Well we'll see what happens, but when a champion moves up in weight it generally happens that they do get a high ranking spot with the same body.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of manouvering going on - The way arthur has been manouvered is a prime example of how bad the WBO are.

Well here's the April rankings of WBO, i can't see Guzman getting the No.1 ranking . The boxers at the top are all with big promoters, so they aren't going to let their boxer drop down without a protest.

The problem is with Donovan, the writer of the original article, is he is incapable of saying Guzman's manager could have been in any way in the wrong. As far as I'm aware, a boxer from the US for a title fight has to be in Britain six days before the fight, which means he has to leave seven days before. Yet, seven days before, Guzman was still applying for a visa - that shows his manager to be a disorganised idiot.
That show being cancelled not only hit Guzman, it also hit Arthur in the pocket, the TV company and all the undercard fighters, all of whom had been in training but lost their payday.

So predictable, there's NO WAY Warren wanted this fight ( just like a few years back, they tried to talk Harrison out of a Guzman fight ) AA was going to get pulverized, no two ways about it.
There were "injury" rumours that AA was about to pull out, just before the visa excuse popped up and saved the day.
FW "unavailable for comment"??? Wow, that's a first.
And we get another meaningless WBO chump as a result. Woopee.

certainly - although he hits some big clubbing blows, Arthur lacks the speed to deal with a class act like Guzman. He'd end up badly lacerated, though probably not seriously hurt.

A verbal agreement between a promoter and a boss of a boxing governing body, hardly legally binding.
Campbell and Casamayor are boxing each other next , that fight has gone out to purse bids, and will take place sometime in mid/late summer.
Also Juan Manuel Marquez has been offered as an opponent for Campbell.
Casamayor could also have a proposed fight with Juan Diaz in September.
Add to that David Diaz fighting Pacquaio, at the end of June. the winner of that one won't fight again to at least September.
Of course Guzman could go down the WBA title route, as Campbell is the 'super champion', the WBA title is held by one Jose Alfaro who fights later this week i think.
Just because it's going to purse bids, doesn't mean that Golden Boy are going to play along. Golden Boy can easily get Casamayor to dump the WBO halfway belt. Casa has the Golden Boy Ring Mag title and the plan is for him to fight Juan Diaz for it.

He has beaten the guy who is 10th in the list though.

Nonetheless Guzman has been promised a #1 ranking. He is a former WBO champ at 2 weights and this clearly counts for something.

I reckon this is a joke. I would've at least had Arthur fighting for the vacant belt but he's been given it courtesy of a win over Kobo Google, and that is a crying shame, especially when 130lbs is fairly strong. I would've had him in against Rocky Jaurez.
