I put the second one in to try and get a reaction (which kinda worked) because I am unsure if Danny Green is well known in British boxing circles...

I wanted to get a feel what British fans thought before I expanded any further.

Marlin, I believe Danny Green is a lot better now he's gone up to light heavy. But I don't think he'll beat Woods. Green is very tough, his hands look fast for a light heavy, but he can be a bit basic and I think Clinton is tough and skilled enough to overcome him. Also, Woods is very strong on the inside and has become good at grinding ppl down.

That wan't the best of Woods in the 3rd Johnson bout; in the next one we will see Woods a much more convincing winner. He let Johnson outjab him in some early rds, and he didn't use his power/counter short left, because of his bad elbow in which he had a trapped nerve. Next time when Johnson throws right after right - as in rd 9 - we won't see Woods stunned and not responding. We'll see him tuck up and come back with smashing lefts to command the action.

In the latest Gonzalez fight, Woods used his left much more, and he came close to having Gonzalez down in the 10th and 11th. He was disabled slightly in the previous fight and is better than ppl think he is. I thought Green was going to gun for Clinton but he went for Tarver instead.

I believe Clinton's market is the domestic one. British level foes seem null & void after Dean Francis got in trouble for hitting someone outside the ropes and after Magee and Oakey fought to a dismal draw. If an exciting Ozzie comes over, certainly there will be interest. The buzz after the 2nd Gonzalez was that it was very exciting, and Calzaghe is tied with the same TV channel, so I actually think Woods may get a chane with Calzaghe. Can Joe resist listening to his body and gunning for a title at 175-lbs, in the UK? I bet he bloody can't.

Thanks Auto. I think that to beat Green you need to be a great boxer. I don't think Woods could outbox Green to the point he goes into his shell and can't hurt Woods. From what I've seen Woods will be there for Green to hit. Green will worry Woods with his jab and hammer home the right hand. Once Green smells blood he should go in for the kill. Green won't be afraid to mix it up on the inside either. He is tough as nails and doesn't mind the rough house tacics if need be. I think it would be a good fight though and I hope it can be made at some point.

Danny Green is clearly an extremely good fighter and worthy of serious thought but it seems your main thoughts are on what Green can do and underestimating the achievements and abilities of Woods - Clinton has turned himself into a seriously good fighter and one regardless of what is said on here he deserves his place as the No1 Light Heavyweight in the world - by you saying you think Green can beat Woods you obviously think Danny Green is number 1 - maybe we will find out soon.

Woods has become a very smart fighter coming out of the clinches - he can push you off and nail you with short shots. He's also very good at leaning on you & outmuscling inside and all his recent foes that went late into the fight have been exhausted. With Green coming up from super middle I think he'd feel that extra size/weight. Though admittedly BOTH men have fixed a physical/nutritional deficiency to find their fighting shape after underperforming for years. But I think Woods has improved his technique to boot whereas I'm not sure Green has.

I think Green will batter the gutless Tarver. If he does he'll want a title shot for sure.

Bloody hope Dean Francis gets in the mix. He's the only Brit I want to see face Woods. His comeback has been excellent. That left hand is Kessler-like. In his prime, before the right shoulder went, he was knocking out ppl that Calzaghe & Collins were struggling with. Still looks fresh after the inactivity (prison spell) of a few yrs ago.

Chris Eubank once said Dean Francis was the best British super middleweight apart from himself, privately (I guess they sparred?).
