Good to hear. Those cuts were a bit of a worry for a moment though.

Maussa was well awkward, but Hatton did not look as happy as usual, held a lot...which is fine, but not usually Ricky's way... still good finish...

Yeah full respect to Mick Williamson, one of the unsung heroes of the corner. Great work on the cut. Let's get Hatton in with Cotto next, Mayweather isn't going to hang around. Hatton-Cotto i see it as a straight 50/50 fight.

Absofuckinglutely. That first cut was a nasty one, but he did a great job, just as he did against Phillips. I'm impressed with how calm he is in the corner as well: 'just a graze, Ricky, no problems'. Let's Graham get on with his job and stops the bloodflow pronto. Top man, maybe Vit Klit should have hired him a few years back.
Hatton wasn't that great tonight, though. Far too anxious at first. Great finish though. Anyone else think he's been hitting harder in the last 18 months? I meant to make this comment after the Stewart and Oliviera fights, he seems to have a lot more single shot venom these days.

WOOOOOOOO!
Man gruesome looking cuts and Maussa rubbing his head into them.
Loved that KO though and the frenchie got robbed.
Hatton did that same style with Tszyu when he didn't need to.

Did you notice Williamson shake perfusely I think it was the 3rd (the round before the second cut came). He did a grand job, best in the land. Having said that, I thought Maussa had done some damage to Ricky cause at first I thought he was shivering, but it was Williamson shaking and he was pressing against the cut.

Well, job done. Maussa showed how awkward he could be. Absolute cracking punch to finally finish Maussa off.
Ricky made a good point post-fight - he was the first to KO Maussa. Cotto fight was only stopped on cuts (albeit Cotto had dropped Maussa early on) and the Morua fight obviously went to points.
Not Hatton at his best, but by no means a disaster. Along with everyone else, big thumbs up to Mick W - those cuts were pretty big and could have been a big factor (even though Hatton led pretty much the whole fight.)
The cuts will be hard to heal though, he's going to have to wait quite a while before he can go back in the ring. (What with Fwank's injunction that shouldn't be too hard arrange.)
Next? Depends on the legal outcomes obviously. America I would have thought tho, probably Gatto, although I'd love it to be Cotto (Mayweather I think is done unless Hatton moves up.)
Also thought - Hatton is now unified champ - that means the WBA can russtle up another 'standard' champ. Excellent. How many openings does Witter need, now c'mon son

I'd tip Maussa to be involved in that if the WBA do create another LWW champ

Good fight. Well done Ricky, you got some good shots in.
Sorry about the cut though.

Witter vs. Maussa. Now that would be a bizarre fight.

A damn good fight for Witter I think would be Maussa. He is now an ex world champion and made 2 excellent fighters not look their best. I think Witter's style would make him look good vs Maussa.
An awkard tricky fight for Hatton, but he came through with reputation intact. Cracking finishing blow, although watching Mayweather outclass a decent Mitchell with I would say about 50% concentration must be a cause for concern for Ricky in the future.
Mitchell looked quick and sharp, Mayweather seemed to be focused more on the crowd than him.
Maussa has to go down as one of the worst geniune world champions of all time. Awkard though he is, he is truly awful.

Ricky looked horrible for most of the fight I thought. Really disappointed in his performance. Head-hunted all night and irritatingly used those smothering tactics. If (yes, the magic word) he'd have used the calmness and boxing he showed during the last round for more of the fight he'd have had Maussa out of there in about half the time. Plus Maussa is known for having a great chin, but a long body. Why would a great body puncher completely neglect his best work? He got the job done in the end, which is all that matters of course...
Wasn't too impressed by the commentary either (*groan, moan*), I thought they contradicted themselves - one minute Cotto did it cleaner, then Hatton's performance was better because he put him down for the ten count? lol?
