Re: Joe Joyce vs. Filip Hrgovic | DAZN - 5 April 2025
Chisora was brought in to lose v Joyce, but won, and now has a world title shot.
DDD got well beat by Joyce and Usyk

He probably will after he beats Joyce. Lol
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Filip Hrgovic | DAZN - 5 April 2025
Why is Duke McKenzie giving it large on Hergy, I remember he did that with Bute just before Froch battered the heck out of him

Early stoppage win for Hrg IMO.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Filip Hrgovic | DAZN - 5 April 2025
I would love Joe to pull a Froch like performance out of the bag but won't hold my breath. An in shape Hrgovic is too good for this heavy, old version of Joyce unless the Dubois fight knocked the confidence from Fil.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Filip Hrgovic | DAZN - 5 April 2025
DAZN have got a sign up offer on so I think it might tempt me to subscribe as there looks to be plenty of content scheduled

I got the year for 82 quid or something like that on the weekend with the deal they had on.
Less than 7 quid a month and we will have all the Matchroom and Queensbury shows, club World Cup etc etc.

Does that include PPVS? I guess not.jameswilson wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025, 12:11 I got the year for 82 quid or something like that on the weekend with the deal they had on.

Which good fighters do Matchroom have that won't have all or most of their fights on PPV?

You also get the Golden Boy shows and other random stuff, there's boxing on pretty much every weekend. Some times two shows on a Saturday night and something in the early hours. Plus there's a boxing channel with old fights on, including undercard stuff from the 90's.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025, 12:23Does that include PPVS? I think they're also about to have Glory Kickboxing which is awesome. I can't ever get into the Bareknuckle Boxing thing too much, but I like Kickboxing.
As for Joyce vs Hrgovic, I definitely think Hrgovic is gonna be too quick, too skilled and too good for Joyce at this stage of his career. A few good wins, and he may be back in line to get his chance at revenge over Dubois.

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Filip Hrgovic | DAZN - 5 April 2025
Purely for boxing fans (and maybe combat sports in general) DAZN is decent value.
You now get all non-PPV Queensbury, Matchroom and Golden Boy shows. Plus loads of smaller cards from UK and USA.
It looks like Top Rank may be joining them.
Then there's the bare knuckle stuff (not everyone's cup of tea admittedly) and the PFL, plus loads of smaller MMA organisations, Muay Thai etc.
Yes, it's a shame the "no PPV" thing has flown out the window, but that ship has sailed. As a fan of UK boxing I'm not getting value from Sky or TNT anymore.

I chinned it off as soon as they went back on their no ppv line. I will never pay for it again based on principle.magnus wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025, 12:54 Purely for boxing fans (and maybe combat sports in general) DAZN is decent value.

There are thousands of quality fights available legitimately for free online and you never have to wait more than a day or two to catch up with the most recent stuff. I can cope without watching the fights live at this stage of my life.

Yes the No More PPV lasted less than 8 months, now everything half decent is PPV.
I don't mind next day viewing at all, and being at the arse end of the earth none of the viewing times are convenient for me anyway. Have you tried sucking down a first beer at 5am on a Sunday morning?
It's tough, believe me

People keep saying you get all the ‘non-PPV shows’ but that’s really not much use when virtually every half-decent show is now on PPV is it.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Filip Hrgovic | DAZN - 5 April 2025
I have a feeling that this will be another yet defeat for Joyce, although Hrgovic's last notable win was a little while ago so maybe there is some hope...

This has to be the end for Joyce surely once he gets beaten by hirgo .
He really is just far too slow to avoid whatever is coming his way .

Joyce’s response to people that tell him to retire.
“That's all what other people have said, I've never thought about leaving the sport.”
“Well, it's a job and it pays well. I enjoy it, especially winning. I'm a good boxer and I'm in exciting fights for a reason.”

Good for Joe
This is going to be a tough slog for Joyce.
I assume this is scheduled for 12 and the first 6/7 rounds might be a bit of a shelling for Joe to endure, but if he can wade through Hrgovic's offensive and really pile the pressure on in the last 5 rounds we know Filip's head drops & he loses interest....he doesn't quit, so Joyce will have to force an intervention.

Heavies can keep on going until they want to stop. Joyce could have a lot more losses before he can't get a gig. There will be a UK gatekeeper position opening up shortly, Joyce could fill that for a few years.stevec@france wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025, 13:02 This has to be the end for Joyce surely once he gets beaten by hirgo .

I saw a clip of him complaining about people telling him to quit.
He was annoyed and said he wants to fight on.
At 39 I don't think he will for too much longer hopefully.
