I think that wide arm press ups do more of your outer chest, by the arms. Crab/finger touch does more tri-ceps. Snake does upper chest.

I read in a FHM years ago that Calazghe does 200 pressups and sit ups a day. Not surew if this is in one go! I was in Japan a few years ago and met a shinto monk who told me that he used to be able to do 200 press ups in one go - he was like iron and i didn;t have a reason to doubt him.

The most ever clean pressups i've done is 68.

wayne rigby former british champ and the fittest man i ever come across had an amazing physique .dont know how it came about but wayne used to write to bronson a lot i know he invited wayne to open an art exhibition he was displaying somwhere but wayne had a fight at the time and could'nt go. all the lads thought wayne was nuts getting letters off bronson, but i know they talked a lot about fitness and you dont get fitter than rigby
Bronson holds several records for exercise, one of them for press ups I think, and even wrote a fitness book for people in confined spaces!

He's reported to have once bent the steel door of his cell.

Apparently the strongest guy in the world isn't those blokes in the worlds strongest man, it's a fairly ordinary guy in America, who has the densest bones in the world, apparently your capacity for strength is determined not just by muscles but by your bone and ligament strength.

It's called the Hindu here - I was taught to do these with your feet together and without your ass in the air, like matey in the pics

I think what you're talking about may be more often referred to as tiger push-ups. Description here:

They're one to do at home, unless you don't mind looking a little bit silly. That said, they're a decent exercise.

Paddy Doyle from Brum is seen as a bit of a press-up king as well. List of his records, including some boxing ones, here:

Ah, right, sorry, you already had it.

Hindu exercises are good. Hindu squats are worth a go.

Here is a great push-up game:

Push-up poker.

Take a deck of cards. Simply flip one card at a time over and do the amount of push-ups that the number you just flipped over.

For a beginner: Skip the face cards. (220 total)

For the intermediate: All face cards equals 10. (340 total)

For the advanced: A = 11, J = 12, Q = 13, K = 14. (416 total)
