Bloody hell, that's a bit far fetched of them. Winky, lol, good job that these kind of things never end up happening. I heard that Cory Spinks was rumoured at one point.

Re Tszyu being dropped by Augustus Burton, it's very reliable - Boxing News.

I suppose anything can happen in sparing, especially when your expecting it to be light jab and slip sparring and your partners goes full blooded without warning. He didnt look too great sparring with Soliman pre-fight either though.

What happened to Tyszus proposed comeback that was mentioned a month or 2 ago with quotes from the great man himself? A Gatti-Tyszu fight would be fun (although not too advisable for Gatti). And if he gets through that Mosley/Cotto/Mayweather/DLH

I think Tszyu was going to have a fight in Russia. If N'dou beats Gatti and manages to put in a 140 title defense, maybe Tszyu-N'dou for the Aussies, who knows?

I can't see Tyszu making 140 again and I think if he did fight Ndou it would be because he wants Ndous belt

Power - McCellan by far
Hand Speed - McCellan
Jab - McCellan
Workrate/Stamina - equal
Defense - McCellan
Combinations - McCellan
Technique - McCellan
Chin - equal
Overal Boxing Ability - McCellan
Bodyshots - both were brutal

P4P Tyszus competition was better but wasnt that fantastic, good but not great

Don't forget Benn faced a prime McCellan, Tyszu was old ring rusty and past prime and fighting at 2am.
Sorry PN, we agreed on a fair few things in the DLH/Mayweather/Duran/Napoles thread - but this I disagree with.

McCellan had a better technique than Kostya - think you better watch Kostya vs Tackie.
Power - I'll give that one.
Chin - McClellan's was generally unproven.
Combinations - again, have to disagree. Kostya when he wanted to be was a master boxer - didn't he have a tremendous amateur career?
Stamina - again, its not equal. McCllellan's had never been tested and sadly the one time he was - he got stopped.
Bodyshots - Kostya.
Defence - again - he wasn't exactly hard to miss vs Benn, Kostya could be open at times but only against speedsters or when slightly faded.

Get the Kostya vs Tackie fight its a masterclass, get some Kostya fights PRE Vince Phillips - he was a machine.

Do you think Tszyu quit because he was bored? He quit because he was getting well and truly bashed up, look at Tszyu's face after the fight, he looked like he'd bitten a rottweiller's nose.
I think he's right, dominate isn't the right word. I had Tszyu a point up when he retired. Also, although I'm sure people will say "it's not a tickling contest" or some other bland admonishion, but Hatton wasn't doing nearly so well before he smacked Tszyu right in the bollocks as hard as he could right in front of the referee. I'm not saying he necessarily would have, but I think Tszyu could have won had the fight been more competently refereed
There is no way that Kostya could win that fight, for one simple reason. Hatton, like Phillips, took the shots that the vast majority of Tszyu's opponents couldn't
In an era in which Mayweather fanboys seem to think the only way to fight is tap and back off, it should be worth noting that a sound chin is just as admirable.

Gerald's chin was definitely not unproven.

Watch the first jackson fight.

Yes, Hatton got away with that cheap shot, and I noticed he did it against Urango following the 6th round where Urango had hurt Hatton.

That is all part of the game. Duran/Buchanon anyone? The referee has a job and he has to do it as best he sees it at the time. One question I must ask is how much scrutiny is given to the fighters of yesteryear to the fighters of today to judge fairness or unfairness?

Getting slightly back on topic...

I think the original point was around Benns achievement having beat G-Man. The crux being I think the point of both mens career. Benns victory was astonishing given his 9/2 reckoning by the bookies.

Remember, Fraudley was 1-10 to beat Sprott.

I'd be fascinated to know what the prices were on Eubank vs Benn I.

Eubank, Watson & Benn were terrific fighters and our kids will get sick of hearing about their careers and trilogys.
