You can't throw counters if the opponent is too scare/defensive to throw counters, ie Kotelnik/CorleyTerence wrote:These Witter counters are a bit like boxing itself, full of mystique and promise but they rarely deliver, especially now the ante has been upped. When did he last throw counters all night?nickd wrote:Seriously, Hatton clearly doesn't fancy chasing Witter around eating counters all night. This has been going on for years. Excuse after excuse. First Witter brought nothing to the table Hatton said he would have to win a belt first. Witter now has a belt and its more excuses.
Lets hope Castillo makes 140 at this weeks weigh in there have been rumours to the contrary. Hatton needs the Castillo fight next.
Witter has brought a belt to the table but, solely down to himself, is in the position that the belt now means next to nothing, it was a vacant title picked-up in one of the poorest fights I can recall watching.
I would have loved to have seen Hatton-Witter, five years or so ago yet Warren did not make the fight and was 100% right not to make it as only one party brought anything to it.
When you think about the fight taking place next year you only need to read this thread for it to leave you cold. A reflexively fading pot-shotter who never puts in a full round let alone a fully paced fight taking on a guy who is said to be on the wane, lives like a pig and was lucky to get his stripes anyway. Sounds like a doozy to me. Reading this strand makes you wonder why the big anticipation![]()
Witter needs to produce the goods this weekend, more so than at any point in his career. This guy will probably come at him so no excuses, if there are some big shots followed by a long fade to the final bell the Witter highlight reel, which he needs to market this fight, will consist of him talking about Hatton.
As for Castillo, we'll see what happens when they step on the scales, this time last week Hatton was having weight problems all because a shot was taken of him looking thin and pasty, which is odd when you consider he went from a rainy shit-hole, via a long-haul flight straight back into more intensive training!
Your right about Castillo, but didn't he only make 139 when trying to make 135 last time - it depends if he was genuinely cheating or not I suppose
