Sorry mate got to correct you !!!
Look at boxingtalk.net - Mayweather even goes on that site for on line chats with the fans!!!
I shall have a look at that, Spud, thanks.
I will log on as Anorak and say
"As a long time fan, with a huge collection of jazz, sorry, boxing mags and no mates, I believe I am qualified to say that I don't believe you are as good as HBO are making you out to be."
If he gets seriously upset I shall be proved wrong and will believe in the power of the anoraks of the net to influence a boxer's pysche.
On another note, I like the blokes who occasionally log onto forums and pretend to be boxers of the past. My favourite was someone who claimed to be Earnie Shavers on the old Beebe forum several years back. He had a few the more gullible posters hanging on every word. Got exposed when it was apparent he didn't know his alter ego was living in the UK. A good laugh though while it lasted.

Collins - I just took this to mean that you thought the internet as a whole was detritus rather than a selective amount.
You're right, there's a lot of rubbish out there.

Ian - sorry, I could have been clearer.
It's certainly not ALL detritus.
The internet contains a wealth of information in amongst all the crap.
One thing I'd like to see is Boxing News scan in all the back issues. I'd love to have access to the stuff Graham Houston wrote for them in the 80's.
Same with The Ring and Boxing Monthly.

Me too, but I wouldn't want to be the man to do it - almost a hundred years' worth!
