Well said Matt, intelligent posts - Going through sh1t yourself can (but not always)make you a better person, and more tolerant of others - Its like when people say I know how you feel, how can they unless they have experianced similar - Its too easy to judge without any insight.

I think if you have always been dedicated to your religion its a lot easier than for someone who has only been practising for a relatively short time - Good luck to Nigel if it gives him peace of mind and it helps to make him a better person.

“I was really just sick of that lifestyle – it was a fast pace, I was burning the candle at both ends,” Benn said. “You get to the stage where you say to yourself, ‘What’s it all about?’ Being world champion, you had money, you had flash cars – Bentleys, Ferraris – you had a big house, you had women, you had this, you had that, but what was it all about? Where was true happiness? In a nutshell, it was all total destruction. Did the world title bring me happiness? Absolutely not. Did it bring me fame and wealth? That’s about it.
“I’m happier now. I don’t have to fight for anything, I don’t have to achieve anything. I just have to do the will of the Father. We get so lost in this celebrity lifestyle – you can buy this, you can do that. Life has just changed, drastically. I’m much more content.”

Cheers Waylon - I have my moments
And I'd rather hear about Benn finding peace of mind than Steve Collins talk about how he would have beaten Roy Jones & Marvin Hagler, or Evander Holyfield talking about making adjustments & becoming undisputed champion again...

Maybe if Nigel is so sickened by his actions he should give all his money away??
Seems fair

But he's a Christian and believes God has called him to use the money to save lives and souls

He means, that just a couple of months ago the newspapers reported him shagging some burd behind his womans back. All the self righteous stuff and then gets the bell-end into some strumpet, aye right

He's seemingly selling his belts to pay for a church, bit strange preaching love and peace when your dipping burds whilst staying in your big million quid pad eh, allegedly of course

In fairness I don't think it's fair to slag him because he doesn't always live up to his ideals. Who does? People will fcuk up at times - it's one of the things we're best at! - but it doesn't necessarily make one a hypocrite or discredit their beliefs.

yes we do make mistake but how many of us are on a soapbox preaching morals?
benn was one of my favourtie fighter but this self rightious pious shit he keeps spouting is becoming boring. This is indeed magnified by his slagging off of boxing and the man he used to be, apparantly this was all down to boxing and nothing to do with him?
Hmmm so when he was recently exposed again in terms of infidenility, it seems his faith hasnt caused the leopard to change his spots.
Yes nige we get it, you dont like boxing fine fornicate off and build a church then but please stop crapping on about it its not constructive (pardon the pun).

Surely shagging women is making love, not war as the "Dark Destroyer" did - Seriously tho, he shouldnt be dipping his wick behind his wifes back but then how many churchgoers are sinless.
