Froch should jump at the chance to fight clinton. Its a world title shot , he's ready for it and at 29 its about time too. I would pick Froch to win.

i thinki that frochs engine would be too much for clinton, and im being honest with my view, froch carries his power through the 12 rounds and is quite lean at SM...

Have to say I am a tadge concerned about Mr Hennessy ... he really needs to get a bigger suit in my opinion ... he looked fit to burst!!! and to say Froch is a bigger fight than Clinton Woods for Calzaghe at this stage is plain barking mad!!!
But back to Froch ... impressed.
mick hennessy has put on weight, but im told that the reason is he can now afford more food...

Clinical display by Froch - which is exactly how a world class fighter should handle domestic opposition.
Sentimentality aside, Dodson talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk, though I thought he boxed an effective opening round. Sadly, when the going got tough, Dodson got going.
Great body shot indeed, but I thought the pre-fight exchanges and the fact that Dodson was competing for the British title he never lost in the ring would have galvanised him to get up with only a few seconds in the round remaining.
Obviously not. I did expect Dodson to fold, just not that early.

hard for us to judge ben, its not nice having the wind taken from your sails, i think the huge uppercut he shipped could also have had a bit to do with it. but even when the ref finished counting dodson was still unable to rise.
im not gonna knock tony on this one, he was in there battling and was short of the pace, dodson will come again at domestic top level, froch will move onwards and upwards. how far froch can go is a complete mystery, his efence worries me, but his chin seems good, his artillery and engine are also top notch. i feel he has a chance with absolutely anyone.

I wouldn't give him a chance with anyone. I'd love to see him in with Allan Green or Anthony Mundine. I think he would beat Green but lose to Mundine. I think he'd fare better against Kessler than he would against Calzaghe but would lose both fights, and I think himself in with Taylor would be great for as long as it lasted.

but surelyjohn, your post has just indicated that froch has a chance against anyone, even if its a punchers one. one thing for sure, the cobra will not hide in his shell, he has gone on to knock people out with a broken hand..

You're right, he doesn't seem to hide from anybody. I don't really see him being as good as Calzaghe, Kessler, Taylor or Mundine, but I do give him an ok chance against Mundine, but not a huge chance against the others. I hope he proves me wrong, it would be great for Froch to be in the position where Joe C is now as I can't imagine he'd have the same "safety first" attitude that Calzaghe has and the big fights would be made.

Seemed to me like Dodson did try to rise around 8, but flinched as he realised he couldn't straighten up in time - looked a perfect finisher of a body shot.
Great finish by Froch, but think he got a shock in the opener when Tony caught him flush with that left hand - but his chin is good, and that plus his confidence, heart and punch will take him far.
But his defence is going to mean he'll take a lot of punishment as he moves up with the top guns.
It must drive his corner absolutely mad.

Congratulations to Froch on a very convinving performance AND winning a Lonsdale belt outright. It's richly deserved. Once he got into his stride in the third it was soon over.
Hard luck to Dodson, he clearly came to win and tried his best. Froch must be moving on soon so I'd like to see Dodson battle back and try and win the British title again in due course.
I'd like to see Froch get hold of the EBU belt but this doesn't sound like a smooth route from what Hennessy said afterwards, so alternatively a move in to top ten class and then an eliminator would do nicely.
Well done Frochy, I'm enjoying the journey!

He beat a credible fighter easily which is the best he could do. Would like to see him take a European shot now, think he could deffinatly beat Mundie (anyone who Ottke can KO).
Is the finnish on youtube anywhere (for those of us who were travelling to Blackpool for work on friday night).

I would like to see Dodson back in the British title mix when and if Froch vacates but not just yet. I think he needs regular fights, slowly working his way back up again to restore confidence. He is still quite young.
