Why would he have to be "desperate for money" to decide to earn a great deal of money, even by his standards, for something very easy by his standards?

I wouldn't have to be desperate for money to agree to taking an easy job for more money than I generally get paid.

What would weigh in the scales against taking a fight with Jake Paul if one was offered?
He's obviously got more money than he could ever spend.
I don't get it, he should retire.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't have more money than he could ever spend. That's way above his league. 100 million doesn't come close to that.
We're obviously on different stratospheres.
I hope he retires healthily, with all his faculties intact.
Obviously will need sparring and that can be pretty wearing.
How the hell does anyone spend a hundred million ( or whatever he has)? It's crazy, but indicative of modern times.

There's definitely no reason why Anthony Joshua SHOULDN'T fight Jake Paul if offered.

1. It's a lot of money
2. It's easy
3. He'd be a hero to a lot of Boxing fans if he splatters Jake Paul with a Highlight reel KO

There's no reason not to do it. Jake Paul has never shown anything that would suggest he could be even remotely competitive with Anthony Joshua, and Paul is out of his mind if he doesn't know that.

The fight probably wouldn't happen. JP would make a cart load of money from PR and advertising alone, even if the fight was announced then cancelled at short notice due to an 'injury'

I'll go one further and say, it won't happen and Jake Paul will accuse AJ of ducking him.

You're probably right. Only a fool would believe that though. Joshua could kick Jake Paul's ass if he was sick with the flu or something

If he fights and beats Jake Paul then the only thing left after that is to go out and prove he can beat Fury.

Tommy Fury.

AJ and the Fury's could go full WWE and then have Hughie come and defend the Fury name afterwards, before he is defeated and the big bad, Tyson steps up for the finale.

This is why we are at this stage, there is no boxing talent out there that has public interest and put bums on seats.

The only way boxing in this era can generate the income is by staging the likes of Benn v Eubank, and of course AJ v JP. AJ v JP would fill Wembley stadium, of course over 50% of those there would be curious social media addicts, Jake Paul followers and the usual casuals who would be I treated in this oddity.

Then there will be the serious boxing fan, like me who paid to see Audley Harrison v David Haye. These are the fans who know the outcome before the first bell rings, and of course, with hope a decent quality fight on the undercard.

This fight would most likely break records too.

Boxing just hasn't evolved from the mid 80s, since the likes of Hagler and Hearns etc, along with many decent heavyweights of that era and that just not included Mine Tyson. Guys my age who witnessed the likes of Hagler etc back in the 80s must have thought that boxing 30 or 40 years in the future was going to be epic. Unfortunately that hasn't happened, we are getting the odd fighter here and there that is giving us fans a decent imagination of what the 80s were like.

Anyway, Jake Paul will not be foolish to really believe he can come from nowhere and beat AJ, but he is a business man and knows that there is a effing huge amount of cash to be made, not only for his bank account but for AJ too. It's simply too much of a gig to let pass by. I'm quite sure JP paid Mike Tyson off, and why not? If people are foolish enough to pay for an oddity then so be it, 'You pays your money and takes a chance'.

Neither AJ or JP need to be foolish to earn 100mill. If people want to pay to watch it, why not.

JP is just using this era to make a shit load of cash, we all love imagination and JP knows that. It's called business.

It's a comeback fight following his losses and injuries. They can sell it as a gold medallist against a gold medalist. Not a big fight but they're probably angling for a bigger fight off the back of it.

I agree there is absolutely zero upside. I'll be shocked if this fight happens.
At least with Paul he makes a butt load of money. And if by chance he was to lose at least
he was paid well

Yoka is an awkward customer, difficult to look good against, looking for a payday himself, can see him shutting up shop and being negative.

Any fight with AJ involved will be a moneymaker, better off with a confidence booster to add to his highlight KO reel

He's pretty rich :maybe:
He would also hate to be embarrassed as well. There are only so many times where you can pretend you won, when you didn't.

If you're AJ. you take the money.

The upsides should be that the BBBoC refuse to sanction it, and bad as it sounds, Paul gets a bad one. I mean caught on the ropes unconscious with a slow ref bad. So that the public know never to go near these farces again.

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte says Anthony Joshua should fight Jake Paul for a lucrative purse, but insists he still has unfinished business with Joshua himself.

Whyte, 37, will be a huge underdog against the highly rated Moses Itauma in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Meanwhile, talks about an unlikely match-up between two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua and YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul have intensified in recent weeks

"It's a business, man. If [Joshua v Paul] makes sense and does numbers, why not?" Whyte told BBC Sport

"[Joshua] has won the championship twice, had a lot of fights and done a lot so I don't know.

"I'm sure he'll make more money than he did in some of his title fights so sometimes if you can make some money then make some money."

Basically, if you can afford a small superyacht, you get resentful that you can't get a bigger one. That's not modern times, it has always been the case.

What extra leverage for bigger fights would Joshua get from beating Yoka?

lmfao as if Joshua is going to be allowed to KO Jake Paul.

They'd pitter patter around for 7 rounds in a sparring session before AJ gives Paul a half-hearted love tap for the TKO win. AJ gets a win, Paul avoids getting sparked out/killed but looks credible for going 7 rounds with AJ.

I cant believe saps still fall for this nonsense.

Apparently Andre Ward is expressing interest in fighting Anthony Joshua now. An unusual development.
