The fight hasn't been signed yet, both parties are supposed to be meeting up soon (this week I'd imagine) to confirm the 'finer' details and to sign the contracts

They do say the devil is in the detail... I'll be waiting until both men have climbed through the ropes before getting genuinely excited... (Mark Hobson on standbye).

Haye said "terms have been just agreed for me to fight Enzo Maccarinelli Live on ITV- April 7th. " so I'd hope that this includes the major stumbling blocks such as ££££'s, 'options', promotional rights and the TV broadcaster.

Could be merely trying to force Warren's hand, it's been known to happen before in negotiations, where one party says terms have been agreed, so they can then lay the blame at the other party when they turn around and say that nothing has been agreed yet. Strange that if terms are not agreed there has been no announcement as yet. I suspect this is mere sabre rattling.

This stuff on the BBC website is brilliant:
"Enzo is world champion and should be taking the lion's share," said Warren.
"Asking for £250,000 for Haye is outrageous. If Haye is so confident, he should step up and take a few risks."
Warren added: "Haye fights in front of a few hundred people at (London's) York Hall.
"Meanwhile, Maccarinelli is a genuine world champion, appears on prime time ITV and personally sold 3,000 tickets for one of his fights."
Enzo is a genuine world champion?? He inherited a WBO version after Johnny Nelson was unable to defend against him, hardly went into the lions den and brought it back to Britain with a stirring come-from-behind KO win did he? And then he defended once against British level operator Mark Hobson who was only in there fighting for a "world" title after a courageous performance at short notice in there first fight
Plus when did the WBO become genuine

let's see what some other fighters think of Enzo - cruierweight BJ Flores, over at Eastsideboxing.
"Flores: Enzo is a big, tall, strong guy who comes at you in a straight-forward manner. Maccarinelli has benefited greatly from Joe Calzaghe’s fame. I don’t feel that Enzo has earned his title, and a victory over Mark Hobson for his WBO crown proves that. Maccarinelli has been protected greatly by allegedly and people want to see Enzo fight because he is Welsh and has gotten good support from Welsh fans and Calzaghe. Enzo is easily the most unproven titlist and I have David Haye knocking him out. Maccarinelli is right there in front of you fighting and he gives you nothing but power, so Haye and his speed and power would stop Maccarinelli."

I don't see any reason for believing this one will come off.
If it does however, Haye wins easily in a very one sided fight. Really not a 50/50 at all.

A quick glance at BJ's record shows that he won the prestigious WBF All-Americas Cruiserweight Title last year, which was, you'll all be shocked to hear, vacant at the time.
I'm amazed he wasn't brought over here for a WBU fight.

What the feck is Warren blurting on about? "Haye should take some risks"? Haye has taken plenty of risks in his career.More like Enzo should prove to Britain he not a paper title holder,which is exactly what he appears to be.
David is the number one contender for the real world champion. A loss to Enzo should see that go up in smoke. Also, if Maccarinelli is a good as Warren spouts off about him then surely, again, Haye is taking a risk taking him on?
Warren should shut up and just make the match. It will be, potentially,the best thing him and ITV will have offered the viewers since they hooked up.

well said. Maybe Haye is better off waiting for Bell, as Stu said. Haye won't be regarded as a champ if he beats Enzo, though he will clearly be best in Britain (a good feat nonetheless, as we've always had top drawer cruiserweights) with a higher profile.
I wonder why it's taking so long to 'announce.' Has it been cancelled leaving all participants embarrassed? Or is there loads of frantic haggling going on?

Will Warren want this on the Calzaghe bill in April? I guess it would mean more seats sold in the stadium. But he could put it on as a standalone bill and another ITV date filled.... that could be the holdup I guess trying to work out the economics of both options. There could be many things holding up an announcement I suppose.

I've heard conflicting reports about this fight. It says on teletext that Macarinelli has already signed to fight Haye but Haye is still mulling it over. I though Haye was the one who made the offer in the first place? There are probably some last minute negotiations to be done but I'm hopeful that this fight is going to be made pretty soon. As long as both promoters are not being silly and asking for a ridiculous money split.
