Gonna try out a little software script I wrote in some of my future posts - see if you can spot them.

I call the principle on which the algorithm is based the "inverse Turing test".

Still waiting for forum TrollBot granberry to show us the proof that "The word was out for days before the second fake to bet on Liston to lose in the first round".

Of course he can't.

It's just another one of the rumors promulgated relentlessly by the Liston industry to deny Ali the credit that is due him.

You need to come up with some better attempts at explaining away your hero's failings, granpappy.

We are waiting.

Liston got embarrased royally by Clay in the first fight, and KTFO by a "slap" he didn't even see coming in the second.

Liston never fought Clay again.

Go running back to your fellow Liston-industry shills, Elderberry.

Or should I call you Terap v2.0?

LOL

The last authenticated measurement of Andre The Giant was when he was 7' tall, when he went to Paris to train with Edouard Carpentier. He might have been taller, but it isw clear that Andre's growth stopped in his 20's (height wise), but his hands, feet and head got thicker, which is a direct result of acromegaly, where after ossification (bones reach maximum length and thickness; no longer able to stretch) growth hormone makes it expand.

He did have back surgery in the 1980's, which could have also made him shorter. But another thing most people don't realise is that, when the body cannot physically grow any more, changes take place. The body starts to age rapidly. In cases with people such as him, the toll on the body is all the more apparent. In the 80's to early 90's he was a physical wreck.

Sad, considering in his 'prime' he could throw a drop kick or two whenever he wanted...

Bad joints, bones are also a major factor. I knew of a giant by the name of Gabriel Estavo Munjane who was 8' and three quarter inches, and he died after just tripping and falling. In an ironic sense, it goes back to the old fairy tales where if someone could make a giant fall, all his bones would break and shatter.

So...Valuev with knee braces, acromegalic features...I sincerly think he should look into seeing a doctor of some sort. I have been studying and reading up on endocrinology and cases of people such as himself, and I do think if he continues this physical activity the results could be very dangerous.

Some reported stats seem to be incorrect. Carnera's height is given as 6'6 1/2 in newspaper articles with tale of the tape stats which would make him taller than Willard.
In pro wrestling circles Carnera was exaggerated up to as much as 6'8" or 6'10" depending on the height of his opponent. This same tactic was done when he did his 'tank town' tour when he first came to the US.

I seen the Wilt-Andre pic, but wasn't that done after his back surgery? I know Andre for years and years was boasted as being 'the tallest and biggest' athlete in the world, even though at the time Kareem Abul Jabaar was. Ironically, there was another giant who was much taller than Andre and even taller than Giant Gonzales who wrestled/acted for a time by the name of Max Palmer, who went under the name 'Paul Bunyan', though he is often forgotten.

I have read alot on the David and Goliath story, by Hebrew scholars he was 9'6" while the Greeks had him listed as 6'10", it really doesn't matter due to the fact people in David's time were 5'5" to 5'8" at best. Now as far as the whole 'not seeing David' bit, the Bible doesn't have that at all in it's description of the show down---but while the story may have truth to it, a sling can still kill a man, no matter how big he is. Goliath of Gath seems that he did have the disorder, though, as in later books of the Bible it talks of Goliath's children, and how one had six fingers and toes, which is a characteristic sometimes of the disease, and they all were tall, though gigantism isn't known to really pass in family lineages; Martin Van Buren Bates and Anna Hanen Swan had children who were over 18 pounds, 20 pounds at birth, both died shortly after birth, Swan and Bates both stood over 7' in height, so it could be possible.

Impaired vision is a great risk though, alot of these people have been known to have gone blind, due to the over sized pituitary gland pressing on the optic nerve.

Cubit= generally 18", same length as from elbow to finger tip

Usually, the measurements would be changed from king to king. Like the Egyptians, would measure each new king/queen and would say that their measurements (eblow to fingertip) was the new measurement for a cubit.

That could have been the case with Goliath.

As far as Giant Gonzales, he was in all actuality 7'6". In the WWE he was said to be 8', while in WCW he was 7'7". Max Palmer was a solid 7'7", but was exaggerated to as much as 7'10" to 8', and beyond when he was in the circus.

You know, back during the 1860's P.T Barnum would not even consider anyone less then 7 feet 2 inches tall(in their socks)as a giant and would not hire anyone even a half inch shorter.
A lot of the famous circus giants,Max Palmer,Eddie Carmel etc, height was exaggerated(claiming to be 9 feet tall)l,but the actual height of the tallest circus giants was,
7 feet 8 inches tall(in their socks).
