Hopefully working with Pele Reid will have brought him on, but he looked very raw the first couple of fights I saw him in. He could be out of his depth against the more experienced guys here IMO.
He will be out of his depth, though fair play to Alex for getting involved with this after only three paid fights and five amateur bouts (one win). I’ve thought he’s made some vast improvements after his debut win.

By the way, Alex is no longer with Richie Woodhall in Birmingham – and hasn't been for sometime. He is now based with Team Impact, who now also promote him, in Stoke.

I would love to see an all-Midlands clash between Butlin and Ibbs during this heavyweight tournament.

Shame Scott Lansdowne had to call it a day last year – this three-round format would have suited him down to the ground. Scott used to start blowing from the fourth onwards, but was dangerous in the early going.

thats was my initial worry Terry, and I still think that now the fighters are far more experienced than he is, but fairs fair to the lad for having a go against more experienced fellas!

£3.5k for a losing QF-ist is alright. £63 prize money in total.

Any idea who the reserve is Billy? Hows the diet going by the way?

He has banged on the timber in the last year or so aint he??

Noticed he was 16st10 - 17st in his last couple of (losing) outings.

The Butcher is eating his own produce these days it would seem...
