Why would WBC have a 30day check on a none WBC fight?
because the wbc international title is on the line.
i assume if hatton won he'd be the mandatory for the wbc title.

And they're never one to miss a sanction fee are they...these joke belts Hatton agrees to fight for add up to a big fat zero.
Better if they just had the 140 Ring title on the line, at least that's got some history behind it.

I don't know about anyone else. But Castillo may not ever see hispurse really puts me off. This guy is putting his career on the line for the lineal ligt welter crown. The Ring light welter title. And he may not see apenny. I think this really mars the fight. I guess Castillo will have to have the championship to motivate him. But I doubt he's mentally 'there' now. Thanks a bunch Gary Shaw. So Shaw lost some $$ on Castillo-Corrales 3 not happening. But this is a negative mark for boxing. Who knows what's going to happen now. You can always count on someone to bugger things up.

Yes I can really see Hatton taking the 25% cut against Witter or Harris

What do you mean Castillo won't see his purse? Is this if Castillo doesn't make weight or is he being sued by Shaw or something?

Yep, it's on fightnews, Shaw is sueing him, and has won the right to withold Castillo's purse until the resolution of the court case.
That sucks, Shaw's a tosser man, just before a massive fight like that too. Christ I hope that Castillo doesn't pull out in protest.

Shaw is a wanker. My question is, when does this end? Will he try and leech off Castillo's next purse and the one after that?
btw, if 'Big Gary' could promote a fight, he would have made a fortune off Castillo-Corrales #1!

Is Vegas ready for 10,000 seriously pissed off UK boxing fans if it's a no show ?
I'm gonna stay positive and can't wait to see Castillo on the scales bang on 140.
I know what you mean mate, but half the fans are just there for a big piss up. Boxing is very specialist sport, it's not your casual sports fan/s who have knowledge of the sport.
Half the english fans have probably never fought, even trained or been to a boxing gym. If it does turn out to be a no-show, then I'd like to think UK fans would behave. We don't another black-eye for the sport. There's been enough throughout history already!

please take note of the title of the thread.
I dont really get your problem with my comments??..

silkov, its simply because i would agree with your post about hattons tactics ie to be cagey, to wait a bit and go to town late on - good tactics ordinarily - except that the thread tells us that there may be a weight problem for castillo, thereby giving hatton an opportunity to blast a weight drained opponent away inside 6 rounds and avoiding the kind of stamina sapping points duel that hatton hasnt looked good in of late.
or maybe you think hattons tactics should be the same whether he's facing a weakened castillo or not

said in the Sun( so it must be true) that Castillos lack of purse was paying a FINE relating to the weight issues

I would be very surprised if Castillo is severely weight weakened, he has everything on the line in this one and if he loses or lost bad would have nowhere to go, so unless he is really physically gone I expect him to be in good shape for this one. Either way it would be very dangerous for Hatton to go into this fight thinking Castillo will be weak at the weight... he's got to go in ready for 12 very tough rounds and pace himself accordingly. I'd be very surprised to see Hatton stop Castillo.... I do have a sneaking feeling that Hattons camp has taken this fight thinking that Castillo is shot, and that they maybe in for a nasty shock...

The concerns now must be how blooming much bigger Castillo looks than Ricckaay.

The fact is that Castillo is the more proven fighter.... against better opposition, could Hatton have given Mayweather 2 such tough matches as Castillo did?.... I think not... its all down really to how much Castillo has left, if he is anything near his best then Ricky will be in trouble...

I think the weight issue was totally overblown. Arum said on Thursday that Castillo was 143 and when he dries out he makes weight easily. And he did make weight - 140 - last night.

well, Stevie Johnston was the more proven fighter when Castillo challenged him...I think we may see the best of Ricky.
If Castillo loses but does well, maybe he'll be high up in the WBC and get a Witter shot.

castillo looks well in those photo's, he usually looks drained but he looks fine

the hatton camp wont be fooled by castillo and the weight speculation.
but theres no worry about giving castillo a little tester around the ribs and lower body in the opening salvos just to have a look.
in all honesty, lets hope this is not won or lost on the scales but that we see a true battle of two genuine warriors in as good condition as possible.

Castillo looks a lot better than I thought he would.
He looks solid.

If anyone looks tight at the weight its Hatton... he looks extremely gaunt and drained... far more than he did a few years ago at 140.... I really have my doubts that he'll last 12 hard rounds with Castillo, who looks in peak shape to me...

I'm shocked. No wonder people went on about Castillo being a monster at 135. Hatton's a good-size at 140, but he looks much fornicating smaller than the Mexican.
I'm really concerned about this fight. I had an email from somebody whose opinion I respect saying Castillo is shot, but I have my concerns about Hatton's defence at the top level, his own fitnes has looked less than great in the last two outings, Castillo is more schooled on the inside, and looks half a weight division -- at least -- bigger.
I think this will be close.

The bottom line really is that Castillo is the superior and more proven fighter of the two... you cant compare them when it comes to their opposition... if Castillo is anywhere near his best then he'll be too tough for Hatton imo and then there is also the question of Hatton having slipped as well...
