Bunce speaks sense on this.
He said he wouldn’t be willing to accept the IBA test results given how corrupt IBA are. I fully get that.
He was anti all the hate they received during the Olympics. I think that’s fair too. These don’t seem to be trans athletes which was heavily reported during the Olympics by people. They possibly/probably have a genetic anomaly though which gives them an advantage and, if that’s true, shouldn’t be allowed to fight women. It’s unfortunate for them that they’ve likely lived all their lives as women. It’s not like they were born with cock and decided later to make a change.
He supports that they should be tested by world boxing

I think if people have a DSD then sadly playing competitive sports is going to be tough. Even lowering their testosterone, in my opinion, wouldn’t make it fair to compete against normal women.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 05:17So they can just never box?maverick23 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 04:37 They possibly/probably have a genetic anomaly though which gives them an advantage and, if that’s true, shouldn’t be allowed to fight women. I’d have no issue if they wanted to try to compete against men but, given they would have likely lived their entire lives as females, I’d understand if they didn’t want to.
It’s sad that this all gets lumped in with the trans debate as I’m a lot more sympathetic with people like this.
Re: Eddie Hearn says he is open to promoting Olympic gender scandal boxer Imane Khelif
Many top male athletes have a genetic anomaly which makes them better than other men they're competing against. Personally, this should be treated the same. Congratulate them for being the best but people should be aware of the biologymaverick23 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 04:37 Bunce speaks sense on this.

The difference with Khelif is that she likely has XY chromosomes which is present in males and gives benefits such as higher testosterone compared to females.joshj909 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 06:47Many top male athletes have a genetic anomaly which makes them better than other men they're competing against. Everyone has different genetic builds but there has to be a line somewhere and, to me at least, someone having the Y chromosome means they shouldn’t compete against women.
Those advantages that some men have compared to others is there. However they are genetically all still men. Unlike someone with a Y chromosome fighting women.
Re: Eddie Hearn says he is open to promoting Olympic gender scandal boxer Imane Khelif
I appreciate that a line needs to be drawn but the xy chromosome is only an indicator and not definitive in itself.maverick23 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 10:49The difference with Khelif is that she likely has XY chromosomes which is present in males and gives benefits such as higher testosterone compared to females.joshj909 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 06:47Many top male athletes have a genetic anomaly which makes them better than other men they're competing against. Whereas the the South African runner was a hermaphrodite in that while she was born with a vagina she also had micro testicles inside her and didn't have a womb. She was more shocked than anyone after the tests
Re: Eddie Hearn says he is open to promoting Olympic gender scandal boxer Imane Khelif
Yeah, that's the issue. It's a single indicator rather than a decisive factor. It is one of the most significant indicators but ultimately it's nearly impossible to completely define what makes someone female with factors such as these without discounting people who most would feel are obviously female.Coco wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 11:09I appreciate that a line needs to be drawn but the xy chromosome is only an indicator and not definitive in itself.maverick23 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 10:49The difference with Khelif is that she likely has XY chromosomes which is present in males and gives benefits such as higher testosterone compared to females.

Semenya has the XY chromosome. She’s one of an extremely small number of people with a DSD and probably similar to Khelif in that she lived her life as a female.
Yet she has internal testes and naturally produces much higher testosterone than normal women without a Y chromosome.
I do have a lot of sympathy for Semenya and it’s likely the same situation for Khalif but I still don’t think they should be allowed to compete competitively with normal and natural females.
Re: Eddie Hearn says he is open to promoting Olympic gender scandal boxer Imane Khelif
The difference testosterone makes between males and females in all events is estimated to be up to 12% (all other items being equal). But Semenya’s best time is only 2% faster than her competitors. It is not possible to determine how much of this 2% is due to testosterone, and how much due to other factors about her as an athlete, or her psychology.
The weighted average limit of testosterone level in healthy males is 8.7-29.0 nmol/L, with the lower limit being roughly 4-5x higher than the average upper limit of the testosterone level in healthy females, 2.0 nmol/L. Female athletes such as Semenya have been restricted at 5.0 nmol/L, which they are naturally above.
We don't know the testosterone levels of these few women but we know they're above 5.0 nmol/L but I can't imagine they're higher than 8.7 nmol/L given their physique and the fact that they are as little as only 2% better than their female competitors rather than 12% overall. They're likely in a bit of a no-mans land in the middle while being much closer to the female athletes. It seems that the male genitalia that they do have in their body is very unlikely to be functioning at the same level as that for healthy men.

People with XY chromosomes tend to be leaner, taller and, due to higher testosterone levels, have thicker bones that are more dense and stronger.
Of course they’d still need to train extremely hard to be a top athlete but that doesn’t change the fact they have an advantage.

Re: Eddie Hearn says he is open to promoting Olympic gender scandal boxer Imane Khelif
True extent of Imane Khelif's failed drug tests finally revealed
IBA president Umar Kremlev has urged the IOC to strip Imane Khelif's Olympic gold medal, alleging she failed gender tests in 2022 and 2023. The 26-year-old Algerian boxer, who clinched the women's welterweight title in Paris, faced controversy over her eligibility.
In a stunning display, Khelif knocked out Italy's Angela Carini in just 46 seconds during her second bout, with Carini leaving the ring in distress, reportedly exclaiming, "It's not fair." Despite competing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Khelif's participation has been a contentious issue, especially after the IOC faced backlash for allowing her to compete.
Previously, at the IBA World Championships in New Delhi, Khelif was barred from a final against China's Yang Liu due to failing an unspecified eligibility test set by the Russian-led authority. Kremlev has now disclosed details of the 2022 test results from the world championships in Turkey, which he labelled as "abnormal."
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Kremlev said: "It was the first time we had encountered a situation like this, so we felt it was necessary to conduct a second round of testing to be absolutely sure before making such a serious decision."
The testing occurred a year later in India, according to Kremlev who revealed the findings were consistent: "Both tests showed XY chromosomes. That does not meet the eligibility requirements for female boxing. After that, the athletes were disqualified, and of course, we informed the IOC about the situation."
Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting was also amongst those who failed the gender verification tests. Informed of these results, both pugilists were allotted 21 days to challenge the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport – neither contested, solidifying their disqualification.
Surprisingly, less than 12 months on, Khelif clinched Olympic glory, having been green lit by the IOC to participate in Paris. Kremlev accused the IOC president of betraying the sport, claiming their stance has led to sponsors withdrawing their backing for the Summer Games. Despite the furore, Khelif has publicly vowed to compete in 2028 in Los Angeles, and has hit back at criticism from US President Donald Trump.

The issue is her chromosomes, it seems that the one she has is a male marker, but chromosomes in themselves aren't definitive.
I don't believe she is a hermaphrodite like the African woman.
I see her as a woman, maybe with some natural advantages
