Valuev doesn't really throw single shots though either and not even as acurate as Vitali.
He relies mostly on his height and jab.
He's not even that strong and can be push back.
Why assume I'd day Tyson? Even Danny said he wouldn't of beat a prime Tyson and took it for the money and market value.

How does he not throw single shots? A jab is a single shot.

Vitali's single shots are more accruate though and he was using alot of combinations too.

Of course, but thats hardly a good gauge as Vitali absolutely anihilated him. Williams has never done anything to show he could beat someone as big as Valuev, as bad as Valuev is he is huge and can use his size sometimes to his advantage. I think he has more than enough to beat Williams.

He was made for Vitali and we know that.
Valuev is slower than Vitali and enough bodyshots combined with his height can exhaust him.
If Danny gains head movement and recks him on the inside then he can win.
Hopefully he's starting to care about being lighter now and at 240 odd Valuev gets destroyed.
The only good Eastern Euro is Wlad, the rest suck.
Oh yeah and Ithink it should of been 116 - 112 to Ruiz like Real Deal had it.

Williams will have to up his workrate vastly if he's to beat any of the 'title holders' he just doesn't throw enough punches. I still think the talent is there in Danny but its whether he can use it... he froze against Vitali and though he's beaten Harrison and Skelton since he hasn't looked as good as he was a few years ago...

I know you like Williams fair enough but he would start a big underdog against Valuev in anyone else book. Valuev is not the best by any means but I dont think Williams has the workrate or movement to beat him. He has looked like garbage in his last 4 fights since Klitschko beat him.
And Williams hasn't weighed 240 in almost 4 years, he's just never going to get anywhere near that weight again.

No doubt he'd be an underdog but he can be suprising as an underdog.
Ruiz looked garbage in most of his fights yet still won. Most of the heavies are but yet win.

I just dont see Williams showing anything new like this head movement you think he needs to beat Valuev. Williams is getting fatter, older and slower. He has never had good movement he has always been a plodder, and I never remember much head movement his whole career. And he's going to start that now while being bigger and heavier AND seemingly on the slide. Not going to happen.
And Ruiz has looked garbage but in world title fights and world level fights, Williams is looking garbage fighting domestic level and 2 absolute stiffs Petryiani and Serin - hardly comparable.

Looked decent against Skelton.
Skelton was thatdirty that you would look bad when he constantly wants to foul you!

Come on he got the win but he looked awful against Skelton. Hideous fight.

Because Skelton can't fight clean enough and was holding on for dear life when Danny bombed him in the 12th.

This reminds me of something Nicky Piper said before Tyson/Lewis.
He predicted a comfortable win for Lennox, stating that Mike absolutely
had to rediscover his superb head movement of old.
We know now he couldn't manage it.
There comes a point in most boxers' careers, where age causes them to break down to their basic skills.
Danny
shouldn't be suffering so much during what are usually prime years for a HW.
It's like he doesn't want to hurt anyone, that's very noble - and I respect him for it, but you can't play this game fairly.
If, during a fight you catch yourself 'letting them off the hook', it is time to retire.

Danny isn't going to improve his skills at this stage of his career. He is going to get caught by whoever he fights, and he's not looked good since the win over Tyson, and in that fight he took plenty of shots before clubbing Tyson to the canvas.

Come on! Granted Skelton added to the maul but Williams has looked terrible in his last 5 fights.

Skelton was the one who was shocking in their fight, he should have been disqualified.... Danny was the one doing the clean work and he finished the stronger too... as for it being a hideous fight I thought it was a good fight... a brawl but still good to watch...

Skelton was mostly to blame but Williams was leaning over the ropes and mauling a bit too. My point is Williams has not looked good since the Tyson fight. Its clear the Klitschko fight took a lot out of him. And I don't think he was that good to start with!

I think Skelton felt Dannys power early in their fight and this was the reason he fought like he did.... Dannys got an underrated punch and could stop Skelton in their rematch imo

I think thats possible, then again I have the feeling Skelton might have stopped Williams but for the slack ropes in the first fight he had him going a few times.
I think the overall point is if Williams is struggling to beat the likes of Skelton he is not going to be winning fights on the world stage now. As nice a guy as Skelton is his limitations are there for all to see.

Howcan one fight take something out of you?
He's not pyshically past it.
He looks better since the Klitschko fight so maybe a beating helped.

How can a beating like that have helped? Really.
You are sadly mistaken if you think he has looked better in his last 4 fights than he did pre-Klitschko. Better than he did in the Klitschko fight of course, but he is not fighting anywhere near that level now.
And a beating like he took against Klitschko can take a lot out of a fighter. He took an absolute hammering for 8 rounds against a concussive hitter and was hurt repeatedly. There is no way that could have helped him in any way shape or form!

Mistaken? How?
It's your opinion he's looking bad so I'm only mistaken to you.
The Skelton fight was entertaining.
Audley made Guinn look bad too.
He was obviously not in Klitschko's league hence why he took the hammering and it might of not took anything out of him, it could be the weight.

A hammering like that must have taken something out of him, you were suggesting before it might have helped him that is a ridiculous notion.
If you think Williams looked good against Petriyani, Harrison or Serin then I dont know what fights you were watching. He beat Harrison but he looked awful doing so. He did look a bit better than those 3 fights against Skelton but I still wouldnt say he looked that good.

by jamesmcdonnell
No, he looked awful against Skelton, slow, lumbering, one paced and reluctant on the whole. Skelton however was even worse, bags of heart, but just doesn't have the technique.
Compare Williams now to the fight's he had in the states he looked really good at that point, fast hands, aggressive, and even fairly mobile, throwing good combinations and forcing the fight. I don't know that Williams has ever looked that good since losing to Samil Sam, I wonder if that loss took something out of him mentally, the Klitchsko fight seems to have taken something from him physically.

If anything is taken out of him it would be mental by the looks of it.

No it's not, either are possible.
