Actually that is very cheap indeed, I'm looking at going with a bunch of people, and getting an apartment at the MGM grand for 6 days, which works out about 180 quid a head, plus 400 quid flights, and then ticket on top, which works out about 1200 dollars or more, but for a longer stay.

If I cannot get the numbers interested, I'll be looking to go anyhow and your deal looks pretty good.

Agreed, am looking to do something similar and considering all options. I'll be booking in early Jan and will be doing a trip to New York after Vegas, before coming home.

I was going to ask you James if this was a good deal as I have no idea when it comes to the States. Seen as it is i'm going to give it alot of consideration. Stupid question because it varies between people but generally for 4 days in Vegas how much cash would be needed?

It depends how big a gambler you are. I'm not really that into gambling, so for me Vegas is cheap. Food is relatively cheap, the MGM buffet I think was about 22 dollars, or 11 quid, for all you could eat, but there are lots of much much cheaper places to eat outside of the biggest casinos.

Bear in mind that after Caesar's palace, Venice, and Bellagio's MGM is probably the next best hotel, the rooms are fekking huge.

Flights alone are going to set you back about £450+, and the rooms in the MGM are going to be quite expensive around Cinqo de Mayo, and they cost more at weekends anyway.

You don't have to stay at the MGM of course, but if the fight is there, it would make sense to stay there.

If you stayed for 6 days starting on the 3rd and leaving on the 8th, it would cost you a grand total of $1500 so about 800 quid. Flights another £450 +, and then a ticket on top.

You're looking at 1500 quid plus spending money.

It can be done a lot cheaper than that if you have a few of you sharing, as those rooms will sleep up to 4.

I'm not a big gambler so i wouldn't spend too much on it. I'm a tight bastard and would be sick if I lost too much. So judging by your estimates, the deal at citiboxer looks very good. Around £800 plus spending money. Me and Kevo were thinking we would need about a grand each for spends.

If you ain't a big gambler, Vegas is not an expensive place to be, if you want to, you can spend a fortune on expensive meals and tickets for shows etc, but it can be done on a pretty easy budget without feeling like a bum. It's best to go with someone though as I went on my own last time, and it's a bit confusing and boring on your own, go with a mate or try and hook up with people over there.

you're right james!! vegas can definitely be done "on the cheap"!!

not only by putting 2-3 guys in a room at motel 6 (see link below), but MANY of the casinos offer very reasonably priced meals and/or ALL YOU CAN EAT buffets as a lure to draw in the high rollers, but many average joes take advantage of that too!!

but if you do want to stay at motel 6 definitely get a "courtesy hold" reservation SOON!! there are only a few motel 6s in vegas & the rooms will be booked very early, if they havent been already!!

I eat until I made myself feel really ill at the MGM Grand buffet off the back of a terrible hangover. The food was terrific actually, but I felt so awful off the back of a horrendous round the clock drinking session that I couldn't really enjoy it.

The night/morning after the Marquez v Pacquaio fight I ended up with a pint in my hand in some sort of English theme pub off the strip at 11 in the morning where I'd got chatting to some vaguely neo-nazi types. Scary stuff.

Round the clock drinking is very dangerous for those who aren't use to it.

Indeed it was! I had met up with someone in Vegas guy called Chris Bronte who was from the UK who wrote for fightnews, it was his local.

A very strange place indeed. Seemed like the sort of place you could get kicked to death in the carpark if things went wrong.

I quite like the Crown & Anchor. Going to see a big rugby games at 6.00 AM in the morning after a night on the lash is one of the best ways to end a night in Vegas.

I am so excited about it.
