If not fight focus, who would you recommend for full shows from the 80's/90's other then Red Dragon. For Pic quality and price.
I've done a load of asking and it seems like no-one (apart from fight focus) can get the Hamed vs Hardy PPV in full for example.
Its a crying shame, cause I have it on tape but the tape has got a bit of damp and I'm trying to repair it.

I can vouch for Zendo - his stuff is always excellent.

No stranger than this one:
WILFREDO GOMEZ 28 FIGHTS 8 DISC SET £45
I wonder how many of those Gomez fights are actually top quality...

sorry caps
Still have 1600 tapes to convert to DVD yet, mate.
Get back to us on how many of your Wilfredo Gomez fights are good quality.
I've been trading/collecting for 20+ years and Gomez fights are extremely hard to come by in good condition. Yet you are offereing 28 of them at CBZ?
Quality over quantity is my motto, mate.

What is stranger yet is that i picked up that 28 fight WG set on ebay for less then ten quid over 6 months ago!
I am sure it must be the same one - same number of fights over same no of dvds.
On my set the quality isnt great but as WG is my favourite fighter, I was just glad to get hold of them!

10 quid sounds about right for those sorts of sets in mediocre quality.
I like watching Gomez myself. Very exciting fighter.
But it's so hard to get more than about 10 of his fights in decent quality.
Even the ones vs Ndukwa and Zarate which start off looking very nice run into problems that were there on the original transmissions. In the Ndukwa fight almost a whole round is lost through transmission failure and on the Zarate fight the penultimate round is ruined by continual breakup on the satellite. I have seen literally dozens of copies of both fights ands ALL have the same problems.

That's the thing with people who offer these large sets. Say they're offering 30 Winky Wright fights. How many of the 30 are top quality? How many are mediocre? How many are unwatchable?
It's a myth that you get all terrific ones.
IMO the crap needs weeding out. If the picture quality is like looking through a grimy bus window, then what is the point?

OK, mate. I'll take you up that Gomez - Ndukwa one then.
All 4 rounds in good condition, yes? No breakup, no transmission failure, not fuzzy 3rd generation crap?
Is it in NTSC or PAL?
Where can I see your list? Not just the sets.
How much for one DVD?

id suggest buying it from red dragon
as for anyone who expects to pay 10 pounds for a dvd set
hahaha
good luck
if you buy crap from ebay you get crap
i take weeks if not months to put together compilations
I dunno mate I am quite happy with the numerous career sets I have picked up at bargain prices...45 quid for something I paid a tenner for seems like madness to me.
Good luck to anyone who falls for your over priced sets I say!!

find my tyson set of 30 discs with over 40 hours of documentaries on ebay for 10 quid and i will show my arse in woolies window
if you are happy with cheap crap so be it..........
and please dont confuse what i sell with tat that you have paid buttons for on ebay
as ive allready pointed out that gomez set is unavailable anyway as my masters are scratched and i will have to go back to the super vhs originals and re transcode it
and why on earth would you connect it with some crap youve bought anyway as i made the set myself and have never ever sold it on ebay nor seen anyone else sell it
if they did i would have their accounts removed straightaway
mate you can give it all the bull5hit you want I couldnt give a monkeys - how do you know all the sets I bought are rubbish? let me who has watched them be the judge of that!
All I know is that I paid a fractio of waht you are charging for your and have had many, many hours of enjoyment as a result.
I am not a trader/seller, nor do I have any axe to grind so make of my comments what you will.
My James Toney set has 64 fights on it and I paid £20 for it. The quality is plenty good for my purposes and if someone wants to pay you 50/60 quid for only 50 fights then good luck to em!
I bought a few stinkers through ebay - Fernando Vargas & George Foreman for example..
but also bought some great ones like Pernel Whitaker (38 fights), De lA hoya (complete career), Roy Jones (complete), Salvador Sanchez (17 fights) for a fraction of what you are charging.
If that makes me a mug, then so be it

All I can say is that in its time ebay has served me greatly - nearly 40 Barrera fights and a similar amount for Morales were great aquisitions.
You sound genuine and good luck to you mate - at the end of the day we are all fight fans who like to wtach the fights!

I would imagine it would mean reporting the seller for copyright infrigement - I know De La Hoya's people used to have ebay block sales on his career set...

So he (4playfights) owns the rights to the fights then?

Whats up with these members who only post about selling dvds fights? Do they even follow the sport/business or are they only in it to make some quick cash. 16 dvds for £60 is a rip off to me as it only costs about 10% to cover the costs. I recommend watching fights on Youtube or finding these downloading sites.

No he is breaking the law but hes taking advantage of promoters/tv companies not doing anything about it.

I know, I was just making a point (in a roundabout way) regarding him feeling aggrieved and banning peoples e-bay accounts should they re-sell his career sets on e-bay. When in fact he's doing the same thing to the tv companies. Hypocritical?
