There goes my saturdays boxing. I was hoping I could get hold of a stream.

As some have said, there is definitely more to this. Wayne will fight Scott Harrison who even though he made weight was a light welter/welter by the time he got in the ring, but he won't fight Martinez for being a few pounds over?

So why was Wayne so light???.... seems a bit strange to me...

Fcuking unproffesional of Martinez and his camp though they should know better than that its ameterish.

Unless the no tickets sold conspirecy theory is true.

It's a bit of a shambles isn't it? Pat Magee offered Wayne money and the pair of them new opponents apparently to save the bill from collapsing but to no avail.

The way i am understanding it is Martinez came in overweight and when asked to go away and skip it off to take weight again he just sat there and refused, then wandered off and never came back. The guy obviously didn't give a shit.

Wayne cant have that much faith in himself if he's so worried about someone being just one and a half pounds over, ....also if Martinez was having trouble making the weight its most likely that he would have been less than 100%.... either way you look at it one and a half pounds is not going to make such a difference.... with Wayne we're talking about a guy who has been fighting full blown feathers for years, yet all of a sudden he's worried about the size of Martinez!??.

Wayne is 37 - He really cannot afford a defeat at all. I don't blame him for not fancying it. He cannot afford to give away any dissadvantages now. I am a bit gutted though they couldn't find another opponent just to keep him ticking over - even if it was a Peter Buckley type.

Who says Martinez wasnt trying to pull a fast one...Corrales thought Castillo was trying to make weight when they fought the 2nd time and that he would be drained..he was proven incorrect

And Wayne came in light in regards to the contract, not SB..he did that as a message to the board who didnt trust him to make weight or treat it proffesionally..then he finds CHIKO is 1-5 pounds over and doesnt want to make any effort to lose it..

My opinion is that CHIKO has crapped himself

I dont see the point about Wayne fighting Feathers, when he fought feathers he knew about it and trained accordingly

How is coming in two pounds underweight proffessional??.... Wayne was further away from the agreed weight than Martinez!??. The point about the feathers is that Wayne should be used to fighting guys of that weight... its not as if he was suddenly going in against a bigger guy than he'd ever faced before. I'm not trying to blame Wayne entirely, but some things here dont seem quite right to me.
I hardly see why Martinez would be 'crapping' himself about a guy who is 37, hasnt fought in over two years and hasnt beaten a rated fight in who knows how long....
If Martinez really refused to lose the weight as we've been told etc then the promoters will surely sue him for the collapse of the promotion, if they dont sue or seek some sort of penalty against Martinez then something else has been going on here I think....

Wayne has made SB, something the board didnt think he could do...it wouldnt have made him unhealthy and he would have risen come fight night, it doesnt matter at all that he was light..one person didnt want to lose weigh....

I understand what youre saying but the fight was made at 124 which is featherweight anyway, I really dont see how Waynes preparation should have been so different for someone weighing at 124 or someone weighing 125 and a half?. And with resepect to Wayne I cant see Kiko being afraid of him. Its more likely that Kiko just couldnt shift the weight, and so had they fought he would have been at least a little weight drained from his efforts if he was completely dry, which is why I'm saying that I was surprised that Wayne didnt go ahead with the bout, especially if he was comfortable at the weight himself. The Corrales vs Castillo situation was different in that both were finding it hard to make the weight.... but Wayne by coming in at 122 seems to have had no trouble making it....

Wayne may have wanted to show the world he can still do bantam so even if he lost v Martinez in a decent scrap he could still be in the mix at bantam and super bantam
