Calzaghe - next 3 fights.
I would love to read that interview...I can't stand Tarver...link?viciousmaussa wrote:already Tarver has said he's interested; he wants revenge for "my homie (lacy)...it'll be UK vs USA". is AT serious? would negotiations go anywhere? is Tony just trying to hype what most ppl should think will be a stinker with Hopkins, or does he see another big money fight coming?

personally, I doubt JC would want to jump up a division & risk having to give up his belt sor liose 'em to politics. there's the Winky-Taylor winner possibility, mandatories to take care of (the respectable Rudy Markussen), Kessler, then afterward my guess is go for light heavy
a tarver fight wouldn't be that bad, it would just seem curiously dull compared to other possibilities
Warren wants to make Calzaghe-Jones for July, but I doubt Roy would come over here, let alone fight him anyway. I just can't see that happening, not at all. I doubt Jones would come back unless vs Woods.
Calzaghe has actually said he'd like to get Woods, "It would be a great fight for this country - the best super-middleweight against the best lightheavy." Woods says he'd love the fight and that, "I thought Joe's hand speed against Lacy was just phenomenal. But he would not be able to use my head like a punchbag as he did with Lacy."
however, Warren has said it would be "difficult to make" - obviously with Woods being with Fight Academy & Sky, and Joe being with SN and ITV.
I would actually love to see this fight, as I rate Woods highly and feel his size and style would give Joe plenty to think about. Obviously won't convince America, who haven't followed his massive improvement since the Jones loss.

He is proven against legit comp, he just needs a big fight to get prime time exposure in the US. I beg to differ on the skills...he's definitely more skilled than Roy is at this point (although nobody is as skilled as Roy was 10 years ago), and Im inclined to say better than AT as well, but that is pure speculation because we havent seen Tarver since he bulked up for Rocky 6.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:BIG - soAxe wrote:Er, no. Adamek is BIG, skilled and hits far harder than Joe. I can see Joe winning, but I can also see him getting hurt BADLY.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:4. Adamek - huge hype but hes a very similar proposition to Lacy on many fronts. Calazage would win this 1 for sure.
Hits harder than Joe - so did Lacy
Skilled - not as much as Calazage/Tarver/RJJ
Adamek is currently unproven
And dont compare him to Lacy, Lacy was a good puncher with a good chin, but he was short, stocky, with little boxing skills; Adamek's style is a whole different ball game.
This is Adamek's time, and if Joe wants to step into the ring with the WBC champ he's going to find that out very quickly.
