Why should hatton have been docked a point, it's extremely rare for someoen to get docked for a single low blow. The referee is supposed to issue a warning first, so you are talking complte and utter bollocks as usual.

Let's see how fornicating well you would do as a ref without the benefit of Video replay? It's very hard to see exactly where a shot lands when it's on the belt line like that.

Floyd v DLH isn't set yet, but I've always said this fight won't happen this year. I think both men realise that this fight is going to be HUGE after some anticipation and both of them can make a lot of money in the meantime fighting lesser opposition, why else would Floyd bother taking on Judah, who he is likely to beat pretty easily?
I personally thought Tyuzus blows were borderline and none-intentional.

Rickys was intentional and basically his hardest KO blow to the nuts, what if Tyuzu couldnt have continued? An intentional headbutt can be disqualification - an intentional low blow of that nature should be at least 1 point deducted - no 2 ways about it - nowhere in the rules is there even talk of warnings - that is the refs discretion.

as pointed outby others you are not comparing like for like.

seems to me if hatton fights baldomir he forces PBF's hand into aifghting him, no where else to go.

so not so sure your point is proved at all .

though you cant dicsocunt zoo and were most people calling him old prior to the fight no they werent so that argument wears a tad thin.

Im merely pointing out to one particulalrly one eyed poster on this issue that PBF has hardly been setting the world alight for the past 3 yrs.

So to criticise hatton for his chouces of opponent, well we can do that to any fighter at certain times cant we.

Even ali had his soft touches when he was champ.
I think the Baldomir fight could be a semi-decent match up and so is gatti but lets not get illusions of P4P Greatness when your fighting 2 of the softest touch champs around (Baldomir and Maussa). I won't buy this if its PPV though.

Its an unpopular thing to say but Hattons resume isn't doing anything greater than what Calazage was. BTW Cal to beat Lacy UD.

I personally see Tyuzu as either old not that fit or never that good in the first place - thats an unfashionable statement BUt anyway. He undoubtadly had the power but didnt have the speed or stamina or variety to fight at Rickys pace. I think many would pick a younger fitter KT to keep what he was doing in the middle rounds and win a UD.

I rank Tyuzu on the same level as Calazage beating Eubank. Eubank, Benn, Collins and Calazage are underated P4P in my book. McCellan was P4P pre-Benn (top4), Benn wins in a great fight and doesnt get on the top10 list.

We can only isolate Hattons last three years because that is when he started to reach his potential and join true world championship class.

I just don't understand anyone criticising this choice of opponent (although, incidentally I will believe it when I see it, too many rumours flying around at the moment): he is the undoubted king of the welterweights, having just taken out the undisputed beltholder.

You can admire Hatton without dissrespecting Mayweather and vice versa - liking the two is not mutually exclusive. I think Mayweather beats Hatton in a close brutal fight (and indeed, the vast majority of posters on here, no matter how pro-Hatton they are, genuinely fancy PBF to win.)
To be fair, I am actually a big fan of Hatton fights. I like to watch him work my main point is that he has to step up his competition and stop preying on the Maussas and Baldomirs. In other words I want him to stop dilly-dallying with these "tune-ups" and "exposure" fights and give us what we all want, Mayweather-Hatton.

HE IS THE MAN. THE MAN deosn't have three tune-up fights, THE MAN takes on THE BEST competition, the TRUE #1 contenders and DOMINATES them. I just want him to act like THE MAN.

Fair enough but what is Hatton supposed to do while Mayweather v Judah is going on? Sit on the sidelines waiting? If Hatton beats Baldomir and of course Mayweather is going to annihilate Judah then hopefully the match will come to fruition later this year. Who else would you have Hatton fight next I'm curious.

Max - fair enough.

Like James, I genuinely think Hatton and PBF want to and will fight each other, just makes more sense for them to do it in spring 2007 when it is an even bigger megafight.

I think PBFs wetting himself at the thought of fighting DLH for $10-15m, how much would a Hatton fight net him? Probably $6m at best.

