Absolutely thrilled for Jamie Moore getting his chance - I am also glad to see Steve Wood yet again get his stable of boxers a good night on TV - I also fully understand why the opportunity had to be taken - to be fighting for the European Title is an opportunity which cannot be missed but lets not bullshit anyone here with the regards to dates for that particular fight to take place we all know it could be shifted and the European people in Rome would have allowed that to happen - but with all that said what promoter on this land would not want to showcase his fighters on such a prestigious night so I fully understand why Steve Wood and Frank Maloney have taken their opportunity.
Another thing Moorsey has waited and waited for his chance - one in which I am convinced he will take as long as he is not a silly tw*t in those early rounds due to being so hyped up and having such a big opportunity.
I have to say I have BIG reservations about Oliver Harrison having to split his time between 2 venues - Oliver has been absolutely fantastic for Jamie Moore and regardless of what anyone says have seen Oliver with Jamie in the changing room and he plays a big part from when Jamie arrives at the venue to when he walks to the ring - I seriously rate Harrison very highly indeed - so I am not listening to the b*llocks that it will not hamper prepartions in anyway - Oliver is a massive calming influence over Jamie and it is not ideal in my humble opinon.
I also want to use this post whilst expressing my admiration for Steve Wood and I will always thank Frank Maloney for letting me into boxing in a minor way but I simply have to say I am extremely dissapointed the way in which they have "downed" Ben Carey in the way they have on this thread -
Frank, Steve and many others say a lot of us on these forums have been way over the top in our criticisms but yet they all too conveniently use it as a platform to down us - my simple question to Frank especially is do 2 wrongs make a right??

I've hit on this thread a little late, but it seems to be getting rather catty for no particular reason. I think, actually, that Ben is a little off beam, but overall he makes a valid point.
I absolutely believe that Harrison can cope with training 2 fighters for the biggest fights of their careers at the same time. It shouldn't be a problem at all. For heaven's sake: Freddie Roach trains about twelve hundred world class operators and he seems to cope just fine.
However, where Ben is absolutely spot on is the location issue. I don't know if anything has been worked out with the timing, but if Jamie is left without his trainer for what is really a make or break fight for him, it is not ideal, and anybody who denies that it is not ideal needs their head examining, even if they know more about boxing than me -- which Maloney, Wood et al most certainly do.
To make my point clear, I don't have a problem with the dual training, but training two different fighters for two different fights in two different locations isn't ideal, is it?
If Jamie is left without Harrison, will he be in the same position as Alex Arthur was when he supposedly switched to Freddie Roach and was left with no sane voice in his corner when the left hooks started flying and the red mist desended against Gomez?
Ultimately, Moore's waited long enough, and he might just be world class. I guess it's a case of asking which is the lesser of two evils? This option, or waiting for a second chance and maybe being forced to have that chance on less favourable financial terms and perhaps away from home.
Bearing in mind that Jamie is probably my favourite British fighter, I sincerely hope the gamble pays off.

I really do believe Oliver Harrison has been fantastic for Jamie Moore - not only does he have a claming influence over his fighter but he also has a canny control over the dressing room - a trainer is vitally important not only in training and n between rounds but also in the lead up to the actual fight - that time in the dressing room despite the fighter knowing exactly what is expected of him is VITAL - When I have seen Olly with Jamie he is constantly chatting to him in a calm relaxed manner but at the same time he has control - I have seen the same with Richard Poxon with Clinton Woods - sometimes and we have seen a lot in boxing a fighter can lose a fight before he has even stepped into the ring.

Dzuman and his team have "agreed" to step aside, Jamie is mandatory, and has been (really) for some time without getting his shot (Michael Jones got it ahead of him!!!). Obviously the sanctioning body agreed!! Not before time.
Oliver will be in Jamies corner for the fight, no problem there. Jamie got his mandatory bad night out of the way against Facey, he knows this is his biggest fight and he'll be fired up beyond belief.. no doubt about that! Baysangurov has clearly got good whiskers, but has any fighter from the UK been to the well to grind out a victory as often as Jamie has? The better the opponent, the better the performance. Macklin - superb tactical performance, defensively amazing. Against Ljuan he showed he can, when necessary, box safe to a points win. No doubt Baysangurov is quality, but has he faced a fighter as good as Jamie? Has he been into the lions den to grind out a victory?
Great fight, great nights boxing... just hope a bar in Vegas shows it (long shot I know), imagine how rammed the bar would be! Full of pre-fight Hatton fans.
Dead excited for Jamie, it's a fight I was willing to go to had VIP not won the purse bids. Germany would have been interesting as their shows have so much glamour. Russia would've been.. well.. an experience never to be forgotten!!
On the Harrisson issue, how far is the bolton arena form wigan? 30mins? 45mins? - No problem!!

Boxers have their "way of doing things" - Harrison is normally with Jamie the moment he arrives at the Arena to when the final bell rings - one little break in that can in my view upset the applecart.
I have been allowed in the Moore dressing room for a couple of fights of his - I am amazed in my view what a calming influence Oliver has over Moorsey when the nerves start setting in - if the fight is put back for long enough then Oliver will have time to take a full part in the preparations - it is in my opinion VITAL that he does.
Moorsey can win this European title of that I am convinced - but he should not accept second best in any part of his preparations in achieving that goal.

You and others have to remember - Khan is ITV's "flag ship" or "Number 1" fighter and in addition he is also a major sports star in this country - ITV are also paying Khan's promoter - Mr W arren to showcase Khan's talent on their channel - make no mistake Khan will fight at the time ITV stipulate and at a time which will maximise their TV viewing figures and finally at a slot which suits all their other BIG programmes on a Saturday evening.
People have a right to their opinion and are also correct to raise their concerns - Oliver Harrison is one of the most underestimated trainers we have in this country - Jamie Moore is in the biggest fight of his career - Moore should not accept second best.
