Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote: Are you forgetting he offered Cotto a fight at 140 but Arrum said Cotto wasn't ready for Floyd yet. So let the records show Floyd tried to make the fight with both Cotto and Hatton - both camps said their fighter wasn't ready at that time.

Lets look who Floyds been turned down by flat - Mosley, Hatton, Cotto. Judah/Gatti both were risks and had the power to finnish the fight with 1 shot and Mitchell/Baldomir were risky to some extent.

Delahoya-Mayweather a 50-50 because of DLHs sheer size and ability
It all comes down to who you believe. Those of you with inside knowledge obv know differently to us lot, but i dont believe anything a fighters team say about matchups gone bad. look at haye-enzo, they are both blaming eachother. And as for PBF asking out Cotto and Cotto not being ready, well that is another example of a risk avoidance, looking for a fighter who is not ready. You have half a point, in that the fight could have been made but wasnt, but if PBF turns it down now or in the future, what is the defence for that? I've moved on? from what? fighting the best? theres no defence for it if you set yourself up as king of the castle you take on everyone or get the mud slung at you. Check my posts i have given Hatton and Calzaghe as much stick as anyone, but no-one can tell me PBF is somehow 'above' criticsim.
Who you believe? Well how about Mosley publically turning Mayweather down? How about Hattons father publically saying they turned down 3-4 offers because the stage was not ready for the fight to happen. How about Arrum publically stating Cotto wasn't ready after a few WBO title fights?

As for Mayweather-Tyszu - Mayweather talked about it (he started to trash talk Tyszu a little calling him a 1 handed fighter) and it was supposed to happed after Tyszu fought Hatton. Tyszu lost and Hatton and Cotto weren't ready for Mayweather. So he went after Judah who was Linear Welter champ. Judah screwed that 1 up and Hatton was offered Judahs opponent. But despite that he still fought 2 linear welterweight champs back to back and is now fighting 1 of the greatest fighters of the last 10 years who is coming off a big win and has the WBC belt at 154.
So far all you've done is give examples of he said, she said, and tried to pass it off as gospel. Who cares about what the 35 year old Mosley said? As for Cotto and Hatton, lets see if Mayflower is keen to fight Miguel now that the whole world knows he no longer has to kill himself to make weight.

The Hatton thing is just your fanboy take on things. Hatton said he would fight Mayflower for 13 million. Who the fvck is that lowlife to decide it was too much money. The moron cant count past his hands and feet. What he knows about economics could be written on a pinhead and still leave room fo Tolstoys War and Peace. He also alledgedly turned down 20 million to go to Manchester and fight Hatton, his excuse being he would get robbed over here.

Until you can post copies of contracts, and copies of written rejections of those contracts, your opinions are just that, OPINIONS.

Hattons dad said they turned down 5 offers - its not he said, she said - Hattons dad publically said to the media they turned down those offers. hatton publically said he wasn't ready for Mayweather before Mayweather moved to 147. NOW ARE YOU CALLING RICKY HATTON AND HIS FATHER LIARS?

Mayweather said they demanded $13m - Hattons made what $3m-$5m at mostfor a career high payday. Mayweathers made $8m tops in his career. The fight would probably be worth $15-18m tops to be split 2 ways - so yes asking for $13m is pricing yoruself out of the fight. Why don't you start a thread asking if Hatton asking for $13m to face Mayweather is pricing himself out - practically every poster here would say it is.

Mayweather has NEVER been offered a fight in Manchester and certainly not for $20m - you made that 1 up didnt you Andy. Who offered him it - Warren  Steptoe and Son  - they haven't got the backing to offer him a penny over $4m and everyone in boxing knows it. NOW mayweather said in principle he wouldn't goto Manchester because of the dodgy refs - Hatton himself knows fighting in Manchester wouldn't maximise the fight potential anyway AND HATTON WOULD WANT IT IN VEGAS NOT MANCHESTER - theres more money in it

Anyway on a none argumentive note - here a cool link for someone with such a great name: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... 9548e2adc9

I'm not a big fan of the PBF personality...AT ALL - and while he's looking one of the most brilliant fighters of the last 20 years or so, I wouldn't mind seeing someone bring him back down too earth with a jolt.

To be honest I'd prefer if it wasn't Oscar though, as he's had enough GLORY already. He'd probably start a new religion if he beats PBF.

I don't think there's anyone Floyd would bother to avoid if the money was right though: with that self belief he has, that he's the 2nd coming, I doubt even in his wildest dreams he believes there's a chance he could get beat.

Though Margarito might give him second thoughts, because with his size, speed and power he'd be a nightmare over 12 you'd think.
ODH hits just as hard though...

Can ANYONE give us some details of the supposed Mayweather-Hatton fights that were turned down? One of the few things I've seen in print is an interview in The Times where Ray Hatton said that he'd declined a few offers, but after the Tszyu fight he'd expect 'A more realistic' offer from Mayweather's team now.

The only other things I've read have been Hatton himself discussing the $13 million claim, and Mayweather talking about how Hatton won't fight him and how they 'never even talked about money'

Seriously, I don't think you can believe anyone in boxing when it comes to discussions. There's so much bollocks.

Thats right on the money. I Dont believe a fight is on till I see it on Boxrec or Boxing News schedule. and even then not always comes off. I think they are all liars. Especially when it comes to what a bad-ass they are and how no one wants to fight them. They would not be out of place with the Internet Hardmen on here ffs, with the rare exceptions.

Ive said it before but no one listens. You as a boxer can say 'ill fight anyone' and mean it. TV says - you cant fight him hes too low profile. The opponent says - hes too dangerous to my perfect record, i have a WBO shot in 6 months. Promoter says - he cant deliver enough money for my cut let alone your purse. And so on and so forth. The end result being that you say youll fight anyone, and your opponent gets announced, and you look like a pudendum, but its not your decision.

And lets not get into the excuses of the fights.....

Hatton had a cold, not Hatton is suffering the effects of making weight.

Collazo hurt his hand, not Collazo would have lost had he had an extra gloved arm.

PBF hurt his hand, not PBF is actually respectful of his opponents power (god forbid)
