Who knows what will decide this. Taylor's experience. Froch's hunger. Taylor's speed. Froch's power. I think we have seen the best of Taylor and we haven't seen the best of Froch.

Hopefully it happens.

Already DiBella is saying that Taylor v Lacy "makes more sense" because Lacy is American, HBO know Lacy, blah blah. Lou "has a problem" with "these British guys who defend Commonwealth titles" because all of a sudden they want to get "treated like the home fighter."

I thought Froch would make more sense, as it's for a world title.

Never liked Taylor's choice of opponents this is a guy whose promoter tried to worm out of that mandatory fight in order to face another light middle - and was a joy to see Pavlik knock him out. Hopefully Froch does the same.

Just let the fvcking fight go to purse bids & settle the bitching in the ring.

DiBella wants Lacy for Taylor. A absolutely ruined Lacy rather than a world title shot vs Froch.

If Taylor avoids a Froch bout, guess who's next in the WBC rankings?

Denis Inkin. The man who keeps on pulling out of fights with Froch. Is another Inkin fiasco on the cards?

This is a mess. If only ppl would just get on with the fighting.

Hennessey lacks the clout in my opinion - Sure, he gets his fighters there eventually, but we saw how long Eastman had to sit on his ranking, and Witter's only way was to sit on a ranking also.

Froch is going to be no different - I'll be pleasantly surprised if he does get this fight.

but at least the wait if for a proper title, better than pushing fighters to wbu title fights then holding them there for 5 years..

can't really blame di bella for being cynical on froch.

his opposition has been a bit average so far to say the least.

Remember that Taylo also ran from Eastman like a bitch.

Froch by KO!

Froch would treat taylor the way jc treated lacy although not as fast.

More a slow painful death!!!

He's talked the talk and walked the walk, so give him the chance.

If he gets Froch to a world title he'll have some clout. He's done well getting the unpopular Witter to the WBC belt. Froch, with more power, personality etc, could become big. Fight with Taylor - whom Joe Calzaghe was set on, prior to Kessler - will get ppl watching. If he can beat/stop Taylor things would look good.

Think Hennessy's only been around since about 2002. He's put on lots of good shows and maybe he has 1 or 2 stars coming throuhg in Froch & Barker.

Real problem though when the opposition just won't turn up for the fights.

There have been similarities wth Froch and Witter's career progress. Witter had ppl pull out of WBC elims, became mandatory for the champ only to vacate, etc etc. I just think when Froch gets the prize, more ppl will be interested. Much more.

Taylor might look ready for the taking, on paper, on the back of those two losses, but he's still very much an elite fighter, a million miles better than anyone Froch has even come close to.

What makes anyone think Froch hit harder than Pavlik?

I really like Froch, but I don't think the fairly easy path he's had so far, will have got him ready for the type of fight a motivated Taylor will give him. Carl looks to have a very good chin, and he'll need to against Taylor.

Still would like to see Froch get his chance, as he is WBC #1.

I;ve been thinking about this one some more, and the more I think the more I have to favour Taylor.

Froch is tough and can hit, but he's also slow and can lack accuracy and workrate. I see him getting outworked and maybe stopped late, but I can also see him knowing he's behind and going for the kill late...

I can't see how Froch wins, unless he KO's him - it's possible but not probable, especially on Yankee soil.

Froch will ice Taylor.

That's why he'll be another fighter steered away from Froch to do other things.

I can't see Taylor coming to the U.S. I also cannot see the Lacy fight happening. It was dead in the water weeks before this was rumoured.

This the news Froch and his supporters have been waiting for :D :D :D The patience Froch has shown looks like it's going to be rewarded.

It's the moment of truth for Carl and I can't wait to see how he handles the situation. Di Bella is talking like a knob. This isn't another Lockett coming over who looked like a boy with pea-shooter against a man with a gun when challenging Kelly.

It's a tall order for Froch but he brings a lot to the table and he's in with a good shout. :TU:

Should Taylor be involved in the match up... he is 0-2 for the last year and hasn't chalked up a win at Super Middle.

Terry D wrote:I've been wrong about Taylor fights before but cannot see Froch winning this one. Taylor has beaten Hopkins twice, drew with Wright and fought well with Pavlik twice. His resume buries Froch's and skillwise he is on another level due to greater speed.

Froch has shown enough power to beat British/Euro fighters. Taylor showed speed and sharpness enough to put Hopkins out of his stride. Dodson, Reid and Magee are not fights that will prepare Froch for this. He is quite slow at times and easy to hit.

Taylor by KO for me. Sorry Chambers and GOmez but I think the other guy is going to smoke some boots in this one :box: :TU:

Although you have to laugh at the Froch statement released today. He has the gift of the gab.
Very true, he has. A bit like Khan saying he could beat Pacman and Diaz. Froch with his low guard and Taylor with his speed equals Pavlik/Lockett.

His only two losses have been against Pavlik. Time will tell but I believe Pavlik is very special and will be at the top for a very long time. Taylor is a very tough, true World class fighter though and Froch hasnt fought anyone like him. The truth is Froch just hasnt had the fights that Taylor has been in and his 0 is still intact because of that. Talk about KOing Taylor and then beating Kelly Pavlik is laughable. The Nottingham bighead is in for a shock, it isnt hype with Froch he truly believes the crap he comes out with.

It's all about grounding, and Froch lacks it, much the same way Lockett did when he went for Pavlik.

Although Froch is a different beast to lockett and would hold himself together better on the world stage and put in a better showing.

Not that it is Froch's fault, he want's the fight's and more importantly is doing his bit to chase them - I'm not criticising that aspect of his game, becasue he deserves the chance to see if he can mix it up at top level.

However, beating up the likes of Rybaki and then jumping in with a genuine world elite fighter has banana skin written all over it - We've seen it so many time's with fighters from these shores, but as always people associated to the camp and the trash talking fanboys get carried away with it all and neglect and dismiss the hard facts.

The hard facts being that to this day Magee is the best win on Froch's resume, and yes he did get Magee out of there in style, but that fight was close until the stoppage - Magee is far from an elite fighter, not much above domestic class and has a ropey chin.

I like Froch, I think him and Kessler would be an absolute stonking macth up, but put him in with a boxer, and a boxer at world level, and he's going to fall short in my opinion. Let's hope he get's this fight, he's festering a little in what are really his best years.

Big fan of both these guys, a genuine 50/50 for me.

I think it will go to points, and while I will be rooting for Carl I think he may get beaten by a couple of rounds.
Taylor is perhaps a little too slick for him, though Froch has plenty of power and is unpredictable.

Fair enough. But surely you'd think that if he's out of his depth vs Taylor, he'd be out of his depth to Kessler also?

IF Carl isn't in the same league, then Taylro should take the fight and pick up that title.

As long as Froch's chin is as good as everyone makes it out to be, I think Froch could give Taylor some trouble. I'm favouring Taylor provided he is motivated (like he was in the Pavlik rematch).
