I have a problem with this being PPV as it is not a PPV quality fight and the undercard is likely to be shoddy too. I may cave in to pressure and buy it, I may even go, but no way should it be PPV.

Matthew Hatton Vs anyone not good as chief main event?

Maliginagggggi will not be on the undercard imo.

I also know boxers who have paid for PPV fights and will pay for this one. Is that bullshit?

I pay my money to Sky/Setanta/Internet fees and as said above would pay for a Witter fight on PPV simply because I like live boxing.

Again, as opposed to what Spud and the guys think, I do not suppose to say that a guy in a pub who does not know the exact date Charles frst defeated Moore knows fook all. I've met boxers, who forget the names of their earlier opponents. Are they ignorant pub fans also?

It is easy to play Mr Know it all online, we all do to an extent but to class people who will pay for a live fight as ignorant mugs is wrong as like it or not they keep the sport going for us rarified fans who pay lip service to the sport.

I'll pay for pretty much any PPV going because I like live fights and can afford it, I am also aware that boxing, despite a recent upsurge, is a niche sport so it is going to cost.

A group of guys in a pub saying "lets get tickets/PPV and head off to watch the fight" is not a crime in my mind, nor a reflection that they know less than me about boxing.
Not at all. My argument was the contention that we are leeches. I spent 600 quid a year just so as I can watch boxing.

I have no problem at all with people who are prepared to pay to watch Hatton v Lazcano, I'm just not going to be one of them.
Ah, my mistake. I meant leech as in literally taking stuff from the 'net instead of paying for fights on DVD or in sets.
Ah right, that's what you are referring to. In fact all the boxing videos I've got for were either gifts or I paid through the nose for.

Speaking of which Terrence, I finally got my password through for a certain website which shall remain nameless. I will need to confer with you on how to, well, do certain things which shall also remain nameless.

There will be a couple of decent British fighters other than the Hatton's on the bill have no fears.

If Maloney promotes it for arguments sake - who does he have in his stable?

Hatton is really letting everyone Down.... He really has to fight Witter Sooner or later. the fight after this, or a few years down the line... just ARRANGE IT! ...

could be a Major Dent in a Solid Career if he refuses to fight Witter..... i feel Hatton will be letting himself down me than anyone since i reckon he can win it

I wouldn't mind Jamie Moore and someone like Mark Thompson on.

The undercard is shaping up nicely from what i hear.

Aside from the pros and cons of the price, which is steep, of the PPV there is no reason to say people who buy it shouldn't be classed as real boxing fans. They are probably the same people who, shocker, drink in pubs, with local boxers, and pay ticket prices for the little local shows so they probably do more for the sport than us guys who leech fights off the Internet.

Is a pub fan lower down than the likes of you Max who got into boxing off the back of Joe C and freely admits to not watching fights from the dark days of Before Calzaghe?

Call those types of fans mugs if you will but they put more into the coffers than us.

This is not a position on the merits of the fight/Witter/Hatton, I just find that the perception of paying fans is a bit skewed on this forum.

I know 2 lads who support British fighters in general and shelled out for Haye-Macca, Bami-Barnes and will buy the Hatton PPV and tickets. Are they bad for the sport?

If the only Boxers you know are Hatton - Calkzaghe - Khan thenn you are
not a boxing fan.

Personally - I have SKY and Setanta ONLY for the Boxing and I subscribe to £12.00 - £15.00 of Boxing Mags a month for the last 20 years or so - so I put enough in ( might even go to the odd show!) cash wise.

THE MAIN GRIPE IS MOST OF HATTONS FAN DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING APART FROM HATTON.,

They are good for Hatton and thats about it.

Once Hatton retires - they are also gone from the sport.

Are they Boxing fans?

One of my daughters was a Michael Schumaker fan and never missed a race. Last Season she didnt bother to watch even one race. Similar situation I guess.

I am a little fed up with reading about Ricky Hatton now. I actually liked him, even in defeat, but there is something about this Thank You to the fans that doesn't quite work for me. Maybe the fact that people will pay rediculous money to watch live either at the stadium or on box office and Ricky Hatton will once again walk away with a lovely purse into the millions, basically for fighting someone that everyone knows he will beat.
Then they will play on the idea that this is Lazcano is getting his final chance and will give Ricky his hardest challenge - will he f/ck, he is there to lose and line everyones pockets.

I wasn't really into the Hatton - Witter thing until recently, but it is now starting to bug me abit that Hattons reasons for not fighting him are all rubbish
Maybe Witter should get a ringside seat and hold a banner up saying FIGHT ME OR F/CK OFF BACK TO AMERICA or something along those lines.

Matthew 'Hunchback' Hatton against TBA will be a good one.

I doubt the rest will be up to much.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Ringside are £500 then all the way down the scale.
Any MCFC fans here who could advise where the best seats will be for boxing, assuming the ring is on the half way line ? Never been but assume the stands are a fair way back as the arena was used for athletics.
Be interesting to see how quickly the tickets are snapped up.
The floor seats are all quite pricey. Is the east stand where the tunnel is ?

Family ticket for £100. Two adults and two under sixteens.
I think this is a great idea and should be available all the time.
I've spent hundreds taking my son to fights, always paying full price.

Tomorrow is when they go on general sale but they've already sold a load today.

I would say don't bother with the pitch seating unless in the inner ring as it will obviously be one level. Lower tier side blocks (105 etc.) are probably your best bet if there's any left:

Reasonably priced tickets - got to admit that one.

I hope the undercard is full - I remain convinced whilst the fight will be popular - do people honestly think there will be 55,000?

The PR machine will have to go into overdrive - the papers will have to run the advertisements like they have done today - and why not a 24/7 programme on Sky to get the non boxing fans interested in the bout.

Sorry got to disagree DG.

Ricky Hatton filling a stadium of 55,000 fans is going to be something to savour for not only himself and his team - but it will be yet another shot in the arm for British Boxing it is going to bloody fantastic news.

With regards to the outcome of the fight - I am intrigued bloody intrigued as stated earlier in the thread - I am very very curious how Ricky is going to come back from the Mayweather defeat - I will qualify that remark by stating that many people on here have stated we have not seen the best of Ricky Hatton since the KT fight - I actually disagree - I think there has been many improvements.

With that said - the Collazo fight was a hard one - the Urango fight could have been easier and lets face it Mayweather one was a struggle.

What is intriguing is the manner of Ricky's victory against Lazcano - lets face it - HE WILL WIN - But I want to see him win convincingly.
