think a rematch is defintely on the cards, despite Danny's insistence he wants another (Euro / world) title shot.

Good case for giving DW the last round 10-8 though. A lot of the rounds were hard to score, so if you decided Skleton nicked one, and gave it to him 10-9 - surely Williams deserved a bigger margin than 10-9 for a round where he hurt Matt and had him out on his feet?

Hmmm, I don't think the round was one sided enough to call that a 10-8. After all, Skelton was still firing back when he was hurt.

I do think Williams was possibly robbed of a knockout though. Why the ref intervened with so little time left is a little mystifying, Skelton was on queer street and Williams was teeing off at that point. The break gave Skelton just enough time to collect his senses.

Unless the Ref decides the points were to be deducted the judges (or yourselves) cannot score a round with a point deducted.

You cannot score a fight and say I deducted points for this or that. that's fornicating stupid.

Skelton won that fight. Danny hid behind O'Conner who was very harsh on Skelton I fealt. OK so he didn't deduct a point, but he certainly stopped Skelton getting any rhythm to his work, and stopped him wearing Williams down. On numerous occasions the ref intervened unnecessarily!! And Williams played on it too. Now I'm not saying Skelton isn't rough, but this is heavyweight boxing!!

Couldn't agree more. If Skelton had been deducted a couple, even I would have had Danny a winner.

But he wasn't and judges can't go around docking points of their own accord. Can they?

Come on. There were several occassions he could have been a lot stricter. As was said in the commentary 'Sketon should have put a glove on his head' - he used it that much.

It was a close fight, and no-one could be too surprised with the official scoring. I certainly didn't differ too far from any of the judges.

Short of holding Danny Williams arms behind his back whilst Skelton kicked him in the nuts, I don't see how he could have been more favourable to Skelton. He told him off about 10 times without even issuing an official warning.

Fail to see the controvesy here, just watched the fight after a weekend away.

Pretty comfortably Danny win, although Skelton was coming on untill the last round.

Just sums up that the game is all about opinions, I suppose. Lots of horrible rounds.

If a round is close though and the judges are looking who to award the round to surely they will lean towards the one who is not doing the holding, the one who is not sticking his head into his opponent. I know I would.

Yeah, you would think so. I'm not sure the above two observations can be levelled at one man though. Danny seemed to be doing plenty of holding, Skelton using his head.

Exactly, he cannot score for illegal tactics, so in a number of those rounds Danny did more even though the appearance was that Matt did more.

I deducted a point from Skelton as I didn't like his entrance music.
