Apparently for the last 3 weeks he was sparring Brian Magee..................

and I'm hearing from a friend of a friend that Magees been asked back!!!
Read into that what you think, Magee also now wants to move back down to SMW.

Me thinks Kessler got a good workout then :box:

Enzo Calzaghe had a go at Kessler for "trying to copy" Calzaghe's style by having Magee spar with him apparently. What a moronic thing to say - it's normal to bring in sparring partners to mimic the style of the opponent.

I'm not too sure how Magees style replicates JC, prob ocs two techncally expereined boxers at southpaw.

Magee though doesnt seem to have a ko punch - hes sort of like DIET CALZAGHE!

I read it that Enzo was pointing out that they can try to copy JC, but there's nobody out there quite like him.

You really do have very little time for the Calzaghes, don't you? :D

yeah i do, but every time i got excited about watching a calzaghe fight they picked on a shitty opponent and gave a crap unwatchable performance. i know it's dangerous to write him off because he can end up giving 1 of those excellent performances but i just think that he's lived off the lacy win which is all he's done worth seeing since 2003.

enzo did say those things and used that to "blast Kessler" as more than 1 article had it. it really is hard to sympathise with that camp, it really is.

Joe has a TKO punch. Not a KO one.
True point - in which case looking at Magee record, maybe a good choice for sparring.
He has a high TKO rate.

So It should. :TU:

Plus It's happening before that Hatton/Mayweather.

Both are godlike matchups and fights though.
definitely will be more intense trading in Calzaghe-Kessler. Floyd will do more shoulder rolling and 1 punch counters... Going to be more fireworks when the winner takes on the likes of Inkin, Pavlik, Bute, Pascal, Froch. 168 is the best division of the lot.
147lbs is the top division at the moment........PBF, Cotto, Williams, Kintron, Margarito, Mosley, Hatton (for the moment).

Magee is much slower than Calzaghe though.

Good one. Or maybe the "Ultra Mild" version.

williams isn't anything to write home about, mosley will be shot post cotto, margo's run may be over, floyd's maybe having his last fight

for young, promising offensive fighters in their primes and coming up, you can't beat 168.

quite mobile, a southpaw and can surely pose passable calzaghe problems in the gym

i wonder who enzo macca was emulating in sparring with calzaghe for the upcoming big fight. Charlie Brown perhaps?

I heard he hardly does any sparring in the build up, probably due to his fcuked hands

the 1 thing I don't like about Kessler. When he fights a southpaw he relies on his reach. He doesn't get his front foot outside his opponent's front foot and can lose the battle of positioning.

Calzaghe as much as said he can't KO with his left because its fucked on inside sport.

Darren came home because his eye was swollen and was fighting a week later. Nice comments from kessler about barker in the BN he must of done well out there.
