Boxing Monthly and Boxing News were on par with Ring Magazine if you ask me.
Boxing Monthly was a glossy well written take on the sport, very entertaining to read.

Boxing Illustrated ... That came out periodically.
I use to buy that.
Over time it faded away.
Thomas Hearns was on the front of that at one time.

I didn't realise that Turki is only 43. He looks very unhealthy. He carries a lot of weight in the danger zone and his colouring indicates ill health. He should get a grip of that quickly or boxing may need a new benefactor sooner than it thinks.

Before he became involved in boxing, he was very ill.

He made a recovery courtesy of MBS, and he said he wanted to live life to the fullest now. That’s when he began getting into sports and boxing in particular.

MBS appointed him in charge of GEA as well.

Makes sense. Thanks. Hope his recovery continues, he doesn't look too healthy, as I said, but he could be mending up slowly.

I seen a lot of comments suggesting he meant African-American, like we did in the 70’s and 80’s

Let’s be honest, American HW scene has been crap for a very long time!

His broken English, he should have just stayed quiet.

He'll probably never live to see another black American heavyweight champion. It's probably the only era you can say that in.

It's not like it takes a million years for a new face, and a new name in Boxing to get somewhere in the sport. If some phenomenal young talent came along, he could easily rise to the top within 5 to 6 years. He'd have to be an exceptional talent obviously, but these things can happen.

We’re just not seeing it currently in the higher weights though.

I don't disagree with that, I'm just saying if it happened before. It can happen again.

There may be a lot more motivation for young athletes to get into Boxing too with the wads of money that Turki is throwing around.

Turki reportedly has quite serious health issues which doesn't guarantee he'll be around for that long while there is no US heavyweight on the horizon that looks like they'll challenge for a title withing the next few years.

I'd bet on the 43 year old Billionaire to be able to afford the best possible medical care, and keep going for quite a while. Unless he has some sorta terminal cancer he'll probably be alright.

Just got it from my local WH Smiths. Haven't been in for a while so it mat have been there for a bit. Cover price 9.99 but came up at 7.99 at the checkout with a free poster of Canelo v Scull. Had a flick through and look pretty decent
