Withh regards to the Mundine comments i think the key thing was the timing.VERY inappropriate. as for 911,american foreign policy etc dont get me started.for me at the end of the day the people that died were innocent and as a result the whole thing was fucked. if you delve deeply into the matter and go back into post wW2 history then one learns how farked up the entire middle east/american political thing is.conspiracy theories etc etc.Just like JFK us little people will never know the whole truth.out of context or not what mundine said was poorly timed and if he had 1/9th of a brain hhe would simply have said nothing.but being a gangsta homeboy straight outta compton with pants that dont fit and .............he did say somehting.

as for froch-well at least he gets the less than exemplary opposition out of there-mundine has not done that for a looooooooooooooong time.He did get soliman in part 2 admittedly but someone had to eventually with the way he used to bring his head around after throwing a punch(plus it was perfectly timed and damn nasty).now if he cant knock out the other dudes he has fought since Green then dont think he would do Froch.so he does the backfoot thing and gets a UD -ok. BUT soliman hit him, hamden got a few goodies in and Kim dropped him.He gets hit by Froch(who i dont think is as slow as Green)he is gone.He would have to bring his triple A game to the table like he did vs Green.and yes Froch does seem to have flaws-an arrogant air to his style with limited defence(IMO) BUT he is one accurate puncher and it is this that could spell nights out for choc. dont think mundine has the power to get frochs respect and i just see him stalking mundine relentlessly until he lands one.

but it will never happen.the more the circus goes on i reckon its gonna be shannon taylors name we see in the opponents column.and i just cant see a wAY past his best taylor beating him.it will be a boring arse fight and i just hope that shannon gets a reasonable payday.

Look at it this way:

Mundine stops Manfredo
Mundine UD's Winky

Kessler beats Bute
Kessler beats Froch

Mundine vs Kessler 2 (Will be massive and theres no other way of putting it).

Mundine conditions himself well. And should be able to last at his peak for the next 3-4 years. I doubt he is on the decline. I really do.
Your head is in the clouds. Mundine will never face Kessler again.

^^agreed. in a delussional state of hope i would say perhaps he is waiting for the fight when Kessler has all the titles(well most)and then he will fight him so he can say he is undisputed. Then i laugh at my stupidity.

pleading ignorance Asterix but has Froch ever some up against a well skilled(+ good running skills)like mundine and would he be prepared to travel to Oz???

froch will fight anyone, tho whether he'd travel to oz im not sure....

unlike mundine, froch will step up anytime, any place. he doesnt doubt his ability one bit.

I'm afraid I've only watched a few of Froch's fights and not seen him against someone with good reflexive ability. Hopefully another Brit will see this and give you an answer.
As to whether he would travel...I think Froch would be happy to travel, I'm not sure whether his promoter would like it, but most of all, I can't see Mundine taking the fight as Froch isn't a big name yet carries the risk of being a top boxer and heavy puncher.

lol i dont get it, Kim is a better fighter then Dale Westermen, And Dale gave Froch a hard fight before running out of steam (Westerman trained for 2 weeks) - Mundine beats the pom.

hang on....westerman threw everything but the kitchen sink at froch and froch didnt wobble! then froch KO'd him after westerman got tired lol

all it shows is, early rounds/mid rounds/late rounds, it dont matter froch can KO you either way.

I thought mundine would have realised in this fight that he can compete with the top level and if he had of taken some better learning fights he would have improved and won a wold title. Yes he did look like a rabbit at times but at times he did open up and score, he just didnt let his hands go enough. shame

one thing is for sure...mundine is one hell of an athlete...just a natural sportsman, born to be a sportsman....gotta give credit where its due.

(froch will still beat him though) :box:

Is that what you think? Westermen had 2 weeks notice, Made Froch look like a Cab driver up untill the 7th round then got KO`ed in the 9th and you could see he had no steam left hence Westermen not getting up. Crazy Kim would school Froch.

Carl Froch is superstition!

Kessler took a back injury into that fight and still won a near shutout, if Mundine let his hands go more he would have been open more and got himself KO'd. I still think that that loss was Mundine's best performance...

As I mentioned before look at the question in context, it had everything to do with 9/11, the question of troops going to Afganistan is directly related to the terrorist attack and Mundine acknowledges that by referring to the terrorist attack!

The act of terrorism that brought the US Armed Forces into Afghanistan (my spelling might be off this morning) was the Sept 11th attacks on the WTC, Pentagon and failed attempt in Philly that was organised by Al Qaeda operatives - an organisation which is headed by Osama Bin Laden who was known to be hiding out in.....Afghanistan. THAT was the reason that US went there. That is fact. That is what the question was relating to. That was what Mundine made his insensitive comments about.

He was set up though. What he did say was wrong.

But why on Earth do you get a controversial muslim boxer to comment on it? Instead of a political analyst in international relations?

P.S i just watched the fight with Westerman.

Im now moving towards a Mundine stoppage.

And if you look at the Kessler scenario. Fighting him when he is undisputed is very very good management.

I mean if Mundine was to beat Kessler, he would have only have defended his belt. By allowing Kessler to clean up the other champions, E.G Bute. It plays into Mundines hands big time.

Boxa2, i'm sorry mate, but no matter what you say, or how you say it, the fact is that Mundine can do no wrong in your eyes. His comments were foolish, insensitive and without compassion. Only an idiot would have made the comments he did and only a fool would try to see reason in them. Context is irrelevant. It reminds me that regardless of his good deeds, his depth of character and true colours are tainted forever.

Why get a controversial muslim boxer to comment? Because he's a controversial muslim - not a white person, they would've wanted a different perspective given that he's a muslim, not a white christian.

So instead of getting a political analyst to talk about Australian foreign policy and the deploymnent of troops abroad.

We get a boxer who can barely string sentences together?

Channel 9 only had one thing in mind that day. And it was to make a major news story at Mundines expense.

It's not uncommon for the media to get "other" people to voice their opinions on world issues such as war. Especially a person who is a very public figure that doesn't fit the stereotypical mold of the (for want of a better word) antagonist. In this case, Mundine. He was/is a public face that is well-known in this country and he is a black muslim.

I understand you agree that what he said was stupid, but to say he was bated and setup is just ridiculous. He was asked for an opinion - he gave it. The fact that he didn't think through what he said goes to show what an idiot he is. It wasn't like they grabbed him off the street and got his opinion, it was a prepared statement, you could tell by the way it was filmed.
