8 rounds to 4, that's 116-112 2 points docked that's 114-112, so a close fight. I don't think most people had it 8-4 John, I remember reading fightnews, 3 of there reporters had it to John, and scottmalon on here had it to John also. Oh and Maxboxing also had Forrest beating Quartey, so I don't know how creditable they are.

In that fight tho' we saw Juan getting countered quite alot, and the deductions were abit harsh anyway. I only seen it once so I'l watch it again this week. He shouldn't of even been there in the first place, 30k!!

the thing is, the fightnews repprters were most probably Indonesian. Scott Mallon is a guy who covers South East Asian boxing. Was their judgement clouded in any way?

Well, that's excellent news! That's a very good sign that he's already in the gym. One thing about Scott, I don't think anyone can say he's ever skimped in training.

Whilst I am a big fan of Marquez, part of me will be rooting for Scott if they fight, gotta support anyone who seems to be trying to overcome their personal demons, which Scott seems to be.

I agree James, Marquez is a class act, well rounded Boxer and I have always been a fan of him. If it comes off, I'd like to see Scott win that fight, fair play to him for coming over to Belfast and getting stuck into training and trying to get on the right road. He's human at the end of the day and theres plenty of people in the world with their demons and at least he's one of the people facing them.

He's in good hands under the wing of John Breen at the city centre Boxing gym, the change and person that John is will help him so much. Hope to see him again at my gym, not every day you see a world class fighter training beside you

incidentally, it's kind of annoying that the WBO never made Calzaghe or Nelson fight anyone decent a la this fight.

Can you imagine around 1999 Calzaghe being ordered to fight someone like Mads Larsen or get stripped of his title?
