I am responsible for the death of over 100 ants by drowning.

The summer of 1983 i dug a pit filled it with water in the middle of an ants nest. I am not sure the total fatalities but it must of been 100+

My coviction from the Box Rec posters, i got what i deserved

A bloodclot on the brain, weeks in a coma and extensive brain damage. Loss of eyesight, ability to walk and 80 percent deaf.
Do you personally not have a problem with an individual who tapes a labs mouth shut and lets a pitbull rip it limb from limb?

So you liken a dogs life who can be loyal, loving and also an intelligent animal to the life of an ant? (lets just put to aside the fact he beat women so bad they'd have to be rushed to hospital)

I don't have an ounce of sympathy for GMAN, he commited acts of immense evil and I think there are far better causes than helping such an evil man.

I won't say I'm glad for his demise, although I do see the world as a better place with him unable to harm any innocent animals or women.

No i think what he is reported to have done is very sad and cruel. But his punishment is not fitting to the crime.

Yes he needs a good kick in the bollocks, be banned from ever owning an animal in his life, fined massive ammounts of money.
I do not however feel he deserves the punishment he is getting now. Neither would any normal person.

I dont care about ants i do like dogs it was just a silly story, but as much as a wanker gman might be he has paid the price of his crimes and some!

I'm sure we've all got the odd skeleton in our closet, something we've done that isn't strictly right, just or moral.. Or maybe we've been on the receiving end of a theft, a beating, an injustice and found comfort in the idea that "what goes around, comes around".. To be honest, that's often the way life goes.. But I know this, as much as I'd fuckin hate to witness some of the shit that GMan is accused of here, I challenge those that say he deserved it to actually look the fella in the eyes these days and really think about the pain, grief and suffering that he's now had to endure and say "good, i'm glad he's like that", because to be honest, that will say a lot about your lack of compassion too..

I wouldn't go that far. He is after all a human being ( alledgedly ) But I think we should all remember that at least he had a referee and a doctor on hand, even if the medical support was inadequate in those days. The dogs only have a load of evil scum baying for their blood. Certainly no vet on hand.

Inadequate medical support? It was the ADEQUATE medical support that saved his life. He was in Hospital in record time and stabalised in minutes. Get your facts right. Six doctors, an aneathetist, two teams of Paramedics and two fully equipped ambulances. Better than the two Physio's that attended John Terry yesterday if that was a Boxer can you imagine the uproar?
I stand corrected. it was in fact the Watson / Eubank fight that was inadequately medically supervised, which led directly to the improvements that saved McClellans life.

I tend to agree with this post. He deserves all you have said and probably a bit more, but no one deserves to be left in the condition he is in. And I will be honest and admit I prefer the company of animals to most humans, particularly kids. I wish them no harm, but I dont like them near me.

Right let's get something clear hear shall we. The reputed animal abuse which Gerald committed, as far as I am aware, the 'evidence' such as it is for this, comes from an interview conducted with a former business associate of Gerald's. This guy told the reporter all of these things about Gerald, now, I don't know if it's true or not, but, I hardly think a disgruntled former business associate who by his own admission had been shuffled out of the picture by McClellan, is what I would call a cast-iron testimony now is it?

Can anyone else please offer me any other evidence of Geralds crimes against humankind other than the words of a bitter former employee?

animal abuse is wrong but for you to so obviously put animals and their rights on a higher plane than humans puts you on the fringe where the PETA psychos dwell---you know, the kind of folks who release experimental animals from labs without forethought or concern for whether one of them could endanger/injure humans in the area!!

James, Gerald himself used to boast about this stuff. 1 week before the fight in the ITV preview hes boasting about the dog fighting and his killer dogs. He talked about this openly, often.

As far as the other stuff, his ex trainer Stan Johnson who knew Gerald from a kid tells plenty of tales, and he actually liked Gerald a lot, just thought he was a bit nutty.

You're bang out of order. People like me who give animal lovers a bad name? Mate, unlike a lot of ppl, I take full care of my dog. How many ppl, for instance, buy cats and live near a main road only for them to get flattened by a car & buy another one the next week?

How many ppl can't be arsed to take their dog to the vet's for even regular checkups leading to all sorts of infections and illnesses? How many ppl take a potentially volatile animal on a field, and let it loose which shits up anyone who's going on a quiet bloody walk with their own dog?

There are some slack wankers in the world who have no clue about looking after an animal.

I've got an English Bull Terrier - we always have to have someone in the house with him in case he destroys something and eats it. Guess what, we do. And also, we'd get broken into by wankers like Gerald to take him, cut his fvcking ears off, torture him & use him as a fighting dog. I've been followed by all sort sof shifty wankers.

Don't dare tell me how to look after an animal.

McClellan was always one of my favorite fighters and I followed his career closely, but I don't recall him talking about ANY of these acts of cruelty being mentioned here and elsewhere - like James says, it all comes from his ex trainer ( the hero who got him "right" for the Benn fight no doubt, instead of Manny Steward )

Maybe he said he bred fighting dogs, like millions of others on the planet.

It's all rumours, and Gerald is in no position to answer back, so deserves the benefit of the doubt at least.

