Nyika had to take that fight and he showed some promise - should be able to rebuild and get near WT level for real next time.

David got up from the KD much too quickly, the ref could have called it off then and he should’ve been better prepared to jump in very quickly when Ope did what everyone in the whole building knew he was about to do. He took one or two shots he needn’t have.

Didn’t like the lack of decorum from the Opetaia camp, celebrating while Nyika was out cold

I don’t know if Jai gets caught flush fairly often because he has a bad defence or because he chooses to go toe to toe but i think he’s made for a crisp counter puncher like Zurdo

I wish Eddie would stop banging on about a fight v Usyk purely to keep himself relevant in the HW division post AJ

i would take jai over zurdo, but zurdo is technically miles above any of the guys jai has been thrashing, has loads of experience, and can take a good shot too. despite looking a bit soft at cruiser his fitness has been good too. it would be more like the briedis fights than the knockouts

jai is a stud but needs a bigger fight than these thompson, flatley, zoro, cinkara/nyika stuff. those fights are cool as in between stay busy bouts, they shouldnt be the bulk of his diet though. he is talented enough that he should be chasing unification and establishing himself as undisputed ruler with a career that holds up across generations

i feel a bit of nyika. his prior fights didnt prepare him at all for this. with more seasoning in the pros he couldve put forward a better challenge. hopefully it hasnt wrekced him and he comes back and builds up. he has some good tools and rung jai a bit at one point

I can't see it myself, look at how many times CBS hit him flush .
Opetaia is surely faster and thuds opponents into submission.
I do hope it happens though , I've only just seen some highlights and it looked pretty much one way traffic today apart from the end of the 2nd round .
Tougher tests needed for Jai , he's scary against this quality of opponents.

Cracking fight in all fairness, the old cliche but Nyika came to win, came to knock Opetaia out and there was some good exchanges, both came out digging the heels in when throwing but Opetaia did always have the look of a boss, good variety and throws hard to head and body from both hands, the first knockdown in the 4th was a sweet uppercut, Nyika was definitely shook up but the finishing from Opetaia was scary, right /left/right/left, Nyika was already gone before that last shot which put him to sleep, ref might've been a bit quicker getting in, already a cert for a KO of the year contender come December

You gotta love the Aussies, showed the replay when Nyika was still unconscious

Opetaia was wild in this fight. Swinging for the fences first couple of rounds and leaving his chin out. No doubt he has a solid chin, but it's still dangerous

When he started picking his shots and boxing he looked fantastic. Great movement, shot variety and massive power. He looked tiny as well next to the Kiwi

Zurdo looked class against CBS and he can take a shot as well. I'd still favour Opetaia to outpoint him. It would be some feat if he could stop him

I'm just hoping Okolie get back down to Cruiserweight and mauls the bejaysus out of the pair of them. I don't think I can stomach seeing him at heavy again, all bloated and weird shape looking. It put me off my supper
