Because the squeaky wheel gets the grease. He's made a fool out of himself with the whole contracts being signed, and people are now interested to see him in some of those fights. So, would you put it beyond a commission to move them up their ranks for non-boxing related reasons?Freiheit wrote:He is rated 5 by The Ring and 6 by boxingtalk.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Blimey, stand corrected, he's ranked 5th! Again, based on what precisely? I see nothing in his record to have him rated so high, certainly not by independent rankings, which the ring sort of are.Freiheit wrote:He is rated 5 by The Ring and 6 by boxingtalk.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Blimey, stand corrected, he's ranked 5th! Its the same principle as Maussa - he beat Riveria, who beat Trabant who was probably in the top 10 based on his run as EBU champion.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Blimey, stand corrected, he's ranked 5th! Based on what for christ's sake!?
not the vann/magee one again. hatton's head goes in between the ropes and vann jumps the gun. it's that straight forward and he is not protecting hatton.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:No Hatton would of been a first round KO victim though if he wasn't helped by Vann against Mageehitman_hatton1 wrote:i don't recall any 3rd KO stoppages on hatton's record.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Yea Ive seen his record, its about as good as Hattons pre-Tszyzu.and hatton's KO record was a damn sight better after 26 fights.
- j/k but kos happen in boxing, Wlad coul potentially beat any HW but we've seen him embarassed.
He had an early defeat but stopping Miguel Angel Gonzalez is something only Tsyzu did before - Delahoya and Spinks couldn't
Hes supposed to be a boxer not a ko artist so maybe he'll pull out something in a big fight and cause problems.
Collazo is 43rd on Boxrec
Hence j/k - just kidding, I think the Gonzalez win does look pretty good, you have to be top10 or top5 to beat him imo. gonzalez has gone back a long way and everyone on here knows it. besides spinks can't punch for toffee anyway can he.

The IBF-WBA-Hatton scenario is the same as the IBF-WBA-Marquez featherweight fiasco was.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:HE wouldn't lose the WBA if the IBF strip him.

Sorry Guys, but U are letting your bias cloud your faculty of perceiving clearly.

Collazo is a highly regarded and well known among the Latinos who BTW, are the largest viewing market in the Americas.
If they fight for the WBA title IN-THE-USA, HE is the MAN. Hatton’s 140 titles don’t mean a thing in the welters.
The reason Ricky is sitting on his ass while the other contenders fight each other is “HE” is the one overpricing himself.
The “Big Boys” didn’t get where they are by being stupid.

Oh right, that's the trouble with ONLY this country is it ? If it weren't for the fact you'd been over there when he was fighting on business, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have heard of him either. It's all well and good giving it the big one boxingchat, but HOW is it you know him, oh yes, that's right, because you work for a well known boxing promoter, despite all of your denials.boxingchat wrote:Blue wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:Blue, are you telling me that in America then, Collazo is a highly regarded and well known champ, if you are, you are talking bollocks, Collazo is the definition of a paper champ, he's beaten absolutely nobody of note and was handed the opportunity for a belt due to the malarky of the sanctioning bodies.MightyWarrior wrote:Don't be a plonker. Totally agree Blue, the trouble is in this country if they haven't heard of someone they dismiss them as a nobody. I've seen Luis fight three times and know him also and whilst I think Hatton would destory him he is entitled to ask for $1M.
Would FWs teaboy see Collazo 3times in the flesh? Could it be FW himself?boxingchat wrote:
I've seen him fight three times in the flesh and he would get murdered by Hatton imside three rounds IMO So why don't they pay the money, grab a 147 title and kiss goodbye to court orders, weight making and the like.

Perhaps we've been crossing swords with the organ grinder and not the money all this time.

jamesmcdonnell wrote: Funny but I have heard NOTHING about Collazo from any of my American colleagues, nor have I heard his name mentioned anywhere prior to the talk of Hatton facing him.
Fact of the matter is, Collazo isn't a draw, If he were, I'd have heard a lot more about him by now. To say that Collazo is THE MAN is bollocks, let's see his million dollar payday for fighting someone other than Hatton.
Actually money works quite well in that context too, though obviously it was a typo.boxingchat wrote:Firstly, don't you mean Monkey?jamesmcdonnell wrote:It does occur to me you know, after all, when quizzed about who employed him before Boxingchat did reply 'I'm self employed.'

My comment being Collazo is the MAn was in the contexgt that he has the belt and Hatton wants it so thereofre by being the Champion and Hatton the challenger,is he not the MAN?
The Champion is entitled to get paid for putting his belt up isn't he. Don is hardley going to bow down and present him on a plate for Hatton is he.
My point was, regardless of Collazo's credibility, he has the belt and Hatton should pay the money and buy the title. If as many of you say, he is a paper champion, why does Hatton want him, if Hatton beats him will you call him paper champion as well?
By the way, I haven't seen him 3 times at all....it was four and therefore I am entitled to say that this is a walk in the park for Ricky and I fight I would make straight away to move away from his numerous problems at 140 lbs.
Team Hatton are making fools of themselves in the US and being far too greedy and short sighted. HBO, Foxwoods and the US promoters are becoming tired of them as they did the Hameds. I hear Foxwoods have pulled the plus and now he fights on a McBride show in Boston so to get a decent crowd for his US debut.
IMO he should scrap the whole deal and fight prime time on Sky against Witter to re-establish his interest in the UK before it is too late.
Witetr will end up as WBC champion and leave Hatton with egg on his face
if he then moves up to 147 without facing the man he claims he alway's wanted to ALLEGEDLY.
All in all, it's a shame that such a nice kid is being ruined by the greed and stupidity of his father and the cheap backroom team he has assembled none of whom have any experience whatsoever at championship level or with broadcasters.
James, when you concentrate you do some good stuff and your knowledge and foresight is fairly good. Try not to get smothered by the know-nothing fools on this website and you may yet make it as a hack. You may even succeed Fraud at BN!!!
