Floyd isn't even available you prick, how's he supposed to fight Floyd when Floyd is already fighting against Judah? Floyd hasn't exactly been tripping over himself to make the fight happen either.
Ricky has already made several million pounds in his career mate, he was earning very nicely even prior to the Tszyu fight, I seem to recall a figure of between £250,00 - £500,000 per fight, and that's pounds not dollars.
Floyd has only featured on ONE PPV to date, and that was against Gatti he's not going to earn more in one fight than Hatton has in his whole career, that's clearly bollocks as Hatton has probably earnt in the region of about 15 million dollars so far if not more. Didn't he earn around 5-6 million dollars for his last fight alone?
Phillips was KO'd in K1 because he broke his shin bone, how in fucks name is that relevant to anything?
James how blinkered are you mate. Floyd wanted Hatton as soon as he moved to 140, he's been saying it all along. He challenged him after the Corley and Gatti fights on national television.
Hatton can do no wrong in your eyes. The fact is, he could easily have made the fight. EASILY. He has said he needs two "warm ups". I thought the Maussa fight was a warm up?
Nonsense, I've criticised Hatton plenty of times, especially in the run up to fighting Tszyu when he fought way too many soft touches.
Mayweather is fightinig Judah and then wants DLH, he's not even interested in fighting Hatton now, he was only interested when Hatton was the draw and nobody outside of boxing purists had heard of Mayweather.
At 140 Hatton beat Tszyu, which eclipses anything else Mayweather has done at the weight, whether you like it or not, he beat the linear champ.
Mayweather has just turned into a belt hopper now, I won't be at all surprised to see him go for some scrub belt holder at 154 after beating Judah, and claiming that he is 'the man' at 147.
How do you know the fight could have been made easily? At what point did Mayweathers people actually sit down with Hatton or Warren and say 'Right here's the deal we want to make, here is what we want, let's make the fight...answer....never.
You act like you know it all mate, but you don't know the first thing about the boxing business. You think because Mayweather runs his mouth off about fighting Winky Wright or Hatton that that means everyone is running from him, but it's easy to call people out without actually doing anything about it. When Hatton was the big star and Mayweather was still yet to appear on PPV, he was all going on about 'I'll come to Manchester and beat ricky up, I'll retire him I'll do this I'll do that.'
Then Hatton beats Tszyu, and suddenly Mayweathers says' No way am I fighting Hatton in Manchester, he'll have to come here, and goes and makes a fight for Gatti, because it's the only way the cable company will put him on PPV.
Despite all his bravado and popularity with boxing insiders, Mayweather couldn't draw flies to shit, and that's the bottom line, he needs a big name like Oscar, Gatti, Hatton to do decent figures on PPV.
Mayweather v Judah is going to BOMB on PPV, and they are going to lose money on overpaying Floyd for this one. The Floyd, if he wins, is going to be running around licking Oscar's bollocks desperately trying to get a big money fight he knows he can win.
If that happens and he wins, he will make such outrageous demands to fight ANYONE who is a threat, that the big fights won't come.
1. I'm glad you agree that Hatton fighting bums for years was a disgrace.
2. Mayweather was interested in hatton and coming to Manchester, and has been interested all along. However, and I don't want to go on about this because I know people are going to disregard it, the Hatton Tszyu fight was LITTERED with fouling by hatton. It simply wouldn't be allowed in a US ring. Bull rushing head first, elbows, low blows. You have to agree that it wouldn't have been allowed in a US ring. Why is Floyd going to come over and put himself at a disadvantage like that? I don't even think Cotto would come over now.
3. Do you really believe that hatton couldn't have made the fight with Floyd if he really wanted it? Honest question.
4. I need two warm up fights - Hatton.

Hatton wants to ease himself into America, that's his shout, Mayweather is tied up for two fights anyway, so what else is he suppoed to do, get a sniper to shoot Judah and DLH and then say 'ok I'm available, let's do this shit.'

Well if he takes out Baldomir personally which it looks like he will be doing that will be one way of narrowing the list of opponents Mayweather has available to him post DLH. Would be funny to think that if Hatton beats Baldomir he will be the man in 2 divisions while Mayweather takes on human punching bags like Gatti and fighters coming off the back of a loss like Judah and proclaiming he is the greatest and no one wants a piece of him.

and I think that is precisely why Hatton is doing so, I don't see him staying at 147, it's a sort of fingers up to the rest of the so called main men.

