That's such a vivid description you almost had me convinced!charlieb wrote:I've decided. We'll see Joe hit the canvas (again), on Saturday.
Twice, before the referee waves it off.
So much confidence in this thread, I wish it were infectious, I really do.
I've seen a lot of people defending the idea that Joe really does have punch power, enough to surprise Hopkins, as well as those who consider him to be simply a volume slapper. I believe in that, but Hopkins power hasn't come into question, it's assumed he wont be able to hurt Calzaghe with single shots, not true. He has great timing and underrated power, which we'll see first hand in a few days when Calzaghe walks straight into a punch that'll put every one of our hearts in our throats as Calzaghe hits the deck, rises, makes the same mistake again.
Calzaghe will be screaming at the referee as he waves it off, Calzaghe senior will make a scene, Joe's bint will be balling her eyes out and Hopkins will be golden.
The only part that weight will play, is the heavy load we'll all be carrying around in the aftermath.
I think Hop's main weapon these days is his mouth, he's convincing alot of people he's the real deal - but he hasn't convinced the one who really matters, by all accounts - Joe Calzaghe.
The Executioner's "legend" shtick is a desert mirage, and it's gonna get blown apart on Sat night.
