Yeah I was gutted for that Guthrie guy. Thought he'd already taken the worst of the assault (and his chin held true!!) and it looked like the ref should have parted them as they were partially clinched.

At least people will be more inclined to fight him as he has a stoppage against him, but I don't feel that was a genuine stoppage, but a lesson learned KEEP YA F***ING HANDS UP!!!!!!!! Perhaps that Haskins will learn the same one day

There was nothing wrong with the stoppage, he didnt know where he was and he didnt take a knee or clinch he just let the guy tee off.

When a fighter doesn't complain about a stoppage he either wants out or doesn't know where he is. Guthrie was in a mess and De Silva was showing no signs of letting up with his attack.

I'm always moaning about referee's jumping in too quick, but not this time. Guthrie didn't have his faculties and might have got hurt. As it is, he'll hopefully be back before the years out and learn his lesson.

Haskins did an even better job on Spencer than the first time they met, but full marks to Delroy, he helped Chris Sanigar out with only 2 or 3 days notice :TU: . If Delroy hadn't, Sky viewers would still be waiting to get their first glimpse of the talented Haskins.

I gotta disagree, but as we all know on here opinions are like clits!! I think the ref should have called a break, as they were clinched. Guthrie's head would have (and did) clear within seconds, and he would have won the fight against a far poorer opponent.

No way, there is no way he would have won from there. Yes his head cleared after they sat him down in the corner but if they had initiated action again he would have got clobbered some more. Good stoppage.

NNNNNAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!! lol :D I see your point, but I'm stubborn. I think Guthrie was a little hard done by, but the most important thing for Guthrie is he learn from it. I was impressed by how well he took those shots too.

Agree on that point, I don't think there is anything wrong with Gutrie's chin. Although, in my opinion Dan was out of it, he took several full bloodied shots and didn't go down. I'm sure Gutrie will put this behind him and regroup.
