i wouldnt be surprised at all if kell was dragged out for benn
It does sort of fit the MO, old retired or semi retired. With careful matching Connor can fight on for years, with just the one defeatmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑02 May 2025, 19:33 i wouldnt be surprised at all if kell was dragged out for benn

I Think Chris has got the makings of a good politician ,, He'll be mayor of London shortly
Think that ships sailed now. Obvious a struggle to make MW so he’d be back up at 168. He couldn’t win a belt there when he was in prime, no chance now. Plus belts with canelo, Crawford next.golden_labrador wrote: ↑09 May 2025, 07:53 I didn't see the fight and don't speak for the fans but I'm a fairly casual boxing fan and I don't want to see a rematch! Chris, fight for a belt before you're too old.
Loads. It will be huge.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2025, 06:27 CEJ said he’d have the rematch if the fans demanded it.
Other than a few casual fans, who wants a rematch?
I think he should ride off with the win.
Benn isn’t even 100% on the rematch either, saying he wanted to fight at WW later this year, maybe for a title.
A few casual fans? They’d probably sell 80,000 tickets if they have a rematch.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2025, 06:27 CEJ said he’d have the rematch if the fans demanded it.

Because he is a lot older now and nearly bloody killed himself making the weight. The first fight should never have been sanctioned. I said it before and I'll say it again. Everybody involved in this circus should be ashamed of themselves. Eubank was dead at the weight,he had nothing in the tank. Benn had all the advantages in his favour and still came up short. Enough said.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025, 14:35He could always just pay a larger fine and come in at 162 or 162.5Frostieballs wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025, 10:23 I don’t think I’ll watch the second fight.
It’s too dangerous. Eubank was a shell from the opening round because of weight.
Can’t see him being able to call the shots on the weights for the rematch, when it was all agreed beforehand.
Benn of course COULD theoretically pull out of the fight if he did that, but I get the feeling he'd be $trongly encouraged not too by the promoters.
Also why is everyone acting as if it's just a monumental feat for Eubank to make 160 when his last like 5 fights prior to this were at 160? If he could make it for those fights, why is it supposedly killing him now?
I do think the more you do it and the older you do it at must be progressively worse for your body though.gilgamesh wrote: ↑11 May 2025, 13:54 Did he nearly kill himself making the weight? If so how did he not die in his last few fights when he came in a few pounds lighter than he came in for this one.
It was a disadvantage to him, but getting a guy to drain down to the same exact weight class he's already been competing in isn't exactly the gigantic hurdle it's being made out as.
I don't disagree with that. I figure it was a worthwhile sacrifice for Eubank though who's surely only got a handful of fights left in his career, if that.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑11 May 2025, 16:07I do think the more you do it and the older you do it at must be progressively worse for your body though.gilgamesh wrote: ↑11 May 2025, 13:54 Did he nearly kill himself making the weight? I see no reason for him to do a rematch though unless he gets to come in at a higher weight since he wants to make such a fuss about it.
I think the rehydration clause had an extra impact.gilgamesh wrote: ↑11 May 2025, 13:54 Did he nearly kill himself making the weight? If so how did he not die in his last few fights when he came in a few pounds lighter than he came in for this one.
