Maybe you will be proved correct ... however what people are conveniently forgetting is that Dodson has had plenty to write concerning various aspects ... indeed he will state a lot of it was merely banter ...
I have to indeed agree with Ben Carey who stated that isn't it strange that Dodson has to come onto a boxing forum only a few days before a fight to drum up some form of confidence and support when in the final week before a fight he should be completely focussed on the fight ... for me his visit here and elsewhere shows a complete and utter lack of confidence and he wants that much needed pat on the back from some of you before Froch gives him a beating.

Focussed? Well he's been posting about Froch so he's focused on him alright or just updating us about how trainings going.

Tony Dodson has posted here for a while its not just for this fight.

Of course Tony Dodson is as far from the definition of a keyboard warrior as you'll ever get: he is actualy the real thing, a boxer who gets in the ring and fights for a living.
And he's been posting here for awhile now, so there's no reason for him to suddenly go quiet just because the fight night is approaching.
Best of luck Tony

I'm somewhat surprised by some of the comments on here with regard to Dodson.
At the end of the day, whatever my opinions might be about Dodson pulling out of previous fights, or any comments he's made, or the fact that he is on here posting, the guy has bollocks much bigger than mine (and that's saying something because mine are like space hoppers) because he actually has the stones to get in the ring and take his lumps.
I think it's highly disrespectful to call any professional fighter a 'keyboard warrior' whilst sitting at the comfort of a desk spouting off coments.
For what it's worth, I expect Froch to win, but fair play to the man who is going in there to prove me wrong.
Good luck to both men, and let's hope nobody gets seriously hurt in there.

although my day and possibly my life is now tainted by the image of james' unfeasibly large gonads, I echo his sentiments
I hope Dodson wins, I expect Froch to win. I have respect for anyone who gets in the ring where I would not dare to and, if I met either of these two gentlemen on a cold, wet Saturday night in Glasgow and they told me it was a sunny tuesday in Benidorm, I would agree with them
Whatever the size of my knackers
Good luck Tony

How can my opinion be disrespectful when its based on fact? I would like to clarify something. I'm not saying Tony doesn't have "balls", all boxers have that, however I do think Dodson lacks a certain amount of heart and self-belief when the going gets really tough.
And, based on that, I think he'll fold late on tomorrow night. Dodson, and the happy clappers who salute his every post, irritate me because they aren't prepared to take constructive criticism yet are more than happy to lavish it upon Carl Froch.
Yet the hypocrites that they are would welcome Froch with open arms if he made a guest appearance on here, or any other forum. It's great that boxers like Dodson take time out to speak to the fans but usually it's just for self-promotion and to obtain some pats on the back.
I wonder if Dodson will pop in next week after he's been beaten. I remember when Dodson came on one of the forums larging it when he had (initially) accepted a fight with Froch for a third time. He was full of what he was going to do and then...... silence. Dodson went on the missing list for weeks. He couldn't bring himself to tell "his fans" that he'd infact done a huge turn and bottled the fight.
Fair weather. That's Dodson.

The only keyboard warrior here is you mate... whether Dodson wins or loses I'd guess that his balls are about 10 times bigger than yours mate and you need to have some respect for someone who actually gets in the ring and puts it on the line rather than just spouts off crap about someone having no balls from the comfort of their laptop in their bedroom....

I've already said that Dodson has balls for stepping through the ring. However, with regards to Froch that's all Dodson has been so far - a keyboard warrior shouting the odds but without supporting his words. After pulling out three times Dodson's predictable rants have become a little tiresome.

Does anybody else think that the promotional build up to this one has been shit? Have they sold out the tickets?
Whatever happened to the Sky "Ringside" show that used to be on every Wednesday or Thursday. Pity that's gone, it would be great to have a show this week on Dodson and Frochs careers to date, along with interviews, training footage and studio analysis.

I do personally agree with Spud, I don't think I would be spending my final week on a computer. This forum malarky can be addictive, and I am sure someone didn't just write a post - without reading alot.
However, each to their own in terms of final week prep... The main work has been done and we don't know if Tony just got someone to write the one message and it wasn't actually him on the CPU.
Also I don't blame Tony if he needs a bit of "support", the man has dealt with not just minor niggles but career threatening injuries. This fight is coming a bit too soon in his comeback and he's even broken down (injury wise) during fight week in the past. I don't think confidence is as high as before all the injuries.... so if he thinks us forum members can help, then why not use us. Trying to gather as much confidence as possible in the build up shouldn't be condemmed, but respected - each to his own, obviously Carl uses different ways to build confidence and that should be respected also. There is no right or wrong way. He did once announce his retirement, so obviously he has gone through some dark times with the injuries and like Jono Thaxton and Dean Francis, should be applauded for his comeback.
I don't think the heart of Dodson should be questioned. The guy fought Brian Barbosa at a week's notice in his early 20's. His last defeat (I believe) ended on a bad cut.... yes he was out of sorts and losing, but he didn't ask the fight to be stopped and he didn't moan about the terrible cut.
Yes, you can question his consistency, stamina and ability in the past - but his heart? Nope. If you Ben think Tony bottled it vs Froch then thats your opinion... there is no fact to it though cause the official line was injury.
Now Robin Reid originally turning down Jeff Lacy was more likely to be a bottle job. Reid was fine physically, but at the time it sounded like he wanted to go down a different route.

