Fewkey is a talented lad.
The art of pugilism is hit and don't be hit.
Every scoring punch doesn't have to be a sleeper.
He is good at slipping punches, and is accurate. Until he sparred with Khan he had never faced anyone with that level of speed and agility.
He did very well in those sessions - but clearly somewhere within the Khan camp, there was a feeling he could beat Fewkey comfortably.
Whether that's the case we wont know - for at least 18 months in my honest opinion.
Glyn Rhodes is a shrewd operator and knows Fewkey inside out. He's had him since he was a pup.
Rhodes wont let the Promotor dictate too much and this is exactly the right decision, regardless of the money on offer.
Fewkey is still developing. There's no rush. All this talk of a lack of power is just that. I expect Fewkey to become a domestic champ and his handlers have got it bang on.

very true, but no one wants low money to fight Khan. How much was Thaxton offered, so that they didn't have to go to purse bids? Winning a British title first makes sense. Maybe he should just work to a Murray fight (again) or maybe wait until Murray's finished with the British belt.
