And Harris was 139 at the weigh-in, not 134 like someone said. It's strange why people are trying to make excuses for Harris. He lost.

Good bill this. Witter should hopefully turn in a focussed and destructive performance.

Let's hope Froch does the business agaisnt Inkin as well.

I really hope Witter does shine, as it would be terrible if he lost! Hatton would then have no reason to fight him.

Good old Mick Hennessy, looking forward to watching Froch back on terrestrial.

Boston Globe
Harris staggered backward for several steps before collapsing as Maussa tried to hit him one more time but missed. Not that Harris would have noticed, because he was laboring even to catch his breath. Long before that point, however, the champion already appeared to be exhausted, his chest heaving as early as the third round.

Harris had weighed in at an astonishing 134 pounds despite the 140-pound super lightweight limit, a full weight class below that division and even a pound below the lightweight limit of 135.
Harris, who had talked all manner of trash during the week about how he was ready to beat all the other super lightweight champions, including Mayweather and Gatti, had to be held up under the arms as he left the ring.

I've proved this before on this board mate.

So why does BoxRec state 139?

Are you sure he wasn't 134 on the night having weighed in at 139? I remember reading somewhere that Harris supposedly went for a really long run the evening before the fight after having weighed in.

Shock horror Boxrec is wrong?

It has happened. For example David Haye states he was 235 for Bonin but Boxrec says 220ish(top of my head).

Just who do we belive?

I don't know but I do know what happened from someone who was there, Jake Donovan who works with BS.com and is a mate of mine.

Harris got on the scales, his weight was read out at 134, he got off the scales.

That's exactly what happened.
Fair enough mate. You'd know better than me as I'm reliant on here.

I'm of the opinion that if you beat a fighter, you're better than him. If Harris did overtrain, it's tough cheddar on him. Sorry. I'm very black and white I'm afraid. If a fighter loses he loses. I said the same when Hatton lost to Mayweather. It wasn't Cortez's fault.

Too many times in boxing, more than any other sport I watch, fighters make excuses for losing. I'll get off my soap box now.

Excellent news that ITV are picking this one up, surely Showtime will pick this bill up as well. Hennessey's put an excellent card together here. Lets hope Inkin makes it here this time

I'm looking forward to Fewkes-Murray. I've got no idea which way the result will go, but it's got guarenteed all action entertainment writ all over it.

It's rare we get 3 fights of this quality on the same bill over here, well done Mick and co :TU:

Do we know what time? I'm concerned that ITV will force it to be on around 00.00 GMT, which would ruin any US exposure Junior could get.

I actually bought my ticket based upon Murray v Fewkes. Keep an eye out for me at ringside Stu :TU:

Will do (no waving at the camera with your phone to your ear :D )

Good question regarding what time it will go out? Showtime were gonna show Froch-Inkins first scheduled bout and that was going out at prime time over here, Showtime may show it on a slight delay????

True, and I agree with David, I think more of this is down to promotion, rather than the fighters themselves.

Given the opportunity, if money were not an option or excuse, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

It is a pity that Bradley did not get to fight Castillo. I think he had a chance of winning that and making a semi-name for himself ahead of a challenge to Junior.
I'm not convinced he's any good. I hope he is to give Junior more credibility, he's either gonna be a sht hot prospect or another Demetrius Hopkins (protected kid).

"ooo but he's a yank and its in America"....... piss off, he's an unkown and Witter is 30 fcuking 5 years old fighting, at best, twice a year!

Instead of chasing Hatton, he should consider following his lead!
Witters people approached...

Quintanta
Berto
Ngoudo(?)
and a few other WELTERS but they all turned him down.

Surely you know that?

Could not agree more! Hatton is fighting Lazcano having been in with Mayweather, and Witter is fighting Bradley?!!

Deluded.....
Hatton CHOSE Lazcano

Witter fights his mandatory.

Either way, Maussa is better than Harris.
No chance Maussa got lucky, if you watch the fight Harris floored Maussa with the first shot he threw and proceeded to punch himself out. Harris at his best has the potential to beat the best in the division and beat some good names Maussa does not and got lucky against a Harris who was at his worst

Hatton has only 1 scalp better than Harris in Tyszu.
Here's the fight. Maussa was battering Harris in round 1, Andy, so he wasn't punched out. I still think Maussa should've been DQ'd though.

I only saw it once but could have sworn there was an early KD, looks like I was wrong but Harris looked impressive early. Harris did what allot of Emmanual Steward fighters do and throw massive punches and got tired, look how many Steward fighters this has happened too its HIGH. I don' think Maussa should have got DQ'ed tbh but Harris is the better fighter just like Tyszu is better than Vince Phillips.

BTW the weighing 134 story went 'Harris weighed 139 at the weigh in and trained his ass off weighing 134 on fight night' , no I don't believe it but Harris wasn't at his best that night either. Who would your money be on in a rematch 3 months after the first?

Anyway look at what a badass Harris can be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq2wKot_ePA

Its amazing though that you can't have a Witter or Hatton thread without the others name popping up. Theres only 1 way to settle the dispute and its not comparing resumes......yep they need a guiness drinking contest

BTW has anyone been on the Hatton forum recently? What are there thoughts of the fight?

If vividly remember watching this fight live as I stayed up to watch Gatti v Mayweather. I was singing Harris's praises to my mate and then when he lost they had Billy Graham in the SKY studio and he said "Well, there goes a payday".

Oh ok, after that wonderful piece of insight, this fight is now perfectly acceptable.

To be serious for a moment though, Witter at 34 is well into the twilight of his career - It must be a struggle to get up for a fight like this and even though he keeps himself in good physical shape there has been clear indications in the past that he drifts in and out of rounds.

He doesn't want to risk that against someone 10 years his junior, who appears to be a half decent boxer - The fact that Bradley is happy to take the fight away from home speak volumes.

Yep I remember staying up for that 1, getting disapointed after it slowed, going to the kitchen to get a coffee to keep me woke and next thing I knew Harris was flat out

I used to rate Harris as the next big thing, he was being touted as the next Hagler at the time if you remember? I rated him as 50-50 against Witter, which is why I saw it as such a big win
