A theif who steals to support their family or a hooker whoring herself to feed her kids deserve compasion and a second chance.
other than that hard punishment is a must.
Crime is built on thoughtlessness and greed.

I am not a vicar, and Im not a fool. I just get annoyed by the brutish, and often hypocritical, response to crime/immigration/insert hatred of the week here/etc that we see in the UK. I dont think people are thoughtful enough or sensitive enough to the reasons for these things occuring. Obviously a millionaire crashing his car is not the kind of thing I'm talking a bout here

But the thoughfulness still exists, dont lock someone up when they can be more productive and give a greater contribution not locked up. It is not rocket science.
Then again, I suspect that you would be just as happy giving him the lash, or whatever unsual punishment that the daily tabloids could cook up.
the point is, Naz IS a danger to the community if he drives like a tit and smashed the fornicate into people almost killing them. I don't expect Naz to get special treatment either with leniency or severity of sentencing, I just expect that he gets what he deserves. If anyone else would get a custodial sentence for what he did, then why not Naz?
....don't drag racism or immigration into this. I am neither racist, nor do I have a problem with immigration, far from it in fact, seeing as my family came to this country from Ireland to make a better life. I also don't read tabloids so spare me your pigeonholing.

I was not pigeon-holing and I was not saying that people are saying he should be locked up because of his yemeni background, my point was about the 'lock-em-up-and-toss-away-the-key culture being part of the hysteria fuelled by a low brow and ignorant press, like the hysteria around immigration

Come on guys, he didnt just crash into this car at high speed he ran off afterwards leaving the poor people in the other car for dead. Bear that in mind before you say he shouldn't be banged up. Why should he get special treatment becasue he's famous? Send him to the gallows!

Well the press are going to have a field day with this. I say 3 months jail sentence, let him learn a lesson and make him a better man.

It's a shame we don't have the stocks any more, an afternoon of being pelted with rotten tomatoes would probably be a crushing blow to Hamed's ego.

They would if there was less community culture. In the UK, because it's relatively small (as well as lots of other various reasons) it's easy to make friends and basically fall back in. Reading and time for private thought would be best, but overall isolation is the key. That was the main factor that gave life to Bernard Hopkins and Dwight Braxton in their incarcerations.

I don't see the obsession with speed and fast cars either, not that my little bag of scrap clio could generate any speed

Me too. I passed my test almost six years ago to the day(!), but I'm really not into driving at all. A few people I know, one a best friend, have died in accidents, so perhaps that is a factor. However, in general, I always think guys with the big cars are using it to compensate for some insecurity. Maybe not true all the time, but if I'm honest, that's the impression I usually get.

I think you going off on a bit of a tangent. No-one seems to be spouting Daily Mail-like string em up rhetoric. As they might for illegal immigrants/single mothers.
People are simply saying if you act with such disregard for the lives of your fellow citizens you should face the same reasonable custodial sentence whether you are a celebrity or not.
Let the punishment fit the crime. Nothing more nothing less.
You'd think that if he was found at the scene of the crime, distraught, staying with his victims while he waited the the ambulance to arrive that he might have learnt the error of his ways.
Time to think about what he did away from his comforts and family might focus his mind and make him less likely let something like this happen again.

Yes perhaps, but a slim and relatively fit peasant with buttocks that can crush walnuts.

Cheers
Naz can expect his dinners cooked for him and trays collected, clothes washed and clean ones delivered to his door, 24 hour telly, kettle, playstation and freeview if he builds up enough points, he could fill boxes with screws for £2.50 a day if he pleases or learn how to write the cat, sat on the mat. Alternatively he could just lie in bed and sleep all day. Whatever happens it will be one big fornicating waste of time

Sounds fornicating boring, bit like centreparks without the mountain biking.

IMO he deserves a firm sentence, say 2 years. And he should do the full sentence.

Yeah once he wades through the pack of rastas trying to outdo each other by lifting 7 times their own bodyweight, the inveitable high pitched liverpudlian aptly named "Scouse" (they are everywhere) and the steroid enhanced loons i am sure he will find time to work the speedbag

Putting aside the philosophical discussion about whether or not prison is the appropriate course of action for the crime, I hope Hamed goes down because he's a T W A T and it would be a v humbling experience - betetr even than the Barrera beating!

Yea I wonder if he was quite so moral when he talked about Amir Khan knocking over a bloke at the traffic lights in his SN sponsored BMW

Speeding is not an accident. In theory speed limits are there for a reason, usually like stopping people from crashing into things or people.

Respect to the English Justice System

The justice system is non-existent! I have had personal experience of people close to me getting screwed over by them, I can't go into detail obviously, but I've learned a lot recently, and for many, many cases, our system is fukking corrupt! Not saying it is in this case, but you get the gyst. I can't stand anybody praising this so called justice system.
