I'm starting to think that Hatton always knew Mayweather was too good for him.

Therefore the only reason he fought him and wants to fight him again is money.

we hate boxers but love them when they are seriously injured or lose, or go nuts and do crazy things.

What are we looking for in the UK. Are we looking for a heavyweight version of Nigel Benn, or a tougher Frank Bruno, or maybe another Bruce Woodcock?

For me I am looking for a guy who comes through the ranks with no glitz or mouth, a guy who comes in the ring to a basic anthem does the buisness and its greatful for the fight. Maybe a British version of Evander Holyfield.

I think the general boxing fan does rate Calzaghe. When someone like Barry McGuigan goes on record as saying that Joe is the best Super Middleweight Britain's ever produced then it does filter through to the viewers. It seems to me that Calzaghe receives most of his critique on this forum.

I think, perhaps, people don't like Khan talking about his ambitions when he isn't making the steps to achieve them. Khan would be more respected with a Cotto-like attitude, but then he wouldn't stay in the media. I think to appreciate what he says you have to bear in mind that a lot of it is just for publicity. A public front is not necessarily the true face. I think Khan is very much loved in the Asian community, but I could be wrong.

David Haye, at the moment, seems to be pushing the right buttons.

TBH I think after beating Kostya, Hatton thought he could beat anyone. I really cant see Hatton saying he "wasnt ready". Even now after being KOd by Floyd he still thinks he could beat him.

We do of course want to see young British fighters come through and become World champions. If you have any pride in our Nation its natural to want our lads to win the ultimate prizes. We also want to see great fighters whatever their nationality excite us such as Ali and Tyson. I must admit I prefer humble fighters who just get on with the job and win their fights, to big heads who mouth off about how good they are, Carl Froch springs to mind.

He said as much in 2005, you could argue, he was building up the fight by building his rep, but it seemed like the fight was out of grasp in 2007 after he turned it down many times

I want definitive proof that Hatton said he wasn't ready after he beat Kostya - that's all I am arguing about now. It you can't provide that proof then don't come in this thread with assumptions or hearsay and think that you know what happened.