"human punch bags like Gatti". Wasn't Hatton trying to set up a Gatti fight a few weeks ago. It might still happen.
I'd rather see floyd fight Judah than Baldomir, if he is going to fight either one. I'd rather see Hatton fight Judah than Baldomir.
Now you're going to bring up the point that Baldomir beat Judah. Yes he did, but he'd have a better chance against Floyd or Hatton than Baldomir.
Maussa and Baldomir. great opponents.
Mitchell and Judah. much better.

He is supposed to rise to challenges and fight the best. And that isn't Carlos Maussa, it's Floy Mayweather Junior.
I'm afraid it looks like Hatton has now missed the boat with Floyd (much to his delight) and Floyd will move on to bigger and better things.
I also love the way Cannible criticises Floyds career choices. he obviously hasn't read the initial post in this thread. But it's all good, because what he is saying is multiplied by 10 for Hatton because of his bumfest.

Everyone on here wasn't exactly excited about the prospect of Hatton fighting Gatti, and nobody is excited about him fighting Baldomir either, just like we're not excited about Mayweather v Bruselles, Gatti and Judah.
Sure, maybe Judah will fight much better against Mayweather, and maybe he will get his arse handed to him.
Anyway you're boring now, so I'm not going to bother responding to this drivel any more.

I never said I wanted to see Hatton in with Gatti and if that fight took place I would be against it, it might be a good action bout but I don't think the result would ever be in question.
I only count Hattons fights post Tszyu when comparing because those are the only fights where he has stepped up to world class and world title level and using that comparison when comparing resumes Hatton has beaten Tszyu to become the man at 140 and unified 2 titles in the division and with his next fight is looking to become the man at 147 and all this in less than a year while he is also a year youngher than Floyd. To achieve all that in a year is an impressive achievement that can not be taken away although I'm sure you'll argue against it somehow. It doesn't matter if he said "200X is my year" because we all know that this year is his year.
You say Tszyu was old in that fight but he was competitive throughout and nailed Hatton with shots that would of finished just about anyone at 140, you say Hatton had to take that fight which was nonsense because it was the other way around, Tszyu had to take it because of TV station politics, all the big money fighters he wanted were all constracted to HBO while him and Hatton were at Showtime.
Meanwhile around the same time period that Hatton has had his greatest achievements Floyd moved up in weight and proceeded to beat up on opponents that Hatton would of been criticised for taking, he then became champion by beating up on the weakest champion in the division at the time and showed the high regard he held for the belt by not even defending it and proclaiming himself the man at 140 before moving up which was a bunch of crap. Then at 147 he beat up on the highly criticised opponent choice in Sharmba Mitchell who was shot and took a beating. He now has plans to fight Judah who is coming off the back of a horrible loss and is saying that the winner of that fight will be the man at 147 which is false because like it or not Baldomir is the man at 147 at this moment in time. After Judah he then plans to go after DLH who's best years are far behind him, out of his last 3 DLH has lost 2 and the fight he won against Sturm many argued he lost.
The point is, both Hatton and Mayweather are guilty of suspect matchmaking in the past as is nearly every fighter active today. The only way a debate like this would be settled is for both men to fight each other which I think will happen if you think about it.
Who has Mayweather got left to fight for a big pay day after DLH? No one, not unless he wants to take another ridiculous jump up in weight. Hatton will probably fight and beat Baldomir which takes away another opponent option for Floyd and if Floyd sticks around at 147 or moves back down to 140 then Hatton will still be the man and with the pressure of TV companies and no other huge pay days around and this being a fight nearly everyone wants to see I expect to see it happen by late 2007 at the latest.

there is obviously no rush for mayweather-hatton from either fighter, which is fine!! it's a fight that needs to simmer on the backburner for awhile while ricky builds a rep in usa!!

