I understand, thanks for checking. It was a small event,
The event was definitely filmed by Eric Guy
Does anyone know what happened to Erics massive tape/DVD collection of fights? Surely they didn’t junk it all… there was probably 30 years worth of stuff most of it not televised.
So presumably Wallace has absolutely no chance? Otherwise they wouldn’t be putting him in with Whittaker

The sort of thing that DAZN should pay thousands for and have them edited professionally. Add it as a bank of domestic cards. Might not get tonnes of views but it would make yourself appear as a very legitimate source of boxing when they're currently seen as a bit of a flash in the pan.

Ok I'm guessing if this isn't sold out free tickets will be out tomorrow.
Me and the lad are off to see this on Saturday so if anyone is interested in free tickets, booking fee will be around £7-50 per ticket let me know. If anyone wants a free ticket for the fight, I require booking fee via PayPal before I get them.

This show seems to be getting a bit of a panning on social media but I actually like the look of the undercard.
Midlands area, English, then British title fights that's what an arena show undercard should look like in my view. Rather have better matches than bigger 'names' in walkovers.
Have to say I'm no longer anywhere near in the know on the domestic boxing scene like I used to be though but its a good night in Brum on the piss (like this arena right in town). Any tips on which fights should be good and not?
Re: Ben Whittaker vs. Conor Wallace | DAZN - 3 October 2026
Ben Whittaker is still hopeful of fighting David Benavidez one day despite the Mexican-American fighter moving up from light heavyweight to cruiserweight.
British star Whittaker (12-0-1, 9 KOs) can put himself within touching distance of a world title shot at 175 pounds on Saturday, taking on Conor Wallace in an IBF title eliminator in Birmingham.
The 29-year-old has established himself as one of the most talked-about fighters in the sport, with four-straight stoppages inside two rounds. He made his mark on his U.S. debut in his last fight, beating Richard Rivera with a Round 2 knockout.
Whittaker has also been linked with a potential future fight against Benavidez (32-0, 26 KOs), one of boxing's biggest stars and a three-division world champion, after his father, Jose Benavidez Sr., called for the fight last year.
Whittaker's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said a Benavidez clash was too early for Whittaker. While Whittaker is older, Benavidez has far more experience in the professional ranks, with 19 more fights on his résumé.
And with Benavidez, ESPN's No. 4 pound-for-pound fighter, moving up to cruiserweight, the bout seems a way off, but Whittaker is still hopeful they can meet in the future.
"Never say never," Whittaker told reporters this week.
"You seen the size of my dad, I'll be a heavyweight soon as well, you know what I mean? So it's just part of the game. He's a great fighter. For [Jose Benavidez Sr.] to message me and to be mentioned in interviews, of course, it's a privilege, but at the end of the day, I'm my own person.
"For me, I'm in my own lane, but I would like that fight down the road. So after this it's Burger King baby!"
Whittaker said he would like to "dominate" light heavyweight before moving up in weight.
"I want to make sure I dominate at my weight first," he said.
"Light heavyweight is my weight. I did what I did at the amateurs at light heavyweight. I've stayed at light heavyweight as a pro. I want to do everything I possibly can here and then I would like to move up. I think it'd be good to go through the weights."

Whittaker isn't going to face Bivol is he? Surely he waits until the belt is vacated or something

Big test vs a man who lost for the Australian LHW title. And its main event!

Connor's decent TBF, he's a tricky southpaw and a decent test, but his IBF ranking is mystifying.

The best of luck to him I hope he wins for what it’s worth
Heh heh heh
Whittaker is the guy you watch to see him beat.
Maybe not this weekend, but whenever he actually steps up...

What is the actual point in Ben Whittaker’s career right now?
He had the big win in the Cameron rematch on bank holiday on Sky Sports & looked ready to go.
He’s then signed with Matchroom & fought & blasted out 3 foreign fighters with no name value over here & is taking on a 4th tomorrow night with a very poor looking record.
He hasn’t stepped up from Cameron in all honesty.
What is the plan?
He’s now entertaining Zuffa & Dana White.
Has Hearn realised he’s not the draw he thought he was & is just giving him cheap foreign opposition until his deals up?
We don’t even know if he’s good enough to compete at British level. It’s all a bit strange.

I think someone can't have heard why Wallace left Ireland if they are wanting him to win...

Ben Whittaker is so unlikeable but this might be one of the few fights where it's impossible not to root for him.
Re: Ben Whittaker vs. Conor Wallace | DAZN - 3 October 2026
Might want to think again, especially given your posts on that other thread.
I remember some Facebook video emerging years ago where accusations were put against him.
I can't verify if the allegations made had merit to them or not, but I believe he was 19 at the time and the girl allegedly involved was 15.
He went to Australia soon after.
Wallace is probably in or around British title level, so realistically Whittaker should have far too much for him.

Has Whittaker beaten anyone at proven British title level yet?

He's not beaten anyone in Boxrec's top 100. How is he ranked 11th?!

it's a kind of magic.
Guys like that, who skip the domestic level and carry on a path to a world title avoiding live opponents eventually get found out.
He might even get found out tomorrow.