What about Roy Jones? Just chickens I suppose....though the right tactics for working out if your fighting birds have fighting blood, is to take one of them, cut its legs off, set it on fire, then put it in front of another bird and see what happens.

If it's a good un, he'll keep pecking till he keels over in flames.

Nice stuff eh.

I'm not saying it cannot be true, but just because a couple of people in an interview with a journalist for the Observer say it's so, doesn't make it so. From reading various boxing biographies, former trainers and family members make for very poor testimony.

Terence wrote:I actually broke up a dog-fighting circle last night. They barricaded me in and I grabbed the first weapon to hand, a snarling 'killer-dog' pit-bull and swang it around by its tail as it viciously bit people who entered its trajectory.

We then made our escape and I handed the poor animal into the local police station, where it was put down as Daily Mail readers screamed "Kill the devil dog!"

The RSPCA are a load of sanctimonious tossers. They took my mums cat away because she was terminally ill and put her down because they thought she should not suffer and that the cat wanted it this way (after a neighbour had inquired about the cats health then grassed us up when we said she was ill).

I asked the officers who came round how they knew the inner-workings of this cats mind and why the cat was not showing distress and they gave me some flannel about cats in the wild hiding their weaknesses/illnesses to make it seem that they are strong.

So I asked how that applies to a domestic cat who showed no qualms about approaching us, her abusers, whilst trying to claw the RSPCA people who had come to rescue and kill her.

She was basically a thick interfering bint and emblematic of the mind-set of the RSPCA.
What evidence could the RSPCA have to simply put your mums cat down because It was Ill? :-?

And where did I tell you how to look after your animal?... and why are you going on about your Gran??.... you're delusional mate!.... no wonder your grandmother left you nothing she probably thought you were a foulmouthed twat as well... :TU:
And not that I asked about your parenting skills regarding your dogs, but personally I've been taking in stray animals, cats, dogs, budgies, Parrots fish etc for years now but I dont go around patting myself on the back for it... so dont come on with your dog owner of the year act with me!... 8) :TU:

Silkov, you're so glib about animal cruelty it's unreal.

I'm not pattng myself on the back - I'm saying that a LOT of ppl are totally clueless about animals which is how neglect comes in. If G Man did these things, this is way out of proportion to even that.

Gerald has a tatoo on his arm of his pitbull Deuce, does he not? I'm no detective, so how can I prove this & that, but these stories have been passed on by the likes of Don McRae and the guy who wrote that book on Benn-McClellan.

A natural response to acts like that is that the doer deserves something back. It's ingrained in ppl's heads from the "eye for an eye" stuff in the bloody bible. If you care about animals, you want to see scum get their just desserts.

IF he did it, well he got stopped didn't he? If he didn't, we have nothing to argue about.

I've not once said Gerald doesn't deserve care, or anything you've read into it. You said something about me giving animal lovers a bad name, and you hinted that I dug up my gandmother - so I answered your weird comments.

You seem to be clueless and illiterate. Go back to your hobby of cramming a Tyson set on one disc, or up your own arse, where you seem to e for long stages.

So what if he had a tattoo of his dog? What does that prove?

If I had a Tattoo of my arm which said 'NAN' e came up with a story that I used to bugger her with a chair leg, and then force her into the pit to battle to the death with other 'fighting grans' would the presence of the Tattoo confirm the story?

Okay then, if it may not be true there's no point even arguing. Obviously I upset people saying that if it's true, it's comeuppance. I don't see anything wrong with thinking that - maybe I should keep it to myself.

His animal cruelty is a matter of public record. Why you would get so emotional and waste so much time& energy trying to defend a man like GERALD McCLELLAN is beyond me. Argh its not even worth it.

For christ's sake, have you not read any of this thread? How is it a matter of public record? It's a matter of hearsay, I've not seen anything to substantiate the claims made in that interview by his former trainer and cousin, both of whom may well have had their own axes to grind.

It would be a matter of public record, had he been convicted of offences of cruelty to animals, as he has not been, it is NOT a matter of public record.

I think it's very rich of people to slag Gerald off without any evidence to back it up, when the man gave his all in the boxing ring, and pretty much lost his life. He's a mere shadow of a human being these days, blind, deaf and virtually paralysed from the waist down, christ the man has to wear frigging nappies!

So unless people can actually substantiate these supposed 'public records' of his terrible behaviour, I suggest he be given at least the benefit of the doubt.

Don't like Long Play fights.

Yes I do remember now - I was reading it in a corner shop - although "that grandmother" was a tad vague.

Problem with some animal rights groups is that they need to be rational, not inflamed, irrational and sentimental...they end up getting themselves in too much trouble. Animal rights activism needs to be done in a controlled way, otherwise you get yourself locked up.

As I see it, it's only normal to be sickened by stories like the labrador/cellar episode. If it did happen, can you imagine the scene? Atrocious. It seems to be common knowledge in boxing, and I've yet to hear "he didn't do it."

These days everyone has to mind their mouth, but I'm not going to hold back what I think.

Never said that tat proved it, just could be one of several elements that appear to "add up", you know.
