Re: Letter from Amir to his fans, and Oliver Harrison's View

I think from all of this we can see that there is a lot of work for Amir to do definately. If what Oliver Harrison was saying about Khan being pulled from the gym to do interviews & open boxing clubs etc, then obviously he as got to stop all that and knuckle down and get on with the job of learning his craft.
I'm still of the opinion that he was hyped up too much on Saturday and rushed out there like the young lad he is, full of beans etc, and paid the inevitable price. He wanted to make his mark very early on and was caught flush on the chin. But he is a professional boxer as well, and should have known not to leg it out there and steam in. Still, one sometimes has to learn the hard way!
Maybe a nasty KO loss will jolt him and bring him back down to earth. He will hopefully realise that he is like everyone else and can be beaten, and now the message will hit home that he does have to work at it, really work at it in order to achieve his aim of becoming world champion. Enough of the fast, jazzy, big-time TV/PPV route to the top. He should take on the likes of John Thaxton, John Murray etc. who have proved their mettle and won domestic titles the proper way by taking the time to learn the craft of professional boxing -Thaxton in particular is a good example of that.
All is not lost. Amir can come back, but whether he is damaged by this loss remains to be seen. However, his family should let allegedly & Sports Network get on with sorting Amir Khan's boxing career out. We have seen what can happen when they interfere too much. Manager, trainer & fighter. That should be the team, not cheerleader, towel-carrier, yes man & errand boy. That's crazy.
It's difficult to say whether Rubio is the right man for the job of trainer. He didn't exactly get the chance to prove his worth at the weekend! If I had to choose a trainer, I'd say Jim Evans. Old school, no-nonsense and actually loves his fighters. Checks their weight, goes out with them on their runs, and just keeps a very close, stern eye on them. Khan would have to move down south but that would be a good move (away from distractions etc).
The next few weeks will be every interesting!