I think you'll find James Toney has a better shout at that one. In one year he fought Sosa (then undefeated), Nunn (next Sugar Ray Leonard), Reggie Johnson (a very tough fight) and McCallum (fight of that year). He also beat Iran, Jirov (how hyped was he?) and recently Holyfield at a hugely inflated weight. Floyd is great but as much as I love Gatti his series with Ward was not Barrera - Morales, they are not two great fighters and Gatti is not a great fighter. Zab is not good enough either, it is a so-what? fight, look what Tszyu did to him and this other chap Baldomir(?).
How will Floyd get the best resume? Beat Hatton and Cotto, all three of them need one another to define one another. Kostya was a legend and Hatton beat him fairly, he made him old in there.
BTW what was this bet?!
Great call Terrence. Toney is sorely overlooked when it comes to P4P lists, but not by me. I have him number 4 on my list over at maxboxing.
Floyd has a great resume up to lightweight, but since then he has been beating scrubs and fighters already proven to be beatable to pick up belts.
Toney won the middleweight title from an undefeated Michael Nunn, who was meant to be the next Sugar Ray Leonard, and pretty much ruined him. He defended his title twice against McCallum (nobody else wanted to fface McCallum), and toughnut Barklay who was coming off a good streak. His super middleweight reign was less impressive, but he did face a young Charles Williams and of course RJJ.
The wilderness years follow, between 1994 and 1997, Toney's biggest fights are with the refrigerator, and he loses to opponents he should be dealing with easily, he takes a year out in 1998, and between 1999 and the present beats jason robinson to get a crack at Jirov, beats Jirov, long regarded as next to unbeatable at cruiserweight, destroys holyfield in a manner nobody else was ever able to do, and beats Ruiz (no mean feat for any heavyweight) with ease.
The great thing is, the ride's not over yet. I don't know if Toney is good enough at heavyweight to unify the division, I have a feeling that he would be overwhelmed by someone like Sam Peter or Lamon Brewster, but at least we're likely to see him try by jingo!

Toneys 1 of the greatest most skilled fighters ever (far more skilled than PBF), having a heavyweight on P4P lists who hasnt yet dominated his division is hard, I have him near the top all the same (its hard to make P4P lists at the moment with little dominance).

Well it might happen next for Hatton. I wouldn't rule it out. So all of this shit you said about PBF fighting gatti will be multiplied by100 for Hatton since gatti is going to be even worse now.

If you only count his fights post tszyu (which is ridiculous) then how can you criticise Floyd fighting Gatti? Hatton fought Maussa for a title. Floyd fought Gatti for a title. There isn't much between Maussa and Gatti mate. So Hatton deserves CRITICISM for his fight post Tszyu according to your logic (since you make such a big point about Floyd fighting Gatti)
Make no mistake, maussa is SHIT.
And virtually every opponent that Hatton fought pre Tszyu was SHIT. Hell, I'd back NDOU or KOTELNIK to beat every single opponent Hatton has fought, including the Tszyu that hatton fought but that's just me. (No need to respond with garbage about how Tszyu would KO Witter and Kotelnik).
When judging a resume, you take everything into account and Hatton has one of the most sleaziest resumes in boxing in my opinion, mostly through his own doing as well.
Cannibal wrote:You say Tszyu was old in that fight but he was competitive throughout and nailed Hatton with shots that would of finished just about anyone at 140, you say Hatton had to take that fight which was nonsense because it was the other way around, Tszyu had to take it because of TV station politics, all the big money fighters he wanted were all constracted to HBO while him and Hatton were at Showtime. .
Well I'm just saying that Tszyu was almost 36, had fought 3 rounds in 2 years (in which he wasn't tested because he hurt Mitchell early), and was coming off the back of a career threatning injury.
These are facts mate.
Now, it's pretty obvious that this Tszyu isn't going to be as good as the one from 2-3 years ago. it's not even a debate. it was a good win for Hatton, don't get me wrong, but that Tszyu would have got beaten by some other fighters in the 140 pound division as well.
Cannibal wrote:Meanwhile around the same time period that Hatton has had his greatest achievements Floyd moved up in weight and proceeded to beat up on opponents that Hatton would of been criticised for taking, he then became champion by beating up on the weakest champion in the division at the time and showed the high regard he held for the belt by not even defending it and proclaiming himself the man at 140 before moving up which was a bunch of crap. Corley is better than anyone Hatton has ever faced pre Tszyu.
Gatti is better than anyone Hatton has faced pre Tszyu.
So how can you criticise Floyd without criticising HATTON even more!? Take a look at their careers on boxrec. Oh I forgot, what Hatton did before Tszyu doesn't count, only what he did afterwards counts. So criticise Floyd for coming up from 130 pounds and beating Corley and Gatti, and then moving to 147 pounds to fight Mitchell, yet DON'T criticise hatton for fighting Maussa. That Maussa fight is actually a PLUS for Hatton because he picked up a belt, while Floyds fight against gatti is actually a MINUS even though he ALSO PICKED UP A BELT and Gatti is BETTER than Maussa (although there isn't much betweem I conceed).
great logic.
Cannibal wrote:The point is, both Hatton and Mayweather are guilty of suspect matchmaking in the past as is nearly every fighter active today. The only way a debate like this would be settled is for both men to fight each other which I think will happen if you think about it.

