Good, then you already made yourself sound stupid. You failed to mention that at least half of Johnson's losses were outright robberies or questionable decisions at best. At least you don't make yourself out to be knowledgable about the sport. These two are fairly similar in their style: both like to come forward behind a strong straight left hand, bring the right behind it. Mobility is about a match: Holmes moved around more before he was champ, more forward march as champ. Louis was very efficient and effective with his shuffle. Holmes had fast hands but threw longer punches: Louis was very fast and punched shorter and harder. Also Louis has an edge in the Holmes rarely punched the body and didn't throw a left hook to speak of (unless somebody has seen fights of his that I haven't); he was a jab right hand right uppercut fighter. Louis was a master at every punch in the book.
Both men hit the canvas in their careers and they got up, only being ko'd by the new bull in the pen (Marciano and Tyson). Louis was the better man at slipping jabs to stay in the midrange as he pressed a fight His jab would back Holmes up and hjis matchless combinations would lerad to a tko after 12 or a UD going away

Didn't you ever see Gladiator with Cuba Gooding Jr (not the Russell Crowe film!)? Ruddock and Jaco were friends pitted against each other against their will by an evil promoter. Ruddock found out if Jaco got hit in the head again, he could suffer serious brain damage and die. He went strictly to the body to try to win, but unbeknowst to him, Jaco had a cast iron set of ribs. Jaco never really liked Ruddock and told him his spinach casserole was less than adequate. Try to make RazorKO understand that. Mike Weaver was an imposing looking guy but he was no elite fighter, same as Ruddock. Uh ... let me try to make something up. Currently it is supporting the case that all fighters with imposing physiques (aka Frank Bruno, Mike Weaver) are not necessarily world beaters. Fighters such as Larry Holmes and Joe Louis, who are the topic of this thread, did not have Adonis-like physiques, yet are top ten heavyweights on nearly every list. You are caught? Yes, very true. You have been singled out to be in love with Ruddock. May you have a beautiful wedding ceremony and adopt many kids together. Just make sure CoAtzee doesn't get too jealous. You'll need to keep him happy on the side. wow what an interesting fight holmes v louis would be....i could see holmes either out-boxing louis and winning a comfortable decistion or i could see louis punish holmes with combinations early, wear him down, and pounce on him somewhere in the last 3 rds. tough style match-up....I have ali winning a decision over louis, but i dont think holmes has quite the chin enough to take joe's best shots over a full 15. louis was a completely different style of puncher than shavers, for shavers would hit you hard with wild shots, but louis was a calculating combination puncher with extrodinary stamina. tought call but ill go with