What a total retard alert.
Whats wrong with self promotion even if it is that reason? You might as well complain about Froch's PR then. Froch is doing more self promotion than Tony and traveling for it.

I am unsure why Dodso is coming in for critism from so many quaters re: previously cancelled fights with Froch. As far as I am aware he had a much publicised back injury from a car crash (which had him out for an extended period) and hen suffered a nose injury during training.
#
Both seem perfectly valid and understandable reasons to pull out - and the important thing is that he is jumping in with Froch despite not having the ideal lead up to the biggest fight of his career.
He is rightfully an underdog and is going in with a touted, in-form, world rated former amateur star away from home. I dont know how anyone can question his cajones??
I would like to see Dodson do the business- I rated him since he stepped in at short notice and bashed up Barbosa. Despite an injury blighted career thus far I think he is a good fighter and will give Froch a decent arguement. Dunno if he can beat him,but good luck nonetheless!

Let me make something perfectly clear despite some of the bollocks written by some posters who are saying the opposite about myself and Ben Carey ...
I actually respect Dodson as a fighter ... I also highly respect him for getting into the ring with a fighter like Carl Froch ... I will say again ... in my opinion Carl Froch is a world class fighter and Dodson is in my view a domestic class fighter who has done extremely well for himself.
Dodson in my view has come onto these forums to court favour and support and all because the likes of me and others disagree with him we are the ones that are disrespful?? ... absolutely mystifying!!!
I will state yet again for those who try to twist absolutely everything and only read certain posts with "selective" reading ...
I hope Tony Dodson will leave the ring 2morrow evening nice and healthy so he can re-enter the banter on the respective forums ... but I am not going to begin to suggest I wish him luck 2morrow because I don't!!! I want and think Froch will thoroughly outclass him and then Froch will go onto proving what a world class boxer he is ...
As for Dodson ... clearly a courageous boxer who has done fantastically well for himself ... but as a person I cannot stand him and think he is rather shallow that it is he who resorted to the insults first concerning Froch and just because a couple of months ago I started calling him "Dodgeson" because there is a clear audit trail of him failing to turn up for whatever reasons to fight Froch then it is me who is the criminal.
I want Carl Froch to win ...
I want Carl Froch to win by KO ...
I want Carl Froch to win by a thoroughly convincing and world class performance.
If Dodson wins ... I have no problems in congratulating the better man ... no problems at all!!!

But as is usual the self promoting Joseph's come out of the woodwork looking to make a name for themselves.

Makes me laugh some of these comments. I can see where Spud and Ben Carey are coming from. It's fine to abuse Froch with some pretty disrespectful and disgusting comments, but woe betide anyone who has similar negative stuff to say about the opponenet.
Of course, it's great that this fight (which should really sell itself it's that good a fight) is causing a stir and getting so many posts and opinions. Just a shame some of it has become quite nasty.
If Dodson wins, I'll be first in the queue to eat humble pie, but no matter how Froch wins I can't help but feel it will just be the usual suspects picking world class boxers out of the air and saying Froch can't beat them, will be exposed etc, etc. Never mind Froch will have won the Londsdale outright and has achieved a lot to date whilst treading a path boxing fans can recognise and taking on whoever the BBBofC order.
How many other boxers would have after being pulled out on 3 times, would still given them a chance to challenge for their title ? Not many.

To be honest, the only comment I wasn't really down with was the 'keyboard warrior' tag, without being personal, Ben knows I've got nothing against him. I just think it's more than a little ironic for any of us here who aren't involved in the pain game to call someone is a 'keyboard warrior.'
I've no particular personal interest in the career of Dodson, I've not really followed him over the years, and my main opinion of him is formed in the light of this contest and the extended preamble to it. As I've said before, good luck to both men, may the best man win.

He's pulled out with injuries hasnt he??.... I realise that may be a little bit of a difficult concept for you to take in, but most of the people on this forum have IQ's over 50.... calling Dodson a 'keyboard warrior' just shows how biased and ill-informed you are... what have you ever done in the ring?... diddly squat I'd say!... as for feeding me humble pie, I've never said that Dodson will win, Froch should win but I'm sure Tony will put up a good fight and if Froch plays silly buggers like he has in his last few fights then Dodson could win... Frochs problem is that like many of his sycophantic fans, he thinks he's far better than he actually is and sooner or later that arrogance will catch him out....