Hattons suspect matchmaking isn't in the same sentence as Floyds. 39 fights and fighting the likes of Stewart and Oliviera as a "step up". Floyd was winning WORLD TITLES (WBUseless doesn't count) in his 18th fight mate. Hatton was fighting Aldo Rios/Steven Smith/Oliviera etc in his 30 something fights. no contest on the matchmaking, Hattons is a disgrace compared to Floyd. Corrales vs Tszyu? Chavez vs Rios? Castillo vs Smith? Hernandez vs Pederson? Ndou vs Vilches.
Get real mate.

lol at this... acting like Hatton is doing everything in his power to force Floyd to fight him. He actually had the chance after the Tszyu fight but fought Maussa instead. then he could have fought Floyd but wasn't interested. Now he has gone ON RECORD as saying he needs "2 warm up fights".
Floyd will most likely beat Judah. Hatton will probably fight Rabah then Gatti. Floyd may fight DLh if DLH wants it or he could fight Cotto, who would be up for it. There are other options than Hatton, a champion who needs "warm up fights" to fight contenders.
He is already well known in the USA from the Tszyu fight. Why need warm ups?
Or should we call them, easy touches?

fact is, I am 100% right. I am arguing fairly and coherently.
im right but the brits on this forum are "getting behind their man". It starts to get unacceptable when Hatton fans criticism Floys opposition after what Hatton has done. Worse still is when they actually PRAISE hattons opposition throughout his career???
This is a brit forum so I expect to see this. If I posted that on a US forum I'd be getting a round of applause. A lot of people here (you included) chastised me and laughed when I predicted Williams would get KO'd in 1 round vs Klitschko and wrote long winded posts about how Danny should win. Well, you weren't laughing after 30 seconds of the fight when Williams was all over the shop.
Why do I bring this up?
because it's just an example of a BRIT forum supporting their men. That's all. The non brits that are here supporting Hatton are obviously letting his style and personality affect their judgement.

What you say about Tszyu is rubbish, I reckon if Tszyu fought on he'd still be top 4 in the division. He still has power and still picks out great shots, Hatton just had the style to beat him, if he didn't stick so close to Tszyu then he would of been bombed from constant right hands that would still put most in the division to sleep.
No one is defending Hattons career choices, Hatton did fight bums for years but they are defending him from blatant criticism such as yours which has no point other than to bring the man down and make it sound like he has accomplished nothing in his career when he has in fact accomplished a great deal.
Floyd Mayweather is a great fighter but so is Hatton. We keep comparing them but when it comes down to it they are not the same person, they box differently, they have handled their careers differently and they are from 2 different cultures with different attitudes. I believe both of them to be great which is why I want to see them fight but you just seem to be determined to drag Hatton down with opponents he was fighting in 2 years ago. You make it sound like Hatton has the worst record of any boxer walking which is far from the truth. Hatton in my view beats most fighters near his weight class with only Cotto or Floyd giving him a challenge and out of those 2 I'd fancy Hatton to beat Cotto but lose to Floyd.
And my point about Mayweather fighting Gatti was not that he fought him to collect a title it was that he picked the weakest champion to claim a title. Hatton beat the strongest champion to claim a title and then unified against a weaker one.

No, hang on for a second. YOU (and others) are criticising Floyds competition. I am pointing out that Hatton has fought over 35 bums in his career before even fighting for a title (something Floyd did in his 18th fight). So my point it, don't criticise Floyds competition and then turn around and defend Hatton because his bum collection is FAR GREATER than Floyds so essentially I am pointing out that when you criticise Floyd, you are in effect also criticising Hatton EVEN MORE because his career is worse. That's quite simple to understand, but I don't expect you to understand it.

