Someone didn't proof read. The Olympic Trials capped off a much decorated amateur career for Thurman which included winning the PAL National Championships in 1996
I hope Keith will do well in the pros. He definitely hits hard and has a style the fans should like. He's also one of the nice people in boxing. He's really going to have to do something with his hair, though. Hitting an opponent in the eye with a swinging ponytail isn't a normal boxing technique.
I wish Keith the best of luck!!!
You seen Lennox Lewis' hair lately, Mel?boxmel wrote:Someone didn't proof read. The Olympic Trials capped off a much decorated amateur career for Thurman which included winning the PAL National Championships in 1996![]()

My apologies, Davetko - I was in Houston, too! There are no alternates on the Olympic team - if Javier doesn't make it, Danny will not take his place - unless Javier is injured prior to qualifying. Is Danny in Colorado Springs?
You should know by now that boxing, amateur and pro, revolves around rumors.
Would be nice, however, if people checked them out before passing them on.

actually i heard it from edwin rodriguez, so ur a retard, and by the way danny o'conner lost to danny garcia, so makes danny garcia the alternate , if there was any!!davetko wrote:I train Daniel O'Connor. He is the alternate on the Olympic team, and last time I checked his next fight is in England at the end of the month, and Dargan surely isn't an English fighter. People need to stop starting stupid rumors.
I don't think coach Dave is a retard and would suppose he has a better idea of when his boxer is competing than Edwin Rodriguez. If Danny Garcia declined the "partner" status, this makes Danny O'Conner the "partner" at that weight class.actually i heard it from edwin rodriguez, so ur a retard, and by the way danny o'conner lost to danny garcia, so makes danny garcia the alternate , if there was any!!
It doesn't hurt to be nice and not call people names.
the-one
Please learn how to spell and speak intelligently before you respond to a post, it will make everyone's life alot easier. Daniel O'Connor is an alternate or partner on the US Team. He earned that spot by coming in 3rd place at the boxoffs, as Garcia was removed from the program. He is not fighting professionally, nor against Dargan unless its at the US Championships or Golden Gloves.

Naazim is a big guy. Speaking of Naazim - does anyone know how he is doing. I know he suffered a stroke earlier this year.boxmel wrote:In all the years I've known him, I don't think Dynamite ever feared me. Unless he's had another, Dynamite told me at last year's PAL that Naazim had a heart attack before that and was doing well. This was backed up by one of the officials from their area who was at this year's PAL. I imagine he has had to slow down considerably.Naazim is a big guy.
