Yes.
Jock McAvoy, the Rochdale Thunderbolt, was reigning British middleweight champion when he moved up to challenge world light-heavyweight champion John Henry Lewis in Madison Square Garden in 1936.
Lewis won a tough 15-rounder on points.

A case could be made for Jock being the uncrowned 160 champ when he fought Lewis as he'd koed Risko in 1 round but only got a shot at the 175 crown... typical yank trick eh!!...

That's right. He chinned Risko in a non-title fight, and had to move up for his prize.

Fair enough,I was one of them english twits to stay up to watch it,but that was purely because i wanted to see the taff lose.
It's the same in any other sport for me.I thought it was funny the irish did'nt make it to the world cup in footie, and that the french took the 6 nations in front of them!
The way I look at is,I have never EVER come across a paddy, taff or jock that has got behind us in any sport,so why should people like calzaghe expect support from me or any other englishman?

The WBA are under a court order regarding Hatton and cannot sanction ANY fight involving him. These are matters of record and therefore from day one they have been BS'ing everyone. Don KIng knows the score and Pellulo has been aware of this for ages but both have led the nieve brits up the garden path to the point of no return. Brilliant, hillarious!

This means that Ricky will go over there, get fucked by the Tax man, fucked by King and Pellullo and lose both his 140 lb titles. In addition, Sky will pay him less and he will woin nothing for beating Collazo who even if he loses will still be WBA Champion as the WBA have not sanctione dthe bout thereofre he has not lost it under their specific rules.

All in all, Fight Academy have been royaly screwed and in turn so has the
Hatton tribe, which ain't a bad thing.

Still at least the £5k cheque for the WBU will protect his status!
you give the impression that you know what is going on but time and time again you demonstrate that you pick up very little when you are polishing Frank's car.
Ricky's money is guaranteed so how can he get screwed?
King is contracted to deliver the WBA title, so who is screwing who?
I am still waiting for you to tell us when Ricky paid the 5k to the WBU.

How much do you think HBO would pay for a Mbaye fight?
If you spent as much time on your own fighters as you do attacking the Hatton's then maybe Joe could be earning similar money.
Surely it is time you got a life?

Being screqwed does not mean financially all the tijke but bthe fatc is he will lose his WBA 140 lb title, cannot win the 147 lb belt as the WBA won't sanction it so even if he wins he will actuially lose a world title. King and Pellullo know what is going on and they have left it too late for a replacement oppoent to be drafted in. So yes HAtton is getting screwed, he juist can't see it.

As for the £5k, it has been promised to the WBU by Robert Waterman on Ricky's behalf to hold his title or else he would have bene stripped. I have that in writing from Jennifer Robinson. Also, didn't you state Hatton had paid for the car FW had bought him? Wrong again old son. FW is still financing Ricky's transportation. Proud man your mate.

You really need to take those rosy glasses of and see the Hattons for what they are. Being star struck is a pathetic state of mind.

As for HBO, what the fornicate has it got to do with them? Purse bids would decide the true value of the fight and the winning Promoter would determine which TV station showed the fight and for how much. IMO the Hatton's were frightened of the winning bid being less than his normal income and then having to pay a challenger more than they would want. Also they didn't want a dollar for dollar pissing contest with FW.

If his title meant so much to him as his staement suggests why didn't he act like a real champion and defend it.

He can't handle slick boxers that's the long and the short of it. Wiiiter, Rabbah and M'Baye etc etc. He even turned down Bobby bloody Vanzie for 500 grand so what does that tell you.

Is that the same WBA who always abide by the standards of utmost moral rectitude and never, ever bend any kind of rules to suit their own financial purposes?

Or is it a different WBA?

There's more to come on this one I fancy.

god I could just imagine what you'd say about Hatton had he signed to fight Rabah. or Vanzie!!!!

& I wouldn't exactly class Witter as a 'slick boxer' anymore than I would the Prince. Neither are brawlers sure but they're not Sweet Pea either.

FA won the last dollar for dollar contest with your boss, I bet with hindsight he wishes he had offered the Hatton's more money rather than spending it on lawyers for wasted injunction applications!
I have never mentioned Ricky's car, but now you mention it I presume you are talking about the X5, was that not a gift?
Does Frank want the watch back as well?
If you like I am sure Ricky will repay all his purses in return for SN giving Ricky all the profit they made out of him!!
We all know ther fighters you mention are not a threat to Ricky, the reason he is not fighting them is because it is not financially worth his while, however if your boss wants to guarantee him $6m to fight M'Baye then I am sure he can fight him this summer, why don't you ask him?
On that note, if Ricky specified he didn't want you around how long do you think you would remain making the tea and washing the cars??

You really do spout bollcks don't you. I feel sure that FW Would trade his earnings from Hatton for Ricky's all day long. Would Ricky hand back the investment when he rode on the shirt-tails of Farnell and Gomez's ticket sales.

Why would he wnat the gifts back, if he did why would he still be paying for the car. If Hatton had any pride he wouldn't want him to do that would he?

I sugghest beofre you spout any more crap you actually find out the facts of what you are talking about. As for washing cars and making tea, only my own old son all bought and paid for.

The fact is Ricky Hatton and his father are disloyal, ungrateful and ungracious. Still they will get their comeuppence one way or another and we can sit back and laugh aloud.

Warren will survive without Hatton and will continue to do what he is good at. Only time will tell whether Hatton can make it on his own rwmain to be seen but it is highly doubtful and the signs are showing already.

only one of us spouts bollocks ( do you want me to list all the things you have got wrong over recent weeks?) and at least I can spell and write in English!
Why is Frank still paying for the car? are you suggesting it is on lease?
what happens when the lease runs out, does Ricky have his gift taken back?
Why are the Hatton's disloyal, ungrateful and ungracious?
The contract came to an end, they gave SN the opportunity to renegotiate but they could not come up with the goods.
Did you not listen to Ricky's words of appreciation towards Frank at last years British Boxings Award?
Do they slag off SN or FW in the media or through people like you on sites such as this?
How often did you slag The Hatton's, Billy Graham, Fight Acadamy before last September?
I have no doubt FW will survive and continue to do what he is good at and I am sure the Hatton's wish him well it is a pity you can't seem to do the same.
The simple fact is he has decided to go with a different promoter and history will show if he made the right decision, but what is guaranteed is that for the next 3 fights his earnings will make him one of Britain's best paid sportsmen

Warren may have made Hatton aload of cash, but it works both ways, and Hatton is the one doing the real work in the ring for that cash.

Basically your pissed because he dumped SN to move onto bigger and better things. Shit you remind me of my ex

The last dollar for dollar contest FA had with SN, they lost.

It was for the Arthur - Gulyakevitch European title fight which SN won.

Should be a good fight too. On free TV as well. Good for Boxing and Boxing fans.

Going back to the original thread, I hear this is now going to be a 10 round non title fight.

If so, the PPV sales may well fall through the floor.

What a mess

I heard this tonite. 10 X 3 non-Title fight as WBA have said no. So what is the point of Ricky giving up two belts for this?

Seems a mess and he should bail out and stay at home before he makes a real mess of his career.

There is no point in fighting Collazo with nothing to gain is there.

Warren must be laughing his head off over this debacle.