No, I am just removing Floyd from criticism from hatton fans because to criticism Floyds opposition would mean also critising Hattons even more. You have your opinions on who would beaat who, fair enough, we all have opinions. But the facts of their records means that the criticism of Floyd by you in this thread is bogus and rubbish especially considering your posts about Hatton. because you are CONTRADICTING YOURSELF.

Hatton beat Tszyu and unified against Maussa. Maussa is no better than Gatti. Floyd has beaten an itenary of strong fighters in the past. Corrales, Castillo, Chavez, I could go on. Corley is actually BETTER than anyone Hatton has faced with the exception of ONE FIGHT, and would have a good chance vs that Tszyu. So your whole argument and basis for criticising Floyd is because Hatton fought Tszyu and Floyd didn't.

Floyd came up from 130, beating a host of class A fighters and then beat Corley and Gatti.
Heres a quote from you in this thread.
"Would be funny to think that if Hatton beats Baldomir he will be the man in 2 divisions while Mayweather takes on human punching bags like Gatti and fighters coming off the back of a loss like Judah and proclaiming he is the greatest and no one wants a piece of him."
These "human punch bags" are what Hatton feasted on pre and post Tszyu. If Gatti is a human punch bag and Floyd gets criticised for fighting him, Hatton MUST ALSO GET CRITICISED FOR FIGHTING MAUSSA since Gatti is NO WORSE than him.
These "fighters coming off a loss" are what Hatton FEASTED ON for 35+ fights.
You can't criticise Floyd for doing something that you perceive he did, when Hatton did EXACTLY THE SAME THING FOR YEARS.
get my point now?
Also, who do you think would have a better chance vs Hatton or Floyd? Baldomir or Judah.

Just having a pointless dig at Hatton.
So you think Mayweather and Cotto are better than Hatton? Whoppe de doo da for you. I think Floyd would beat Ricky as well but really don't have the bile (or time) in me to sit there for 3 hours and write such a long post misrepresenting facts and building a case why Hatton isn't as good as them?
Do you really give a smeg that much?
Get a life!
Did Hatton smeg your mum or something?
predictably you didn't have the mental capacity to see the real reason for the thread.
but don't worry, I didn't expect you to.

You've been using Floyd to put down Hatton which is why people are picking holes in Floyd, not because they feel like it but because you are forcing comparisons in a way that is biased against Hatton.
No one said Maussa was better than Gatti. My point was that Mayweather beat up on a helpless Gatti and proclaimed himself the man in the division and didn't even stick around to defend his title when beating Gatti did not make you the man beating Tzsyu did and beating Baldomir at 147 would, not Judah. The Maussa fight wasn't ideal but considering that the Mayweather fight was a no go at the time and pretty much anyone else of name stature was tied up at the time, it was a good keeping busy fight while helping to unify division at the same time. He also did a better job on Maussa than Cotto did.
I also think you heavily over rate Corley. All of Corleys wins came against bums worse than what Hatton fought and the 3 times he stepped up against Judah, Mayweather and Cotto he got beat and Cotto stopped him in 5 while Floyd was taken the distance by him. The Tszyu Hatton fought would of beaten Corley handily and most likely stopped him, it would be an insult to such a great fighter to say otherwise, you under estimate Tszyu as much as you over estimate Corley based on Hatton beating him.
As far as you quoting my previous comments in the thread, they still hold up. If Hatton beats Baldomir in his next fight he will of been the man in 2 different divisions FACT. Mayweather was not the man at 140 even though he wanted everyone to believe and by beating up on Judah he won't be the man at 147, he backed out of a fight with Baldomir claiming Baldomir was demanding millions, how is a guy who made 150k in his last fight going to be demanding millions? This "millions" barrier doesn't seem to stop Hatton negotiating with him, Floyd would be fighting Judah now even if he got knocked out in the first round.
Hatton has only fought 2 fighters coming off the back of a loss in his last 20 fights. Floyd will move to 3 in his last 20 with his fight against Judah since you decided to argue that point.
As far as who would have a better chance against Hatton or Mayweather, it's not the point. If you want to be the champ of a division like Floyd keeps proclaiming he is then you beat the champ, you don't beat the man who got beat by the champ.
