Exactly. What boxing fans also find objectionable is the fact that Khan is talking (or people are talking on his behalf) about becoming a World Champion, whilst at the same time they are avoiding a fight with the current British champion. This makes the whole concept of being a "Champion" somewhat farcical.

Its almost implied that because he is such a "superstar" the British title is somehwat below him.

For such, they guy is popular both indide and outside the sport- and thats great. But I really hope that his whole career isn't spent avoiding serious challenges, and legitimate titles.

They gave Thaxton an offer just before the purse bid. Which they knew he would turn down. Thaxton turned it down because Hennessy were confident they would win the purse bid.

They were both each others mandatory’s for their belts. Thaxton wasn't too worried about Khan refusing to go into a purse bid because he thought Khan would get stripped of this commonwealth belt which he should have done. Which for some reason didn't. There's current legal action going on about this I think.

Its FW connections pulling the strings. Trying to make Khan not look like the coward he is.

Now there's pressure by the WBO on Diaz to fight a mandatory pretty soon or he'll get stripped. It's all to help Khan become world champion by fighting bums.

I agree with this, but - and it's a big thing, you haven't factored in his hubris. You're welcome to maintain that it's all part of boxing - can't argue with that, I'd just have way more time for him if he'd show a little reserve.

Point taken. I think he's talking himself up for bigger exposure, not because he's over-confident. I agree with you though.