My opinion is that they should have taken the fight last year when it was first offered to them. Daddy knew they weren't ready, so it's all fair. Any fight that's a step up will be great. And enough with mentioning all these big name fights that never materialize anyway. If they're name-matching all these big fighters with Hatton to create a buzz, they should rethink their strategy.

Let's go back to the days when instead of "name-matching" fighters, they actually got in the ring with them to create a hype. The reason Hatton hasn't become a huge name outside the UK is his own doing. Stop milking the Tszyu win dry, finally make a big fights and win.

Spring 2007? They can have a rematch by that time. LOL.

If either fighter loses, their career ain't over anyway. No shame in losing to top-flite competition.

Let hatton duck mayweather and any other slick fight that has ever challenged him. ooops, john taxton was a slick fighter

I reckon a big part of the reason for the step is to sidestep Frankie's mandatory traps.

I can see the sense in this match up though. It's for exactly the same reasons as the last one which does make it feel like treading water but it's another belt.
More importantly it's of the WBC variety - the only flavour that Mayweather enjoys.

theres only one sure fire way that the hatton v pbf fight will EVER happen and thats for hatton to take boldomirs WBC belt off him and pbf won't beable to sign the fight fast enough...

so either ricky's very clever or very stupid...i fear the latter  cos i'd pick hatton over everyone apart from PBF...

The big difference with PBF and Hatton is simple . PbF has not fought your big names , because they won't fight him . Hatton on the other hand Won't fight them.

To put it simple they all duck Floyd whereass Hatton ducks them.

Hatton feasting on another journeyman belt holder - already seen that one haven't we.

I can see the advantage of the leverage of a welterweight title belt, but I don't want to see Hatton continue to fight these type of fighters.

The plan is to build up the fight with PBF for next year. Why fight him now for £2m when it's worth double or triple that in a years time when Ricky is more well known over in the states?

Who else is there to fight now? Cotto is fighting Branco, Gatti can't get down to LW. I reckon after Baldomir he's likely to come back down to fight Ben Rabah then next year Cotto/Castillo and PBF.

Yes agreed, as I said i can see the sense in the leverage if he wants to get floyd. However if he vacates and drops back down, that leverage is all but gone.

Phenominal Neutrition you are so full of shit it's untrue.

I thought I was correct in remembering your Hatton/Tzyu prediction's and analysis before the fight took place, but as a matter of course I went and checked them out, here's a quick one for you:

Zoo Ko1 or 2 Ricky will be too easy to find. If Ricky goes to the body Zoo can hit harder to the body. If Ricky iniates anything Zoos counter will be waiting and I think it'll take Ricky out the same as it did to Mitchell but quicker

HAHA :p

Now, I could quote them all down here and prove you to be the Hatton hater you are, or you could just accept you are wrong about Hatton and leave it at that?

You're no better than that other twit Lirva when it comes to Hatton :)

Coneye do you want to restart your post of this time last year prophetically titled "Realistically Hatton's career is finished". He's not done bad for a man who's career is over.

You are nostradamus.

Please stop gaying up the forum with this inane, unfounded horseshit. You're like a bunch of bitter, whining fornicating children. If this fight doesn't come off it'll be because Mayweather doesn't want it, not Hatton. End of.

First Off Fu<k off you little <ocksucking 14yo. I suppose you've never predicted a fight wrong either. At he time there was question marks over Hattons Chin after Tackie/Phillips rocked him and Maggee floored him. Many people predicted Zoo by KO it was a logical prediction by most (even most Hatton fans on here predicted it). If you also dig up my posts (which only a complete loser with nothing better to do would do) you'll see I wrote if Zoo doesn't KO Hatton, Hatton has a chance to outwork/outbox Zoo. I also overated Zoo off his Mitchell/Judah wins.

Hater? Are we on ESB what does that make you a ball licker? Well you must be if you can't see the valid critiscisms.

I may be a Hatton critic but most knowledgable posters (IE NOT YOUR WANK FACE) I debate with on here will agree I try to post.

What have I said you actually disagree with in this post?

Last off Lirvas a complete Tosser just like you - if you weren't supporting different fighters I'm sure you'd both run away and get married together
