Re: Is Daniel Dubois autistic?

Yes … pay a few hundred quid and you’ll find a doctor who will diagnose you - getting you more leeway at school with exams etc.Steveh583 wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 15:12Frostieballs wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 11:36I couldn't disagree more with this MasterG!MasterG wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 02:38 All this autism spectrum stuff didn't exist in the 70s and 80s. I never knew any kids my age that seemed different to any other.
I tend to think we may have created the way we are by all the chemicals we are knowingly and unknowingly putting in our body. The way food is processed and the crap that's spread onto fields and crops.
It has always existed... it just didn't have a label.
We all knew the kid with a short attention span (ADHD) or the shy kid (Social Anxiety) and so on.....
I think the biggest issue is that these labels are now over diagnosed and clung to, everyone seems to need an excuse for who they are.correct. and parents can now pay privately for a diagnosis which leads to more cases.
Amen to the point about things being easier for the wealthier. But I don't think middle class people trying to swerve exam difficulty is the driver here. I spent a long time seeking the right support for my daughter, not seeking any diagnosis just wanting her to be ok in school and the like. It is a nightmare trying to get a diagnosis and requisite support.Frostieballs wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 17:01Yes … pay a few hundred quid and you’ll find a doctor who will diagnose you - getting you more leeway at school with exams etc.Steveh583 wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 15:12Frostieballs wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 11:36

Between this post (re: childhood trauma effects on neurological development) and that article from the Sun on Daniel's upbringing tells the full story of why Daniel is the way he is in my humble opinion.Steveh583 wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 15:08no wonder he is so unbelievably strong then. maybe its childhood trauma I'm seeing then. It actually rewires the brain to exhibit similar traits to autism. seriously, google the image of a trauma informed brain and it looks like a face frowning.mickey1975 wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 02:35His dad, a single parent, is eccentric to say the least. Daniel apparently could do thousands of press ups at seven years old, and did so daily.
Are we all not on the spectrum to a certain extent?Steveh583 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024, 14:24 I work with SEN young people and he looks to be on the spectrum, particularly in social situations. does anyone know if he is on the spectrum? The reason I ask is a young person I am with loves boxing and Im trying to find boxers with needs he can follow. So far I have found sunny edwards and prince patel who have been transparent about their needs.
I only saw it first time today, looked bad on first viewing but then read that Joyce might have been distracted by a nearby monitor showing the fight highlights and accidentally concentrated on those? It's definitely easily done, I have to do presentations in work sometimes and the smallest thing can distract me and totally throw me off if I haven't done lots of advance prep.handsofstone wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024, 14:57 Anyone see the clip of Joyce getting interviewed ofn Saturday??![]()

thank you mate. Working with and improving the lives of young people either SEN or trauma informed is my entire life at the mo. Extremely demanding but extremely rewarding.si7dog7 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 16:15Are we all not on the spectrum to a certain extent?Steveh583 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024, 14:24 I work with SEN young people and he looks to be on the spectrum, particularly in social situations. does anyone know if he is on the spectrum? I really applaud this post (but not badging DDD at all) think he seems a lovely lovely guy. Maybe he has issues like us all. But not being a WWE promo type doesn’t mean anything. TBH I find Fury’s promos and prezzas to be zzzzzz. Is he on the spectrum? Course he is.
I mean we not all Bond are we?
I’m on the spectrum as an obsessive compulsive, wannabe perfectionist who never gets there. Just me.
So what do we do! I think we embrace each other’s imperfections.
Steve. Please carry on with what you do mate. I made a mistake that “we all on the spectrum” I do think though many people do stick plasters on things and suffer needlessly.Steveh583 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 16:28thank you mate. I personally think the whole "we are all on the spectrum" narrative does a MASSIVE disservice to the neurodiverse people who really struggle. there are "quirks" and then there are the needs that make life just complete torment.
i didnt mean to dig you out with that comment mate, its obv your intentions are pure. Certainly ADHD (altho very very real) is over diagnosed and sought after by a demographic who want to excuse certain unsavoury behaviours. You are also correct that we all have traits that align with it, but its just incomparable. thats all i really meant. when you see the struggle of pre teens who havent slept for 12 days and are slipping into psychosis, or sit a child who has been non verbal for 6 years it puts it into perspective. The whole "autism never used to exist when I was young" narrative is the one that REALLY grinds my gears. But its basically a lack of education and understanding. Even in schools, no one is getting it right (and may never cos each case is so individual).si7dog7 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 17:03Steve. Please carry on with what you do mate. thanks for sharing Coco, always good to get this insight. Hope you're well nowCoco wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 11:24 I reckon I'm pretty good, but I definitely suffered from short term memory loss, would be driving, forget where I'm going so would have to go home.
Used to write everything down to combat this.
Probably didn't help getting the odd smack on the head when working the door.
However these days I'm much better

thanks for sharing. I was always one of those who thought Joe had always been tickety boo it was just him, but there is a discernible difference from then to now.KiwiRider wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 19:54He was distracted by a monitor in that interviewBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 16:23I only saw it first time today, looked bad on first viewing but then read that Joyce might have been distracted by a nearby monitor showing the fight highlights and accidentally concentrated on those? But he is also not as sharp or concise a speaker as he was. Check this interview from just before turning pro. It's different from the ones he gives today.
The way he collapsed in the 2nd Zhang fight was frightening and I really worry he took life-changing damage from that (and of course the Chisora fight, which I couldn't bring myself to watch)margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024, 20:12 i didnt hear the interview, but joyce looked like he'd suddenly aged 15 years between the 2nd zhang loss and the chisora pressers
I thought Joshua managed to hold his act together right up to the first bell ringing.
